Introduction
Universal Century 0096. Several months have passed since the incident surrounding Laplace’s box also known as the the Universal Century Charter. The Earth Federation Forces dispatches a group of investigators to the severed Axis which is drifting outside the Earth Sphere. Two civilians participate as members of the research group: Arlette Almage and Danton Hyleg. Both have pasts with government service to the Principality of Zeon and Neo Zeon as an engineer and test pilot. Having infiltrated Axis, the investigators come under attack inside a base where no one should be. Arlette and Dalton are confronted with by incident they never imagined.

Season 1 was extremely bad. And that's not even getting into how terrible the production values, animation, and fights were given they were relatively lacking most of the entire middle of the show.

As for Season 2, it being an "improvement" over Season 1 isn't hard. Because Season 1 set the bar very low. So yes the follow up season is better, but the margins aren't hard to get over the first season.

Why were we ever meant to think that? They have a psycho kid who is very, very good at destroying mechs. They also have an old legacy machine which tends to carry the 'it's old and made for war, so it's somehow better than new tech'. Then they get upgrades and additional help. They certainly have a numerical disadvantage, but how often has that been a problem for MC-kun and his battleship in a gundam setting (tends to be common in UC until major FLEET engagements).

It actually makes a bit of sense in IBO. The gundams were made to be super cutting edge in the seting with twin linked reactors and AV system.

During the war the method for manufacturing twin linked reactors was lost and AV tech was discouraged along with a lot of prosthetic and other artificial alterations of the body.

The Graze is a newer machine, but it was built to prioritize ease of maintenance and cheap production while the performance was "Good enough" because it served in a time where MS combat was falling out of fashion.

No, only UC is interconnected with Turn A and G-Reco. All other AU Gundams are standalone series. Seed and Seed-Destiny are Cosmic Era, 00 is Anno Domino, AGE is Advanced Generation, Wing is After Colony, etc...And the reason AU Gundams look similar to the original is because of callback tributes.
