Explain this to me /a/
It's world trending, but in Japan it's a fucking stampede.
>Friends ep. 11
>hacka in captcha
KABAN FUCKING DIEEEEEEEEEED
>fabled, infallible animation studio with dozens of classics under their belt
>btfo by three broke NEETs in a clubroom with a trial access to a 3d modeling program and VAs literally picked off the streets outside their window
>VA literally picked off the streets outside their window
>he doesn't understand the appeal of a lovely fresh-sounding shinjin seiyuu
Satelight did the same thing with Log Horizon, someone has to be the first ones to hire new talent, and it pays off.
Three people? Just three? Seriously?
>The first episode of Kemono Friends, available for free on Niconico Douga, had 3 million views as of March 13 and has become the second most watched anime episode on the website, only behind the first episode of 'Is the Order a Rabbit?' (8 million) and ahead of shows like 'Attack on Titan'.
It's cute when Japan still uses this meme in its original, classic form.
I think japs might be furries.
>when you browse Pixiv and can tell when a character was premiered based on the accompanying wave of fan art
They can't anon, it's almost the same as all the other combined.
It's just anons wanting to protect what they think is only theirs before this gets massive popular. The first threads were reall comfy with most of anons trying to convince you to be their friend
When we had to answer that very same question you're quoting ten hundred thousand million times. It gets really, really old when every special snowflake thinks he's the first stellar genius to stumble into this thread and say "lol this looks bad y u watch?"
>think is only theirs
after getting utterly ridiculed and ignored throughout the season, and then derided in stalker threads, it's kind of hard to welcome any sort of a turnaround at the last minute.
How about you stop fucking asking the same god damn question and just watch the show? You literally have two months worth of threads and even reactions straight from nipland all there for you be able to judge whether the show is good to watch.
>I thought you didn't give a shit
Who said that? That's rude, anon
I just watched the new episode I want to die guys
Its a cutesy show that turns out to be as deranged as STALKER.
Seriously, the ceruleans in Japari park are no different from the monsters from the zone.
Why shitposter want to destroy the KF friends in /a/? We were always on a single thread all the time. It is obvious that out of our general (yes its a general, deal with it) are false flagging jealous newshits who can't understand it and has to always resort into making us look bad.
Also, the Sandstar and its effects on both biological and inanimate objects put it way above the typical anomaly.
Is common knowledge that /a/ has a shit taste, but still this thread is for friends and no-friends to talk about that. If shit keeps like that, there will be another one in a week
It just seems very surprising, it didn't exactly seem to be the kind of show that would be discussed a lot. Then again, no one expected it to sell well anyway considering how the anime seemed to be a filler given that the game already closed.
We don't need more new hipster faggots to like the show because it popular or trending worldwide. The threads are already getting worst. I gave up on /a/ a long time ago but I am not giving up on my KF threads, my last bastion of like minded people of the older generation
>Japari Park is Australia
That explains too much
Well a Cerulean just stomp her little 8year old body against the ground and a there was a splash sound effect with it. That's why she's dead
More reason to talk about it, isn't? I mean, what's the appeal? The lore? The simplicity? The designs and backgrounds? How the fuck did this happened
>Well a Cerulean just stomp her little 8year old body against the ground and a there was a splash sound effect with it.
Are you for real? Is there a webm?
That sounds really out of nowhere for this anime.
Has there ever been a greater friendship in anime?
Not just the ED, you can say how terrible the CG is but the little details in the background, the hints of lore in their dialogue, and the setting is really really good that you ignore the 3D after and get absorbed and invested in the three main trio's journey. The buildup for this since episode 1 was great and didn't feel out of place.
Dude, seriously. Watch the first 3 episode and you'll see. Even with the ending you get that something shady is going on. The thread is archived but in the KF thread there should be a gif or something
>like the show because it popular or trending worldwide
just like most people in the general? How do you think it went from not hitting bump limit on airing day to 2~3 threads per day? The secret club / keep filthy westerners out of my fanbase attitude that appeared after the anime became popular here is much more annoying and invites shitposting.
I can't believe Serval and Kaban are fucking dead.
>One full of animals
>Ruins of old buildings
I don't think that's australia
>first 5 minutes
They really didn't do well with the chase scene. It's the most conspicuously poorly animated sequence in the whole show. The characters are disconnected from the background and sliding around with no sense of weight or speed, and there are strange cuts to first person. I think they got too ambitious and wanted a 3d showpiece up front.
Guess you were right, 2017 is going to be amazing.
Time to repeat this yet again. Sandstar
Reacts with organic tissues to form friends
Reacts with AI to form friends or inbetweens of Cerulean to Friends depending on level of sentience
Reacts with inorganic matter to form Cerulean
Friends are carbon based lifeforms who are very close to Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
Sugar, spice, and Sandstar Nice.
They're supposed to be made from the same stuff, just that ceruleans come from inorganic objects and this one seemed to be absorbing more of it.
Serval is fine, she moved her eyebrows after Kaban saved her
Its Kaban that's dead.
Technically its safest for Kaban to be eaten though, since she can't be turned into an animal again or have her memories erased. Instead she'll maybe just wind up in a coma.
It's a 10 person team and they decided that they needed to use CGI because it would be too hard to animate otherwise because of the animal patterns.
It's definitely cheap but the directing is on point.
Japari park = Nuked island confirmed
it's the most convincing execution of faux cel animation using 3D models i've seen. i mean, sure, one shot out of every two or three reliably looks crappy, but i think we've seen that it's *possible* to make a good anime with a 10-person staff and 3DCG. from here it's just going to be a matter of refining the techniques.
BELIEVE IN GAO!!
Keban is Prometheus, the bringer of fire and the greatest patron to humanity.
Why didn't Kaban realize that Cerulean vision is based on movement?
I'm not the anon your replied to but I agree with you. But I think the CGI isn't very "good" as in, trying to look as realistc or drawn as possible. The style however sold it for me as the only good CGI i've ever seen, because they have fun with it and make everything fit the style. It's a great technique and looks more like it's trying to be original instead of trying to look like drawn/realistic.
Then why would she stop moving? Now that it's crushed out the fire it's just going to go to sleep again. Brown bear probably would have come back once she realized it wasn't following her too.
Kaban most likely lured it towards the direction of sunrise so that when daylight comes it wouldn't be looking straight at an illuminated Serval but rather at the sun which will then make it move away from Serval.
>style however sold it for me as the only good CGI i've ever seen, because they have fun with it and make everything fit the style
>only good CGI
Come on anon, you really have seen no better CGI?
Not even Jojo OPs at least?
The plan was probably only possible with the speed of the bus.
The conversation with Bear after Serval fucking died implied that daybreak was coming soon since they emphasized needing to hurry because the plan will only work at night.
Damm it is really blowing it up there
>the cerulean in the first episode was wary of the paper airplane because it resembled bombers that were sent to the park before
I also like Urara and love them both but the two are different things. No need to compare it.
No. A survey was held about Kemono Friends and what fans like to see in the future.
Lowest answers are Famous VA and Better animation.
My question was genuine. I watched the first couple of minutes and discarded it but if it's actually good then I will give it an honest try. This is what I get for watching all of the shows at first. Discarding most shows just after a few minutes leads to mistakes.
But it isn't popular here anon. The thread lasted for days until a week ago. Is mostly, a lets try to see how many will bandwagon after this week
Also, that meme ain't real, no one here really thinks Maid Dragon was good
I've believe you anon, but this could be the last day anyone will believe that question, during the past 2 months hundreds of anons literally asked the same thing once and again.
Genuine feelings of innocence. Girls are dumb the animal way and they have their weaknesses, but it doesn't matter because everyone are friends.
If you're the resident masturbator, they'll still befriend you because they think you're amazing.
this series is like those faggoty "ash is in a coma" theories. DEEPfags will masturbate over it, normies will get hold of it, and it'll become nothing more than a cringey memory
save yourselves now, DEEPfags.
Because its legitimately a great anime.
Mine Yoshizaki designed 200+ friends and did made the lore.
Manga = continuity before Ceruleans, there are visitors and caretakers in charge of carefree friends Game = continuity where Friends are fighting against Ceruleans to save the park. Also, Caracal betrays Serval and becomes the final boss at the 2nd arc. Anime = continuity where shit hit the fan with a human-friend as protag.
Nah, we are just having fun. It's part of our hobby.
It's not as if we were discussing WH40k or something.
I think it's pretty interesting that the entire world is flipped on its axis and north is south.
What the fuck actually happened.
And how are they going to explain it all in one episode?
>Love Live and Aikatsu MCs VAs
>literally picked off the streets outside their window
It's because the studio is CGI studio.
And 1:35am timeslot is normal timeslot for midnight show, some shows even more late than that, in fact able to air it on TV Tokyo is already litte better than Tokyo MX since beginning(just little better, still a midnight show after all).
There are some anons that try to label this show as bottom as they can to show how it end up huge success.
I would say it's pretty bottom in the beginning, since the game already closed before it on air, and of course it's huge success right now.
But it's Kadokawa show after all, when the show start become popular, their marketing machine will start working and it's working right now, just like last year's Konosuba(also Kadokawa show), otherwise it won't become this level's success.
This company with bird logo sure keep winning in every season, but still better than Aniplex everywhere i guess.
> Kadokawa is just one of 10+ companies in production committee
And Kadokawa is the one will get the BD(Guidebook) money, get it? "just" one of 10+ companies doesn't matter, because they win the betting, again.
The anime wasn't dependent on the game or the manga, so the states of either doesn't affect it whatsoever. People tend to gloss over the fact the anime, the game, and the manga are all part of a multi-media project that makes up Kemono Friends. It just so happens that the anime ended up airing after both ended.
What if Boss flashing in the next episode preview is his countdown being triggered since Boss is actually a nuclear device that is programmed to blow up the entire island to prevent Ceruleans from getting off the island and infecting the rest of the world?
WHAT ABOUT THAT HOW BADASS WOULD THAT BE
Anons, listen carefully to the last scene again. Hear that? Not the "squish" before that. You thought it was the black cerulian falling on Kaban, but it didn't make the same sound when it attacked the bus. This is a different sound It's...
... the sound of a jet engine.
Mirai is alive! And she's returning with the Japari Cerulian Defense Force to save the island!
I'm being far too optimistic aren't I?
I bought CG show, so yeah Kadokawa will also going to thanks my money.
What will happen if anon goes full wild release?
Anyone get the feeling like Brown Bear has lost friends before?
It has claimed far too many victims already. And unlike the zone, there is nothing to be gained in venturing within these lands... unless one seeks a waifu.
this shit right here is why i don't watch weekly anymore fuck these bastards for this crazy cliffhanger bullshit. I can't wait another week, guys
One thing i find it pretty funny is some Kyoanifags seems think if this show don't exist, Maid Dragon would have a lot better sales.
But i'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with KF, because it just most Nips don't think Maid Dragon is worth for buying BDs, that's it.
>tfw 3d animator
The age of 3d is now here.
I honestly don't know why there is a fear of 3D taking over the industry. 2D and 3D can work and exist alongside each other. The bad/boring/bland 2D and 3D shows wont sell well but the good outstanding ones will. It was always like that since the top selling "anime" is a crudely yet entertaining show.
I didnt understand why she sacrificed herself. Can you explain me pls?
Rise my Friends. I have returned, never to leave your side again. Ceruleans sought to destroy me, but they have only made me stronger. Today, we march forward into our future. A stronger nakama. A tanoshii people, enhanced for the Sandstar world. The time has come, to claim this park as our own! The time has come, to destroy Cerulleans ! One vision. One purpose! Peace through power!
This cerulean is pretty smart as shown it it resorting to tumbling down just to catch the bus. It's also pretty fast and Kaban didn't really sacrifice herself, it's just that it's range and speed is pretty high that she gave up at the end.
5th Consecutive according to google translate.
But apparently it's a trail marker. Probably Fuji but other Japan mountains might have similar markers.
Here's anon's theory
>plan has failed
>most likely nearing day break(based on conversation with bear)
>if the area gets illuminated and serval is just lying down infront of it would just eat serval again
>Kaban lured the Cerulean so that it would be facing the direction where the sun would be rising so that it would immediately start walking towards the sun at the break of dawn and away from Serval before the entire area is fully illuminated
It's a marker for halway point of a mountain.
Half the mountain got destroyed.
Mt Fuji fifth station line
If we assume it is Mt Fuji, Japari Park is literally Japan like in the game and majority of Japan has sunk. If it is a replica, they made a man made mountain that has an equivalent height as mt fuji and they nuked the top half of the mountain till the fifth line.
Really makes you think eh?
But it makes sense for it to be used as a name marker though.
Different types of Sandstar (Alpha, Beta, etc...) and the Rho type in particular was the one that was being released in large quantities.
I am not that surprised. Japari Park is something like this miniature Japan according to the speculah that's been done. The game stages correspond to the archipelago.
Calm down, anons. Let's chant Japari park's five oaths!
I'll bury you alive!
back during the first cerulean war, before humanity was wiped out, kaban was a human who was part of a paratrooper team on a suicide mission to destroy the source of the ceruleans which is sandstar
now that she got some of her memories back she will now to whatever it takes to save the earth from the cerulean threat!
>Undeterred on becoming waifus themselves, bunch of anons make a settlement on Japari park.
>With anons all over the world wishing to experience the park themselves.
SUGOI! You're one of those friends who doesn't just watch something to find out on their own!
More nips really need to player STALKER. The very nature of Japari park is on par with the Zone.
You can't have that episode without a special, special cat.
It's funny how that our jokes have all turned out all too real with this anime.
>their plan to sink BigDog fails because the sun has set
>suddenly bigdog becomes sentient
>kaban has merged with the giant cerulean
>and she starts walking the giant behemoth into the sea
That would make Lion and her group Freedom then.
>Knowing that a gif of Serval being juggled between the bus and the big dog cerulean is inevitable.
I was talking about name recognition
Konosuba, popular LN
Tanya, not as popular as Konosuba but still quite popular. I think the LN hit #1 on LN sales chart recently.
Maiddragon, manga adaptation by bug name studio
LWA, very popular with gaijins
Bang, heavily shilled together with the game launch
Seiren, sequel to Amagami
Gundam IBO, gundam brand
Depends on how this one ends. If they just survive and don't really solve the Cerulian issue, the 2nd season could introduce more mysteries about the park with a way to actually stop them, following the same formula - slice of life stuff slowly escalating to the final battle.
If by the end of the next episode the Cerulians aren't a problem anymore and the park is reopening, they could go with an "actually, there's a 2nd island" set up, which was even already used in the game (Island Aku) - Although there it was mostly an excuse to feature various environment types in the side-stories while in the main story it took a long time to progress through the entire park. So, that avoided the plothole of the party going to a region they aren't supposed to have explored in the main story yet.
I except part of next episode to star Kaban inside of the Cerulean, like a scene from Eva where Shinji melted. Kaban is in some white world where she meets the Cerulean consciousness.
On the outside the friends fight the Cerulean to try to get her out.
Because nearly everything else is good.
Firstly, of course the character design is cute, this is important.
Then there's Character development, interesting trivia and fun tidbids, World setting and lore, Seiyuu that performed with charm and fun to hear. It really has everything.
>things no one said ever on /a/
this isn't /v/ anon, but typically when animation is this bad the show isn't supposed to get top 10 trending in the world and #1 in Japan, in fact that has never happened before.
Most of shows you saying become big because of anime, just like Kemono Friends right now.
I'm talking about before anime adaption announced.
Not counting Gundam of course because it's popular brand since many years ago.
Though it seems Seiren and Bang Dream kinda killed themselves.
"I can't fucking believe this. Why is it that these Tekkadan members would walk around on open street in full uniform! This is just inviting everyone to kill'em on sight. These people have less of a brain than Kaban-chan, who at the very least would've sought out moose to protect her and swap out of uniform. It's not just once or twice, but it's the third time in a roll that they got their buds kill in the same way.
They are worse than otter-chan!
Would they get the fuck back to Japari Park already!"
the list of animes whose threads have been maden 200 times in 2ch.
Well think about that Violet something by Kyoani, people in /a/ hype for the show just because of new CM, so yeah there are people in /a/ really think animation is the thing only matters for anime.
Good news is Nips don't think so, they like the show by actual watch it and see how is the story, tones etc, not just because "sakuga".
Explosive volcanic eruptions blow the top (or side) of a mountain off. That's what creates the caldera. Mt. St Helens was an explosive lateral eruption, for example. The volcanoes in hawaii with the lava pools and flows are effusive eruptions. t. geologist.
The mountain blew its lid in a massive eruption, spreading Sandstar across the entire planet. At some point in this extinction event the remaining humans likely decided to bomb Japari Park.
It's funny that neo /a/ seems to have forgotten how to have fun and enjoy the show. Konosuba and KF kinda proved you can't touch people's minds and hearts with just "flawless animation"
Yes I love Maid Dragon but fucking hell KyoAni butchered it and Cool's vision
Good because right now, the newest show over 200 threads in 2ch is because it's having positive reaction, not negative(Kan Colle).
Btw 2008-2010 was really the golden age of anime in 2ch isn't it.
Mount Fuji's due for an eruption honestly. It's expected.
That's the thing that makes me a bit worried. It doesn't feel to be that extreme in the game as it does in the anime. Right now I am seriously wondering if a global sandstar infestation is happening from what's been presented. A very good chunk of that volcano's been shaved off after all.
That shouldn't be an issue. That Black Cerulian is only dangerous because it can constantly replenish itself due to being near the source of Sandstar. Cerulians elsewhere wouldn't be nearly as powerful nor able to recover themselves like that.
Also, you'd think that if the outside world had been damaged Mirai would have mentioned it in her recordings.
It just so happens Japari Park shares alot of themes with STALKER.
>An area abandoned by man, now inhabited by strange creatures.
>Infested by unnatural hazards that bends reality itself.
>The person wandering it has no memory of their past life whatsoever.
Kaban is basically Strelok. Right down to the self-sacrifice.
