We've already had the "saving vs. winning talk", so using that again would be redundant.

To look at what makes a hero: Heroes help people. Whether you're altruistic, or just in it for the fame, you're gonna help people. That's the common thread that ties them all together. So a true clash would be with someone who disregards that notion entirely.

But for someone who wants to be a hero to say "fuck the people a few can die and I won't care I'm just in it for the money", they'd have to be a fucking sociopath. Not to mention that would be way too edgy.

Has anyone talked about what Overhaul's name could mean? The kanji mean nothing, so we gotta go by the pronunciation itself.

Chi's kinda obvious: 血 is pronounced chi and means blood.

Saki is the stem form of saku, which I think works for two verbs: 咲く and 割く.

咲く means "to bloom" which could be a poetic way to describe how he makes people 'splode.

割く means to tear, rip up, and forcefully separate, among other things. This one is more likely.

Also, while not a verb, 作(saku as well) gets an honorable mention, as it means to produce/harvest.

All protag-tier major characters have got an Origins chapter. Shouto is the exception, but I think that with how much focus he gets in the manga, he could be considered a secondary protagonist. Iida and Yaoyozoru are not anywhere near that. The whole situation felt artificial. It was just the most forceful way to let Deku and Bakugou have a session of battle therapy, giving Deku a power up in the way out. Even Deku and one of the chapters' title comments on how pointless the fight is but being a shonen hero HE MUST DO IT. My guess is that Hori wrote himself into a corner where he wanted to develop Bakugou before starting the next arc where he wouldn't get a lot of screentime. He already has trouble juggling his enormous cast. and this arc introduced at least 2 new major characters. Time will tell if the rest of the big 3 will be relevant.
