Einhart's style seems to be the most effective.

I finished Strikers earlier today. I haven't felt bad for an anime ending in a long time, a lot of characters grew on me, Tia and Subaru especially.
My only problem was the slide show ending, they should have spent another 13 episodes to give Nanoha the ending it deserved instead of a simple powerpoint presentation.

First season needs a bit of patience (not wanting huge oomphs ever episode from the start), being able to stand a bit of cheap/dated digi animation. And appreciation of some stylistic weirdness and historic value of seeing the original thing instead of the polished remake (which would be the movie version).

Also fondness of good endings.

Second season is really for everybody. With the exception that you have to stomach the pedo fanservice (transformations etc) and also you must not mind the yuri subtext and or shipping amongst the fans.

It doesn't have much edge, death, "dark" stuff and so on, so if you are in for that, you might be disappointed. Not that there aren't sad moments, but ss said, it is show for people who like the plot to end up mostly happily in the end.

I'd like to think that the newer devices are related to the newer characters that have them not having to fight huge threats.

I mean, Nanoha, Fate, and the rest all have practical, compact devices that turn into weapons and other stuff for their trade, and can be easily upgraded. This reflects their status as military and defenders and fighters, routinely engaging in life-or-befriending combat to the finish.

Einhardt, Vivio, and Fuuka don't have this. They have plushies. They don't engage in life-threatening fights on a regular basis, and don't need weapons because their fights never really go far beyond empowered fisticuffs. They have less imposing and practical devices because their need for it is minimal at best.

Why does Rinne have an object-oriented Device, then? She's an edgy tryhard that sees herself as a fighter. It's still not a proper Device that turns into a weapon, though, outing her as basically an edgy poser. Like those kids that call themselves samurai because they own a dull katana replica that they swing at trees sometimes.

At this point we've got shitposters shitposting about shitposters shitposting about others posting shit they don't personally like, and I don't know which way is up anymore.

There are clearly different types of energy involved. For example, magic circles are clearly made out of some sort but don't blow up or damage anything like the blasts that they're involved in generating. Perhaps there's a sort of structural magical energy. Possibly even multiple types of structural energy which would explain the thing inside the sword that you're referring to. Maybe that part is involved in the generation of the rest of the sword similar to how a magical circle helps generate a blast.

His character design when transformed is really edgy, and teh concept of his superpowers he gets is too (against his will), but his actual attitude is okay.

It would be harsh to eliminate him from the series basically just because he's a boy. Even saying that as a yurifag that would otherwise go and ship Isis and Lily.

Mainly when I look at that Levi picture, I think it is not that unreasonable (at least on a girl). It is supposed to look evil, like something you would have on a boss (like the BoD defence program mess in As).

Actually now that I think about it, the main problem are the weapons (the gunblades), those are fucking gay and don't match into Nanohaverse. Just the BJ with blades and shit that Thoma has would be Okay if he had a better weapon, IMHO.
