There have been a few similarities but it's mostly in setting. The forbidden forest from the first episode is straight out of Harry Potter. Other than that HP has almost no focus on the MC's progression as a wizard and more about exploring his own past and connection with a villain that was established from the beginning. LWA is completely different.

The first draft of the second movie had a lot more input in the story by Imaishi and Wakabayashi. It was very action-driven. Akko was getting a wizard love interest from a different school, a rebellious bad boy-type love interest. The story was more dramatic and epic than "Enchanted Parade's".
