What made him worthy was his drive to help others. Now this drive is double edged and it has harmed him as much as it helps others. And I think autist-kun makes a solid point that Deku lacks the will to win a lot of the time in favor of helping others. But I don't think Deku was an 'objectively' bad candidate.

However yeah, on Paper Mirio is the much better person to choose and I understand Deku's anguish right now.

If it's Mangastream adding stuff - then the problem goes away.

But if it's NOT Mangastream adding stuff - if it's that the japanese release of chapter 106 with "TWIN STARS!" at the end got changed five days later to have the "TWIN STARS!" removed - and then to PROVE that the removal was needed having the RAWS of Volume 12 remove the "Twin Stars!"

Then it means the "alternate way" of reading Aizawa's monologue is almost certainly CORRECT - since the editors of Jump erased the "twin stars!" tagline five days later for the english release, and kept that erasure for the volume release."

I guess it's all about perspective. We can look at it from practicality and thinking of it like Todoroki's father. Breeding quirks and thinking that makes a good hero.
Or we can see it from All Might's point of view, that even though it might have been "better" to give it to someone with a powerful quirk. The true merit of a hero is based on his attitude to saving people. Not their overpowered quirks. Because quirks only get you so far. Actually, taglines or not - I'm sure Aizawa's speech is intentionally vague, and furthermore I think he's talking about Bakugou and Ochako specifically. The official translation of this page will be one of the pieces of evidence - I won't use MS since they're the least accurate. Fireden's just crashed and I am dead tired though - so I'm gonna go to bed. To make it up, I'll incoperate the Aizawa write up into one about the Provisional Exam as a whole - including all the signs that Toga was Camie.

Actually, I'm not touching Kaminari or Aoyama with a ten foot pole because people get heated real fast when you suggest one is the traitor over the other. Everything else is gonna be talked about though.

Not usually is the impression I get; the editor is given a rough outline by a mangaka, the mangaka hands in pencils and drafts, editor goes over it and sends it back if they feel it needs alterations, mangaka redoes anything needing doing then sends it back to be inked and shaded after editor okays it.

The exception is when you have a writer/artist team, in which case the editor goes over the script the writer came up with before the artist begins doing his pencils, then goes over the draft pencils when they're done, and then it's all finalised and published.

That thing with Deku was likely added later for the tankobon - for time constraints (as well as space issues in WSJ) reasons there's often a lot of things that get dropped for the serial release vs. the tankobon.

Either Hori meant he wanted to introduce Recovery Girl even prior to chapter 3 since she's very clearly tied to OfA's destructive nature - or that he wanted to have a "Izuku wakes up in the Hospital and Recovery Girl tells him that he's going to die if he keeps doing what he's doing" scene from the start. As it stands, Hori just points out that Izuku forgot the first time he was in the hospital room.

Look at pic related. It's got him and his mom. They're both freaking out.

Jirou's the same. Her parents are rock stars and pretty well-to-do (pretty interesting how different the two rich girls in class are), so it doesn't make sense that she'd be the traitor. Same with Tsuyu and her whole omake chapter.

Though brushing aside the traitor stuff for a moment, let's look at Aoyama himself:

The guy is super flashy, yet he never actually stands out. He makes silly quips, but is the only character who doesn't have ANYONE he hangs out with (you'll notice certain characters gravitate to one another: Like Sero and Satou, or Tokoyami and Kouda). His "quirk" is all sparkly and his costume is garish, yet he was able to hide when villains were right next to him in the forest, and wasn't found at all in USJ (I'm assuming he was hiding then too). And he tries to draw attention to himself, but I don't think he ever mentioned that he was the one who shot Compress (and no one ever brought it up for obvious reasons).

I don't have time to compile a big autistic slideshow right now, but believe me when I say he's a big mess of insecurities and self-loathing. My own personal theory is that if anyone in Class A is going to die, it's him.

Also, this doesn't have much to do with anything, but notice how he and his mom have the same eyes as the American cheerleaders back in the sports festival. It's odd, given how good Hori is at giving people their own unique eyes.

Gonna give you a nice primer on the world that is producing content for a publishing company, particularly graphic novels both American and Japanese.

The overall framework of the work is usually the first thing done, it takes some time and it's made specifically so that the editor knows whether or not the directions it'll be taking are fine.

Actual chapter production then varies by the publisher and timeframe, but by this point I believe SJ has mangaka write/draw the new chapters about 5-10 in advance, that way the editor has as much time as necessary to confirm everything. Any deadlines you're hearing about from a mangaka complaining are most likely for shit you won't see until months later. There are of course exceptions, such as HxH and Berserk, but it isn't the norm.

If the editor knows the over-all framework and is several chapters ahead, he'd be able to put in what he wants and feels is necessary. Same shit happens with the English editors as well. Chances are the online version has a different editor than the guy who does the physical copies, and the Mangastream one decided to just throw in that little tagline due to his own opinions on the manga.
