Not him and not a fightfag but there is something legit in what he says. After Enies Lobby, the only time Robin didn't play supporting role was Poseidon reveal, and even then it was just hype for the future. Nami and Chopper have gotten some focus in PH, Zou, and now, but I can understand people expecting more from them.

To me it's interesting that Oda introduces a character that can suck up poison and that the plan is to kill big mom with poison. It is also said that Judge's orders to Reiju are absolute. I can imagine something like this happening:

Judge and other characters who are important to the strawhats (Sanji, jinbei whatever) gets hit by the poison. Reiju only has time to save 1 of them and judge orders her to save him. Yet due to Sanji begging to choose to save his friend instead she chooses for her emotion the first time in her life.

Now I don't think Luffy will be hit again because Reiju already saved him once and he's kind of immune to poison. Sanji is a possibility but I hope not because he's getting pooped on this arc already. This leads me to think jinbei will be hit.

Do you think it's just a coincidence we have a character who can suck up poison and that the weapon to kill big mom is also poison?

No. What it is is a kind of writing mechanism. From the author's point of view, you don't move a character into the position of joining the crew only to say "Yeah.... but in like 5 years time." It serves no narrative purpose. Well, not unless you want to prime the audience with an expectation and then do the old bait and switch and kill him off.

It serves as a way to really drive home the tragedy. Just like how Ace being made Luffy's brother enhanced the emotion rather than if it was just Portgas D Ace, person that Luffy vaguely knew. The moment Ace was mentioned to be Luffy's bro, it should have been obvious that was setting up later leverage. Either Ace would die, or Ace would get captured and Luffy woudl try to save him. As it turns out, both happened. Or maybe Ace was being set up to save Luffy later if Luffy got imprisoned.

Either way, it was a pre-emptively placed narrative mechanism. Jinbe could've joined the SHs right there and then if Oda wanted, he's the master of it all, but he delayed it for a purpose.

That said, what is established by both of them is that they were heavily foreshadowed and built up and given very strong emotional links to the protagonist in various ways (i.e. brother; brother's father figure, rival of Roger, the protag's hero) which are things Jinbe also represents.

Ace was first introduced at the end of Drum Island and was really just dangled around as foreshadowing to get the audience familar with him (and him being the brother of Luffy was a shortcut to establishing why it would mean so much if he died, rather than having to build his relationship with Luffy up over 100s of chapters like, say, Zoro). WB was introduced in early Alabasta. Neither really fully became totally relevant until far later in Marinford. Jinbe was foreshadowed way back in the Arlong arc.

Ace and Luffy were brothers, they had a kind of pact with each other. Ace said "we'll meet again at the top!" and promised a future meeting. The next time they met, he died. Jinbe also made a promise to Luffy. At one point, Ace was arrested. That was his death flag given everything else. Jinbe's development has been handled a lot differently from the other Straw Hats. He was introduced as a surprise ally during Impel Down who would bond with Luffy throughout the war, ultimately serving to be a guiding light in his darkest hour. It wasn't until later, when he reappeared in Fishman Island, that we got context for his backstory and the situation surrounding Arlong. But his story still wasn't done there, because with Fishman Islands huge focus on the racial tensions and history of the island it failed to really delve into Jinbe's personal motivations, the relationship he has with the Sun Pirates or what he'd bring to the crew besides being Luffy's friend and an ex-warlord.

That's what his storyline in Whole Cake Island is about. We're seeing Jinbe not as an aloof wise man, but as someone on level with the crew. He's bringing his role as a strategist to the table in order to save another crewmate, the Sun Pirates are egging him on to follow his dreams like the Franky Family did back in Water 7, his previously hard exterior is breaking more and more as he becomes a part of the usual gags.

Jinbe is a layered character involved with a lot of different factions and subplots, so rather than rushing him into the crew Oda's been dissecting it all piece by piece to give everything an equal amount of attention. Whether its successful or not is a different story, but that's what it is. He still has major roles to fill later in the story, being the driving character of the Fishman subplot that's been around for literal years and will undoubtedly be relevant during the final saga. Without his personal ties to the Fishman race it loses a lot of its weight.

I also expect that part of it has to do with the fact Jinbe's presence would have detracted from the tension when the crew first entered the new world, so putting him on a bus for a bit worked in Oda's favor.

According to Jinbe, Brulee and Pedro, three characters coming from three separate factions who've never talked to each other before this arc, the Wheel of Fortune is rigged to steal away the lives of traitors the instant they touch it. Big Mom uses the device to dissuade people from attempting to break away from her family, and those who still have the guts to go through with it die on the spot. We even saw this in Pedro's flashback, so we're not just going on their word.

From what we know if Jinbe's situation, he went to Big Mom in the same circumstances. He was interested in leaving her, and she gave him the option to spin the wheel if he was really set on doing it. While the manga cuts away from the scene afterwards and leaves it as a suspenseful cliffhanger it's revealed through the local newspaper and gossip that he chickened out. Later on, when he comes in to break Luffy out of prison, Opera reacts to Jinbe by telling him he's banned from the castle at the moment. Meanwhile, his crew is currently fine and doesn't seem to have had any issues after Jinbe's attempted leave, still being on decent terms with Big Mom and working alongside Jinbe as if nothing happened.

For Jinbe to be doomed to die by the wheel, we need to take a lot of leaps in logic.The first is that Big Mom decided to leave him with a few days for some fucking reason, rather than killing him on the spot like we've seen it do to Pedro's crewmate. The second is that not only would Jinbe and Brulee need to be lying to everyone for no good reason, but they'd be printing a phony news story to the public just to smear his name for laughs. The Sun Pirates would also be either completely unaware of a situation that's already public, or would have to be surprisingly calm about Jinbe dying right before their eyes.

Now what's more likely? Everyone is telling the truth, and that he wheel was a plot device used to force Jinbe into the current alliance if he wants to be free? Or that he's marked for death?

It's never referenced in the comic itself but a few little details that allude to his history, like all the stab wounds on his zombie hinting that he was killed by a mob. It's just neat trivia.

I doubt Captain John's treasure is even relevant at this point anyway, now that Buggy's a warlord he's making money from his pirate dispatch business and looking to become the Pirate King. His treasure was more like a random motivator to push Buggy to adventure through the Grand Line before he became relevant to the story again in Impel Down. Probably why Oda felt comfortable leaving the explanation behind it so vague.
