I watched the Girl Who Leapt Through Time last night, wasn't all that impressed to be honest. It was fine, a fun watch, but nothing memorable or special. I don't think there's that many good anime movies, excluding kon, oshii, andmiyazaki. But maybe I just haven't watched enough

Not a big Hododa fan myself. For post-2000 movies I think Hara and Katabuchi are more interesting

i remember it being great until the end
tv=trash
movie=boring
OVAs are the best form of animated media from Japan. Big enough budget to actually look impressive compared to TV anime and it allows mutliple episodes to tell a more in depth story than you can get in one average length movie.

Depends on where you wanna draw the cutoff line for great.
