Looking for a moderately experienced cleaner willing to do anywhere between 1 and 9 volumes of this stuff. Translations are ready, typesetters are lined up, someone is willing to redraw, it just needs someone willing to clean.
Pic related is the kind of raws you should expect, this one is 25% size to fit the size limits though.

>>
>>154744551
>Itadakimasu
You forgot the translator's note. Some people might not know what that means, so you need a little explanation for them.

TN: "Itadakimasu" is an essential phrase in your Japanese vocabulary. It's often translated as "I humbly receive," but in a mealtime setting, it's compared to "Let's eat," "Bon appétit," or "Thanks for the food." Some even liken it to the religious tradition of saying grace before eating.
But the uses for itadakimasu extend far beyond food. And though its roots are ancient, saying the phrase before meals is a fairly recent Japanese custom. Get ready to dig in. You are going to learn the history, uses, meaning, and philosophy behind itadakimasu.
In its simplest form, Itadakimasu 頂きます is used before receiving something. That's why the most common itadakimasu translation is:
頂きます(いただきます)
to receive; to get; to accept; to take (humble).
This explains why you say it before you eat. You're "receiving" food, after all.

It's gonna take more than a script to fix it this time. They changed their viewer to one that's similar to the BookWalker web one. There's a single viewer canvas and the pages+everything else is rendered on it, dropping is ineffective now. Download method changed too, it's not scrambled images anymore. That's a can of worms I'm not getting into, I'll let China deal with it.
Rakuten also fixed their coupons like a week after I talked about them here, it's almost as if they watch these threads.
>>
>>154752054

That would be all of them. Except the first few pages which were checked by a friend of mine, who unfortunately isn't interested in fixing the rest.
>>
Not working on anything at the moment tb͏h
>>
>>154752054
It takes almost no work to get the old script working with the new viewer. The only problem is that pages are merged now so you have to split them.
>>
>>154752867
Which isn't really a problem since you can work around it with actions in Photoshop. I just wish I had a script that works.

>>154753589

>>
>>154753589
Because I'm still making changes to it, it's not done but it works well enough if people need to use it asap.
Also I forgot you could even do that, I usually just make changes myself and don't post them.
>>
>>154753685
No offense, just asking anon.
>>
>>154749970
You want someone to proofread 75 pages? That's not a small task.
>>
>>154753263
Oh now I see why you (or some other anon) was saying the @Grant thing worked. In the latest version of FF and GM, which I apparently didn't have at the time, it makes the GM script run in a different context where the .toDataURL and .toBlob functions actually do exist making my workaround entirely useless.
Well, canvas dropping will work until they make it so the function drawing the images scales them after descrambling and before drawing.
Shipping the canvas data to a server running PHP with GD enabled would probably be a better idea for cropping, JS isn't very amazing at that.
>>
Do you guys get paid for scanlating ? If there is, how much ?
>>
>>154753902
Not proofread, he wants a TL check.
It's not really much to ask, it just depends on how much free time one has.
>>
>>154753263

Can you implement the canvas mouseclick simulation from the other script so I don't have to click through an entire magazine manually?
>>
>>154753263
It's kind of funny how much empty space their canvas has now.
>>
>>154754178
I don't have the other script, but I don't know if there's any way to tell that the canvas is done loading so automating clicks would be fairly likely to miss pages with how they have it set up now.

>>154754321
Yeah, the entire screen is just one big canvas now. It's fairly trivial to get rid of all the blank space with a Photoshop action. I'm trying to write a script that would basically run that action on an entire folder and then split it into individual pages, but I haven't worked with Photoshop scripting before so it's taking a while.
>>
>>154754423
Photoshop's scripting code is based on JavaScript isn't it? If so you at least already have experience, I've always wanted to write some scripts for Photoshop but since I never learned anything other than C it never happened.

>>
>>154754525

I've been trying to get the series translated for years, and finally decided to do a retranslation to see if getting it tl-checked would be easier. If someone decides that translating it from scratch is a better use of his time, I won't complain.

I'm sorry for asking here, but my gammas and hues are fucked, and this affects image editing to a certain degree.
I use f.lux so I can look at my screen during the night. However, I once played around with the settings of my GPU (S3, integrated), and it said it had "reset" the gamma, hue and so on. That wasn't a problem yet; I just turned f.lux back on and continued whatever I was doing.

The next morning, I noticed that certain images looked warmer. Those on wikipedia, for example. Some images on /a/, too.

I'm on XP, so there isn't a colour calibration option in the OS itself. S3 manager has completely fucked itself, too.

What am I supposed to do?

Greyscale is fine for greyscale images. Depending on how much you care about quality vs image size, you can just leave greyscale things at 256 colors to be lossless. Don't reduce the number of colors too low if there's gradients, because it'll cause banding.

>>
>>154786922

If you run Photostop's trim transparent pixels, you'll notice that EBJ added a dumb graphic on the side (a book spine shadow). Also, the amount of whitespace is not consistent, even among books with the same resolution. You'll probably have to write a new action for every book you rip to get rid of the whitespace on the side. If you try to use an all-in-one crop script, you'll probably crop too much on a different book.
>>
>>154787784
I've never worked with color pages before if it's the images before editing, just go with PNG, if it's the final product then I guess you could try JPG at maximum quality.
>>
>>154788362
It's pretty easy to deal with that. You just need to crop away all semi-transparent pixels in addition to transparent and you'll be left with only the page.
>>
>>154789102

Oh, they're semi-transparent? That makes things easier.
>>
EBJhooker is making FF crash because it's using toDataURL and then opening that in a new tab, which seems to cause some pretty hardcore memory allocation problems with Firefox and at some point it just runs out of control.
Convert it to use toBlob and save to disk with

Maybe the other anon will see it and integrate it in his fix, if he ever finishes it. I've got way more important stuff to do right now and I'm buying everything off rakuten these days, so I probably won't bother with making my own script work again.
Expires in an hour by the way.
>>
>>154791615

I wonder if Rakuten will put their 450 coupons up again. If they just had comparable resolution to EBJ I'd prefer them.
>>
>>154791746
Most stuff is exactly the same you know. All the Kadokawa mags are 1.6k and pixel to pixel identical to EBJ, ichijinsha stuff is ~2k for tanks and 1.6k for mags, but the rakuten ones tend to look less horrible somehow. Jump stuff is 1.2k and looks horrible everywhere so it doesn't matter much.
Older, as in pre-2015, Kado stuff is 1.2k though, I think EBJ has a few series that look better then.

A couple years ago there was an namefag that dumped translations and raws of yuuyami tokkoutai here, would anyone happen to know if the raws are still floating around? I was thinking about asking them if I could use their translation because the group originally working on it died a while ago, and he had up to volume five or so. All the old links are gone.

Before you start, even before you start reading guides on cleaning. Learn the basics of Photoshop first. This might seem like a waste of time. It isn't. Having an understanding of how Photoshop and image editing in general works will increase the quality of your work significantly. It's also worth learning some basic colour management.

For example
Do you know how to set up Photoshop to achieve the best performance on your computer?
Do you know what a scratch disk is?
Do you know the hotkeys for the most used tools?
Do you know the difference between fill and opacity?
Do you know the difference between raster output and vector output?
A quick tutorial will explain all of this

New Cambrian chapter

https://ciaranhillock.tumblr.com/post/158629837298/cambrian-chapter-27-courtship
>>
I've got to ask someone since I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas.

There was a recently posted first chapter (Japanese) of a rich NEET that got isekai'd to a fantasy world. After selling a modern tablet that soon ran out of battery, he ended up getting in debt and working at a mine digging for mana crystals or some shit. He tempted a lizardman coworker into going deep into the mines with him where he met a dragon and, long story short, to avoid getting eaten he ended up taking a loli that appeared out of the dragon's head to a restaurant to eat her fill of civilized, seasoned and well-cooked dishes.

Does this spark a memory in anyone's brain here? I really want to find it again. The art was quite good and the protagonist was a refreshing cunt that wasn't too edgy nor overly virtuous.

Nah, they're completely retarded. They work well as verbs, like saying a phone "buzzed," but if you actually write them out on a page to represent the sound then it just doesn't look right.
Japanese just has the problem that they pick weird as shit onomatopoeia for everything, but at least you can use them as both verbs and sound effects.
