That's pretty much Andrew's own development path that in essence has little to do with the main plot aside the main character opening his eyes.

Akko's case is different. Her development is going to end up pretty much linked to the main plot due to Ursula/Chariot.

If anything, whoever actions Andy's dad might do, will probably make more relevant than Andrew's. Andrew is just one of the cataliysts in stopping said actions when shit hits the fan.

You've just said two contradictory things.

If Andrew's character arc is mostly concerned with him rebelling against his father, and his father is the one who is against Luna Nova and witchcraft, then obviously Andrew is going to play a pivotal role in shutting down his fathers plans when he's convinced by Akko that magic is a worthwhile endeavour. That's hardly "little to do with the main plot", it ties into the core themes of the show, as Akko is acting as a somewhat Shiny Chariot for Andrew, he won't necessarily want o be a wizard but he will fight for magic's continued existence.

If anything what's going to happen with the new witch characters that are going to be introduced and whatever their history is, that's a secondary plot, since it'll likely tie less into the themes of the show.

I was never denying that. I think he's pretty much second to Akko in that regard. However, unlike him, Akko still has a long way to go. And if Andy reached this point of development this early, it will probably mean he won't get another important amout of it until very late this show because it's time for other characters to start getting it.

Now, I believe next time he appears, he won't be featured, like in the other two episodes, but he'll probably start doing or saying something to help Akko's group.
