I like the 70s and 80s anime that adapt kids books, I wish that was a tradition that continued today. Some of them are way better than the book they're based on, I mean Heidi is classic don't know how they got something so perfect out of A Dog of Flanders.

It goes without saying that that's a wild generalization, but I'll say it anyways. Even so, the best of the 70s is leaps and bounds better than what we have now.
