One day, the ojou-sama Kurumi with a strong sense of justice was attacked by the mysterious existence known as “Spirits” and was rescued by a girl calling herself Takamiya Mio.
“Form a contract with me and let’s defeat the spirits together!” said Mio and Kurumi who had accepted her invitation was implanted with a sephira.

For a while Kurumi hunted the “Spirits” together with Mio but, one day she discovered that the “Spirits” were humans that were incompatible after being implanted with the sephira and so they become violent and turned into monsters.

According to Mio, as the sephira is incomplete, there is a need to refine it(them?) through the multiple repeated cycle of: Implant in human-->Rampage-->Kill and Retrieve. In short, Kurumi was made to bear the role of being an accomplice in killing people for the sake of Mio’s goals. However, since Kurumi had found out about it only after she had killed her close friend that transformed into a monster with her very own hands it was a disaster. With that as the start, Kurumi parted from Mio and made going back in time and erasing the fact that spirits originally existed as her goal.

Looks like there's a possibility of Kotori having future issues.
