Plot was fairly ambitious and ballsy, though. You may either love or hate the ending. Here's how you fix this shit.

Retcon EVERYTHING.

The Ereka and Renton are legendary and "the first contact" etc etc. So they are written out and given a place of legend status.

Gekko state are surfers/freedom fighters who're just cruising around having adventures.
Dominic is the younger brother of Thurston that was with their grandfather on that island. He wanted to join the military in spite of his brother so that he could I don't know protect everyone from the evil corals.

Cue something fucked happening and his town being mostly destroyed. He finds the mecha ship that his grandfather was hiding/repairing and leaped in to save the town.
Cue crazy mindfuck stuff where he sees visions of the corals the world being destroyed etc etc.

He thinks it's a vision of the future of the corals destroying the world but we all know that it's basically a vision of the past and it was trying to tell him of the truth of the world.

He wins but the military comes in and tries to destroy him and the ship, becuase...apparently it's hardcore shit. They take his grandfather into custody and knock him out cold.

Cue him waking up with a pink haired girl sitting in the room. She's a bit flighty and cunty but she seems nice enough. He's smitten but he's also upset about everything that went on.

Cue him thinking that she's locked up as well he tries to "rescue" her and does a pretty good job of fighting an armed guard.

He's knocked out again though.
He wakes up to gunfire smoke and his cell door opening. His brother is standing there glowering at him. He drags him out of the place and they escape out of an adjacent window admist a hail of gunfire. He tells him there was a girl we have to go back. He punches him and says "Stop being fucking stupid we have to go"

End ep 1.


Cue brothers fighting, tall ho being a hot piece of ass but also being all motherly over the three orphans that she saved. The crew being them selves and Dominic learning the truth.
