How long will it take for a 3rd season that focuses on the MA arc?

4 years probably. Murata should be able to finish the arc in 3-3.5 years, will depend of how much plot ONE adds (elder clearly won't be killed in s2) and how much Murata will extend the fights and scenes.

S2 clearly isn't coming out before 2018.

Where were we in the manga when S1 got announced? That would be a good reference. S2 is clearly being done as fast as possible after Murata is done with the content, it wasn't the same for S1. My point is that when S1 got announced S2 already had some content available, while that won't be the case for S3, so more time to wait.

It could easily be ready for 2018 but for late 2017, Im starting to doubt it unless Murata starts releasing like crazy, right now the manga is on hiatus.

He mentioned in a past interview that they will start working on Season 2 once they have 14 Volumes released, and Volume 13 will be out in 3 weeks.
