s1 was much more kiddie (humor def didnt appeal to me) but s2 was better. u might drop during s1 tho if you really can't stand it, but I thought it was fine.

Sometimes the tone gets darker to fit with the assassination theme, but it never gets visually dark.
S1 is just okay. S2 was fairly solid. I'm not sure that I'd marathon it though.

It's not like AssClass isn't popular on /a/, it's just that after a series ends, and there's no sequel/end of hiatus/related different media project in sight, there's just so much you can say about it before the people interested in it stop talking about it, and new people are unlikely to pick up and want to talk about a series that's already ended. Stuff like Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, or Toradora! were immensely popular when they aired, but also don't get many threads now, yet don't get many threads.
Of course, there are exceptions, like for example someone dumping a series and people reading/discussing it all over again, but it's just natural that discussion about stuff dies out after a while.
Discussion about AssClass was pretty heated when it was still happening, and it is rather popular in general, it's just that series is dead and 99% not reviving, so there's little left to discuss.

But Code Geass is getting a sequel

Then threads are going to pop up again naturally.
