It's not on a lower budget. Go back and rewatch the first 50 episodes, there are actually quite a few instances of terrible animation, and on top of that I don't think Gintama has gone downhill at all even since the director switched (and I was apprehensive about it at first, too).

The gorilla just want to end the series, so everything is getting rushed to conclusion, with the manga ending this year.

I have to agree it was fine until I reached a hundred episodes when all their jokes just got stale.

No one will take the BDs and add Rumble subs in your lifetime.

You're in for a ride. One advice, when you finally got into Benizakura arc I suggest you watch the movie instead. Overall the movie feels more complete and it had better animations especially in fights. Benizakura arc is Episodes 58-61.

See this was the problem. It should have stopped at the shogun assassination arc because they clearly had to cut corners because of how they handled the budget in the first half of the 2015 series. Honestly the shogun assassination arc would have been brilliant if it had the same level of polish as the Four Devas arc.
