The issue with that is that, further into the series, Nisio got really hung up on it being a true eternal love and so on. In Bake, him & Crab got together because they enjoyed each other's intimate company a lot and they're both horny teens so why not. There was a pretty clear tonal shift further into the series but not in every aspect, with Araragi still physically and mentally being a horny teen with everything in the story shitting on him for being that. Everything implies that Crab's pretty much the same but since she hardly gets any screentime everyone forgets that I guess.

In regards to Math, her & Araragi come off as a good match because their entire conflicts are an inverse of each other's I guess. Both mindlessly benevolent but Araragi dealing with no one giving a shit about her while not sacrificing her way of thought, whereas Araragi is dealing with trying (and mostly failing from Second Season right up to the end of Owari) to live up to the impossible image/expectations the people around him have now created while not sacrificing his way of thought.
