I just want to know how the FUCK they're going to resolve all of this in one more 20 minute episode.

This episode introduced so much new stuff like the big cerulean, bombers, the gods, the other landmass, Bossu getting crazy eyes, serval possible memory wipe, kaban somehow finding a way. This shit needs another few episodes at least, but I have faith.

Maybe the first cycle wasn't one where Kaban was Mirai, but one where Kaban was just a lost child in Japari Park the abandoned amusement park.

The plan probably required the speed of the bus to work.
It would likely be daybreak soon(judging from the discussion with bear on how they need to hurry since the plan will only work at night)
Kaban likely oriented the Cerulean so it would be facing the direction of the rising sun and would immediately start moving towards it and away from Serval instead of stopping in place until the area becomes illuminated.

Kaban did the right thing by stalling for time and saving Serval. After the Black Cerulean stomps Kaban out, the only torch remaining would be the one that the brown bear's holding. The BigDog will take some time to get to them by that point, and chances are that Lucky Beast and the brown bear would've gotten themselves into position to lure the Cerulean onto the boat, making it possible for the two of them to sink the boat and complete their objective.

It doesn't seem like the battle against this black cerulean will lead them to an amusement park, so I guess the only way the next episode title makes sense is if the park is getting rebuilt by the end. Although the show could end just with Kaban deciding to do it, rather than a time skip to it opening.

I think it's very easy to resolve mostly because the bombers, the gods, the other island, and all that are largely fluff. They're vague points, except for maybe the gods, that exist to supplement the setting.

The main story here is that of Kaban's and we're pretty much at the end of it. She knows what she is, she knows where she belongs, from that point on it's up to the rest of the Friends to finish her story. Through out the journey they've set up clear plot threads that are all intertwining together to make all the reveals at the end incredibly smooth. It's all there.

The Park? Mirai? They're cleverly bound to Kaban's story as well so that won't be a problem.

For everything else well that's just the beauty of leaving things open for interpretation.

No. The park is not really saved. The filter reduces the concentration of sandstar in the air, but Sandstar eruption will still occur, so you still have to keep vigil at the mountain and maintain the filter after each eruption event.

The Prometheus thing fits Kaban way too well.
Kaban's demonstrated significant forethought in what she's done, and she's been accused theft, then there's the part where she creates fire. All of these fit the etymology of the word Prometheus.
She checks out on the account of Prometheus myth in bringing learning to the friends and significantly uplifting the friends' affair and bridging them closer to that vanished civilization of human beings.

The Tsuchinoko referred to Mirai there, not to humanity as a whole.

Maybe Serval's VA cried because in the end Kabag really was fine, and she shed tears of relief.

Re-watching the episode I noticed something:

The black cerulean very likely came from the crater, or at least very near from it: smaller foot prints near the crater, bigger the farther they are from it. (It kept growing as it was absorbing what was released)

Considering this, there is much more going on inside the crater. I also think it's valid to theorize that the filter failure wasn't caused by the eruption but by the black cerulean itself.

Other theory, since we saw actual weapons near the crater and we know that the black cerulean came from that place. What if the black cerulean (arguably the most dangerous of all) is sandstar'ed man made weapon?

Naturally, there are several questions that remain unanswered, who made/placed the filter?, what is that black sandstar?, etc...

I seriously hope we get more seasons that could address some of this and all the other things mentioned earlier once Kaban's adventure is over. Hopefully with Kaban and Serval again

You forgot to account for how that the original plan called for the bus, which is much faster than any friend. The black Cerulean would outpace the friends at its size, and just merely dashing towards the boat wouldn't be enough.

Kaban had to buy more time to let brown bear gain some lead distance. With Kaban's flame snuffed out, the Black Cerulean's remaining heat source to track would be the bear's, who may actually have reached the boat and got herself into position while Kaban kept the Cerulean occupied.

Actually, there is no sign that humans are endangered outside the park.

Remember that Mirai came from the outside to re/build the park so that it can be re/opened: That would be an strange priority for an endangered species.

So, before Mirai, humans were be doing alright.

Now after Mirai we have friends thriving, only signs of abandonment and the last humans were seen abandoning the place by boat and not that long ago: there is absolutely no sign of a great wars that happened during this period. (Things will look quite different and the friends will have a very different opinion of humans)

So, what about the planes? Well, looks like the park was indeed part of a big conflict that was somewhat controlled. Perhaps at the end of this period the filter was build (it doesn't seem like Mirai build it, I could be wrong, of course). But because the scattered Ceruleans remained, it was finally abandoned. However, all of this happened before Mirai and arguably the park became a containment zone.

I don't know how much the anime will follow the game's lore. But if that's the case then we'll have to ignore the bombers.

On the other hand, if I recall correctly, the game also specifies that the effects of the sand star disappear if you move too far away from the park also in anime canon the Ceruleans dislike water. These elements should be all we need to know to confirm that people is doing fine outside the park.

If that wasn't enough, the friends were doing pretty well on their own, with the only known (so far) source of sand star on their island.

The only question is whether they'll specifically use the anime canon for any future games/spin-offs/etc. or if they'll give whoever makes those the same kind of free reign they gave the anime staff for this show. In the anime, they made an effort to connect back to what happened in the game, but there were some inconsistencies.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we got a lighthearted spinoff anime reminiscent of the ones they did for Re:Zero, Attack on Titan, etc. that completely ignores the anime canon and is more like the manga.

There is really a lots of foreshadowing pointing toward extinction. They have advance tech to seal the sandstar, you would assume that bossu has the technology to use internet to contact outsiders for help.

Maybe that's because the humans know that dangerous Ceruleans are present in the park and stay away from it. They did clearly try to fight them at one point and lost.

I don't know why an AI designed to be a park guide would have the capability to call for help from outside of the park. Unless they were expecting routine enormous natural disasters or something, that functionality wouldn't be necessary at all, and it doesn't seem like Sandstar was that big of a problem initially.

In the game there was no extinction event and yet humanity still mostly left the Friends to fend for themselves.

Mirai's logs talked about evacuating people and in the latest one evacuating Friends, with no comment about anything that could suggest a worldwide disaster.

The anime tying the strong Ceruleans to the Sandstar mountain (which was the reason the park was built there, so it's clearly not a common resource) also effectively limits their operation range.

The nearby island would still be under the same Sandstar effect area of the park, which is why there wouldn't be anyone there either.

There was probably a huge fight between the humans and the ceruleans leaving both sides equally fucked. The humans promptly decided to set up a massive quarantine and no fly zone policy around the waters surrounding the park knowing full well that the four gods are capable regulating cerulean evolution.

Now this is a good question.

Considering the popularity of the anime, I think it's almost certain that a lot of projects will follow its canon. (At least the major ones)

With that said, I don't doubt they'll allow some freedom to the new projects BUT avoiding to "ruin" some aspects achieved with the anime. For example: don't fuck up the characters.
