I like it, but it's not one of my favorite Ghibli films. It's more of a "sit and enjoy" film, with simple plot and characters but visually pleasing.

I like it but I think the reason why you don't hear a lot of discussion about it here is because you can pretty much talk about Miyazaki movies anywhere online

I loved it but I can only watch it subbed. Which makes it hard to do anything else while its on. Disney fucks up everything and every movie they touch.

But there isn't anything wrong with the movie itself. Its really fun and cute.

I didn't much care for it. The movie had some interesting visuals, but like some other Miyazaki movies, it just felt like it ended and was over far too quickly. We just had the plot dumped into our laps and then immediately resolved, with little buildup or payoff.

Probably half the Miyazaki movies are really good, but a good portion just end before the story is finished. I have to wonder if Porco and Pom Poko are like that or not.

People like to bully Miyazaki, especially his newer movies. Lots of people are adverse to children's stuff too. That doesn't account for everyone, but a good number of people on /a/ from what I can tell. Others didn't like the ending, or play the Oshii criticism. I personally adore it. I love all Miyazaki's movies but this one's a favourite.
