We never did see a proper "amusement park", Ferris Wheel etc., right? It'd be fun if visitors got to go on them with a Friend of their choice.
I want to get stuck at the top of the malfunctioning ferris wheel with shoebill.
>ask Toki to go with you
>let her sing
>applaud and praise her shamelessly
Y-yeah, that's absolutely all...
Let's say that Kaban's plan is indeed trying to swim up BigDog's leg to get at its gemstone. How the fuck is she going to break it? She's not physically strong and I don't think she can just tear it off.
Is this worth a watch? Most the screenshots of the 3d cg look bad, but screenshots of 3d cg don't always look good, and people like to take pictures of shit that looks bad for the sake of humor, and I'd be hella remiss to not say that lots of stills of shows I fuckin love look kinda shit from a completely external/impartial perspective.
Is this overall a good cute girls with animal ears and tails doing cute shit anime? Does the CG get in the way? Is it worth a watch if you like kawaii shit in general?
On one hand, both Mirai and Kaban coming up with the exact same plan, really?
On the other hand, if Kaban is the Friend of Mirai, then that means Kaban has Mirai's traits and parts of her memory. So it's not as far-fetched as I first thought.
Can Friends kill Witches?
>stare back at her
>Next episode begins
>It's a timeskip where everything is normal and no mention of Kaban
It looks like fucking crap but that has nothing to do with the writing.
They've got fire, they've got stakes. Why not?
>go on ferris wheel with Arai-san
>Arai-san freaks the HECK out as it stops at the top
>by the time you leave the ferris wheel, you're covered in bruises, scratch marks, bite marks, and Arai-san is sobbing heavily because she's so traumatized by the experience
So much quality art from this episode.
You're going to get a bunch of aggressive responses because this question gets asked several times every thread. Short answer is yes, but it's got a high entry barrier.
The screenshots aren't lying to you anon. The models and rendering themselves aren't half bad, but the animation as a whole is not good. Some people have come to find it charming, while others can simply overlook it and let their imagination fill in the gaps left by the imperfection of the visuals.
It's hard to describe what's really amazing about this show because all of its best attributes are so subtle. It's a cute adventure about self-discovery with some surprisingly compelling characters. The attention to small details are nearly unbelievable at times and the pacing towards hinting at a the mystery behind the park is near perfect.
You're probably not gonna like it for the visuals, but you should give it a try anyway. And leave these threads so you don't get the descent into madness spoiled for you.
>go on roller coaster with Arai
Some of you guys are alright. Don't come to Japari Park in 5 minutes.
What are the chances of Serval already losing her memories(from the time she spent inside the cerulean) and not remembering Kaban?
What are the chances of Kaban not remembering the Friends?
I assume there is some kind of main attraction at the disembarkation point. The harbor from earlier seemed to be a cargo point. Also there's an air strip, which is probably there.
This cute little girl has more balls than all of us combined. Truly the pinnacle of human evolution.
They didn't say that was all they lost, though.
They could have meant you lose your memories (and go back to being a non-friend animal) and voice (as a result of no longer being a friend).
>But the humans on this planet? Now THEY are interesting.
>Because they are an enigma. They killed uncountable numbers of other species and yet love them all in equal measure! It's fascinating, don't you think? What could possibly drive such behavior? We have dedicated ourselves to unraveling this mystery of humanity... And now we will allow you to assist us. You were made in their image, after all. We need you to locate the rest of the humans on the planet and bring them to us. We will then absorb and consume them in order to drag their secrets forth into the light! Surely you see the attraction in this.
>just losing their memories and voice
We don't even know what the effects actually are yet. We don't know what happened to Serval, and Kaban is apparently fine, for the most part. As far as we know.
Fuck, so many unanswered questions
Fair enough famlan, I'll give it a shot.
Many of my all time favorites are not thing I would ever personally espouse or praise for their 'art' on its own merit.
To be honest, I haven't watched ALL that many CG anime; I mean Arpeggio and that one movie with that chick from space piloting some mech meeting some hustler on a post-apocalyptic earth (can't remember the mean atm) and Knight of Sidonia were all pretty damn entertaining for ME: and I'm pretty sure some silly looking screenshots exist for all the aforementioned shows somewhere out there. Not to mentions plenty of 'quality' screenshots and stills exist for plenty of my 2d favorites.
Thanks brah, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
They appear to be like single-celled organisms.
Those things are like very simple animals. They only want food, and they follow light because it either means safety or more food for them.
With the introduction of the black cerulean, it seems they're evolving. If given time, they could probably evolve an intelligent Friend-like Cerulean like Cerval in the game soon.
>black Cerulean gets sunk into the bottom of the ocean
>Serval and Friends see Kaban's crushed, splattered remains and see Sandstar turn the flesh into a new Human Friend that looks like Kaban
I love Bag!
Kaban has absorbed the powers of all the Friends she's met, she meowmeowmeowed up a tree and now she'll unleash the colossal strength of tanoshii to rip and tear the cerulean from inside.
>Yfw Savanna Slug gets a special character made by Mine considering how popular it's got
Didn't it technically already get a character? Slug-chan's model looks nothing like Zebra's.
This is the ideal Friend.
You may not like it, but this is what peak evolution looks like.
>Cry the whole train ride to work.
>Occasional whimpers in the workplace.
It's simple. Sandstar doesn't friendzify living humans. If that were the case, Japari Park would never have been created, because the entire region would have been deemed too dangerous.
So how long has it been since the Park was abandoned? PPP said that there were 3 generations of Idol Friends, and the moss on the wrecked bridge in the river mean it's been there for a while.
If the Japs haven't done this already (all bets being off there), here's a good idea if any drawfags around:
Pics related, but replace Goku with Bag (and maybe Boss next to her)
Replace Goku's friends with the Friends whom she most made a difference for
Replace the spaceship with the Japari Bus
Dunno, but as a Keroro-fag/Mine follower, that's around the time I picked it up after being initially uninterested because of the love already being shown and thought it couldn't hurt. Needless to say I'll never doubt the man ever again.
What I liked was that Kaban's 'special ability' was her spirit and her intelligence. It isn't like most other anime where 'spirit' manifests in ki blasts or transformation or smarts meaning Sherlock Holmes or Macgyver-tier bullshit.
Kaban's just an ordinary human, without extraordinary abilities to set herself apart from others, other than for her love for her friends.
Well theoretically it was series only, so Mine had nothing to do with it. I'm talking about him making it an actual character model. Be it just the slug form, or a Friend form. CR's mascot got one, so who knows? If it grows even bigger I would honestly not be surprised if MIne did something with it.
>Kaban became lovable because she is truly ordinary in an extraordinary place
So Sandstar turns animals and objects into Friends
Sandstar Rho specifically transforms objects, but because it's essentially unfiltered Sandstar, the resulting creature is a blob monster that seeks out Sandstar and by extension light
Pure Sandstar filtered by the crystal is what transforms things, from animals and even AI into Friends
>If it grows even bigger I would honestly not be surprised if MIne did something with it.
Mine must have a lot of salt on hand to be able to deal with a slug of THIS size.
Not implying it getting in the series or anything, hell if the series got an S2 in the first place that is, just Mine tweeting a new piece at one point saying "Hey, I hear you like giant slugs" or something. That could be the genuine Savanna Slug we know now, or a Friend version he'd design around it. Either way, it would be a fun surprise.
Not to mention how the 4 gods in the game were once Ceruleans that had to be defeated to be made into Friends, while here in the anime they are just tablets that comprise of the filtering system
Why do artists like to associate Shoebill with guns?
Kaban's not just an ordinary human, though.
she's clearly pretty smart, I doubt 90% of /a/ could make an igloo at all, Kaban basically invented one herself.
She's also pretty brave (when she needs to be) and an all around nice person.
After some time, the Gods probably died and were buried so they wouldn't be turned into Ceruleans again. The Friends don't seem to travel near the volcano summit, so it makes sense that over time no one was able to locate the four gods.
i will admitt that this is the first time i watched kemono friends on a tuesday,i usually watch nime on sundays, so i never cared for the 5 minutes things,o boy how wrong i was
Oh wait, there's more.
It's because in the game, a Cerulean transformed into a Serval-shaped Cerulean that befriended a Serval and was dubbed by her as Cerval. Said Cerval later helped Serval and Mirai and co. defeat the Cerulean Queen and became a real Friend afterward, meaning Ceruleans are also capable of becoming Friends.
>yfw it will eternally be 5 minutes after the last episode aired someday
Ah, now that's an interesting point. To have the Savanna Slug make any kind of sense, he'd need to move away from the slimy kind of slug we're used to since it would lose its water way too fast and would probably have a thick but still elastic enough hide, akin to a hippo. And to keep using the hippo as an example, since it would probably still need to be next to water somewhat, it would also have some kind of auto applying sun screen just like the hippo and therefore defense against the sun when it's unable to find water. As for movement, since it can't travel on a carpet of slime like the smaller versions of its kind, its singular muscular foot could possibly mutate into something akin to caterpillar like short legs which it would bring close apart then push further away to achieve movement. This is all silly speculah, sure, but where I'm getting at with this, is that since it can't afford to have a slimy body in the savanna, it should also be immune to salt.
>mfw I only asked that question because I remember seeing this image and forgot to save it and bet that someone would post it in response.
Kaban is hardly ordinary in fortitude and in composure. Her intellect when coupled with that drive sets her apart from the likes of say Kirito, by being so wholly human yet being an extraordinary as a person. Her intellect is generously used to the betterment of the friends she's made, not just to serve her ends.
Cerulean Tachikoma, "Tachilian".
No, there's a false Cerulean Serval in the game (called Cerval later). Although she knows that she's a Cerulian from the start.
More or less, since the anime follows several parts of the game (and clearly ignores others) people have been filling the holes with the game's lore.
For example, as far as the anime canon goes, the gods are just some sort of control/calibration devices for the sand star filter. When and who build it is not known, so, why not go for the game for answers?
>[thunderous stampede of giant savanna slug feet in the distance]
I imagine the sound to be like at least thirty six-inch tall horses galloping on an earthen surface.
Her problem solving and critical thinking abilities are top notch. That improvisation is shown time and time again, and that scene where she composed herself and redraw the plan with brown bear really stands out. That leadership ability is not common at all.
It's because Kemono Friends is not just a children anime, but educational children anime. It teaches children that what makes humans special is their ingenuity, their ability to build tools, and most importantly, their ability to command fire.
All Friends that can do even watered down version of what Kaban can do are treated as super special. Kaban can read difficult encyclopedias and correctly practice their instructions. Gay Wolf can read and write simple comics, and she's a celebrity among Friends. Kaban can start fire and use it to devastating effect. Bear is treated as super badass because she fears fire the least amongst Friends.
>You will never again watch KF for the first time and react to it together with /a/
The ride's almost over. I'm glad to have been on it with you all.
I think one of the problems the game had launching by itself was going with SD designs for the characters.
It was an almost complete gameplay clone of another more established game and that clearly had more resources for backgrounds, VA and animations. So, it only could stand out by character design, and although they're detailed, SD-only designs limit audience reach. Even the anime didn't go with those proportions. They're fine for the in-game sprites, but the artwork should have been full sized from the start.
5 nanoseconds in ms paint
God, I REALLY want to mate with Kaban.
I don't think there's any current game that matches Kemono Friends yet.
Turn based RPGs implies you'll be grinding against ceruleans, which really isnt what makes the anime good
Not really. The ability to wield fire isn't what really makes human powerful, but rather in human resource management, planning and execution.
The friends have the same abandages and faculties as homo sapiens. They lack the experience in well, management and education. That ability to organize is more powerful than mere brawns or special trait, fire, or any tool of man.
I think an anon said she was some sort of police officer in the games.
like what >>154913771
This anime reminds me of Atelier, especially Ayesha since its set on a post apocalyptic thriving world. Character interaction and travel is the main point of the series along alchemy.
In the game scenario, they fly over the park and are almost immediately shot down by a Cerulian. Then wake up later separately from each other already turned into Friends.
I was also initially skeptical of the 3DCG but upon watching a few episodes I was completely hooked. The character interactions are incredibly endearing and there's some actually very well-done worldbuilding.
Also nothing bad ever happens to the protagonists ever, you'll be feeling healed already.
They're all great, but Rockhopper is my favorite.
They're all the best, and they're all the most erotic of the group.
>GW: Bag is showing early symptoms of Cerulean fever; the only known cure is the prairie dog greeting...
>S: I got it! I remember how to do that!
>B: Serval, you're so gullible! I'm not sick--
>B: Mmmf -kiss kiss-
>GW: Ah, thanks for the expressions...
>S: Umya... <3 myau... <3
>Also nothing bad ever happens to the protagonists ever
No way, that'd be stupid.
I'm partial toward Monster Hunter type of games myself. How about Kemono Friends 2: Age of Ceruleans?
Don't think that's ever happened with a late night anime before, and I doubt it's possible since it's always going to be seen as an otaku show, and those air late at night. That's just how it is.
>>Also nothing bad ever happens to the protagonists ever, you'll be feeling healed already.
Its all tanoshii!
Depends if the friend is a friend with benefits.
Keion and Love Live both got rerun on primetime disney
High chance of this getting a rerun considering it is an infotainment kid show about endangered animals. Gotta promote the inevitable happy meal toys collab.
Serval's other girlfriend
in the previous iteration.
It's not known whether she's still alive today, so don't count on her to save anyone.
And, amusingly, the zookeepers occasionally talk about the animals' mating habits.
Grinding strengthens your empathic bond with the characters, believe it or not. It's not a mechanic, but a method to draw out your experience and travails so that they match those the characters must feel in world, so that by then end you feel you have been on a great journey with them. By the end of a decent RPG you feel like you've been through a lot with them, because you have.
Consequently that's why watching a series in real time with /a/ will always be better than marathoning it on your own over the course of an evening or two, especially if there's an adventurous or speculative element. They are categorically different experiences, even if the content is the same. I feel pretty fortunate for hopping onto Kemono Friends at episode three. The experience of time is relative and it's not about content alone.
No permanent damage, and violence was played for laughs, not as a purveyor of tragedy and death.
>The experience of time is relative and it's not about content alone.
Shit, I feel like the last additional ensemble cast character that joins the party midway through the game.
Why are birds so wonderful?
Have you never seen an idol show? Even the biggest bumbling retard can become a star once they step on the stage.
Despite Anons mentioning it in the previous threads, I never truly realized how disconcerting the Cerulean WUB WUB felt until this episode.
Because as seen before, they are dull as a sack of bricks. A hunter must be sharp.
They are dinosaurs.
Don't let them fool you.
Servals and Caracals are basically siblings or cousins.
>Yes Kaban-chan, the fire doesn't bother me, but I'd like to remind you that it's past curfew and you can't have a fire this late, so please put it out with two buckets of water or until there is no embers left.
Remember, only you can prevent forest fires
Their feathers and hair is probably smooth and soft.
Flying through the air makes them smell like a spring breeze.
Lithe and light bodies that make you want to wrap your arms around them and squeeze them.
They have silly and observant personalities
They're cute and colorful.
Also they're descendants of dinosaurs.
Someone should edit this with Kaban as Vegeta, Serval as Trunks, Bossu as Goten and Brown Bear as Piccolo
Such is life in Africa for all of God's creatures.
Seriously watch the BBC Africa documentary series if you haven't already seen it, its some of the greatest television I've ever seen. The effort that is must have taken to capture some of the scenes leaves me scratching my head. It's on Netflix.
kek, not once did that cross my mind.
Huh? HUH? SAY IT TO MY FACE YOU LITTLE SHIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS
>Genetic analysis has shown that caracal, African golden cat and serval are genetically closely related and diverged from a common ancestor about 5.4 million years ago. Therefore, it has been suggested to subordinate all of them to the genus Caracal. This taxonomic classification is used in the IUCN Red List for the African golden cat. It is used as a synonym for the serval.
SERVAL IS ACTUALLY A CARACAL
>According to a 2006 genetic study, the Caracal lineage came into existence 8.5 mya, and the ancestor of this lineage arrived in Africa 8.5–5.6 mya.
I always thought it was pronounced with a hard G until I watched Kemono Friends. Truly the most educational anime.
You sure bagged this one, Carlos.
>Ōkawa Haruyoshi, who was seven years old and the son of the Sankebetsu village mayor at the time of the incident, grew up to become a prolific bear hunter. He swore an oath to kill ten bears for every victim of the attack. By the time he reached the age of 62, he had killed 102 bears
Metal as fuck
I had an owl once. She was absolutely wonderful.
Never thought I'm going to see great owl girls in anime.
>No silhouettes in the ED
What did they MEAN by this!?
