ITT: Obscure animes that no one besides you remembers
never met a single person irl who has seen or heard of this
I remember me and my friend have game of
"mention anime titles from two season ago."
from memory/Without googling of course.
There is a season that the only anime we remember is Bakemonogatari.
soko ni blahblahblah blahblah LONELY BOOOOOY
#6 reporting in.
Also, obligatory UN-GO mention.
I used to watch these in AXN back in the day along with Galaxy Angel, Gate Keepers, Dual, Ayashino Ceres, and that one show where two girls get isekai'd into a world filled with midgets.
They're in some serious potato quality though.
>How do you think I got into anime in the first place?
By escaping your loneliness into an environment of wish fulfillment ?
Dem i remember this, I remember watching MM after that. Those were the days where I'd skip school just to binge watch anime.
Remember the Disaster Movie Project?
Not like you are exactly missing out, but I bet it could have a fair share of fans.
I was planing to watch that an Big Wars and Venus Wars.
I watched this one, I know that, and yet I dont remember a thing about it.
Is it the one where there's a girl that attracts boys because of some aura or the one where the MC does parkour?
>the opening and ED were shot down from youtube
They are really bad from every possible aspect. Technically they represent the era when digitization wasn't as competent as today and look like stale garbage. Plotwise they represent the era when anime started to pander more and more to a niche audience, even more than ever before.
They are by majority really, really bad. But still somehow really relaxing.
I'm just saying that even if you recognize something as technically 'bad' the enjoyment you get out of it should still be regarded as some kind of good.
>This is terrible but I like it.
That doesn't make sense to me.
It's about subjectivity and realizing some factors that are widely considered terrible are what you find enjoyable. Bit like getting hit if you're a masochist. I don't know if this makes any sense.
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi
Brown girl with red eyes is cute
I dont think I ever seen a single thread when this aired.
But why should you care about the public consensus when enjoying something? If anything it's just disagreeing with everyone else. Masochists don't like being relative to what other people like, they just like being hit
It's cowardly to hide what you like by saying 'it's so bad it's good.'
had some top tier waifus
un-go had such a comfy ED, one of the handful of shows where I didn't skip it
I only got into anime 5 years ago and I still find early-mid 2000s stuff relaxing (the fact that I watched stuff like beyblade around that time as well as seeing my siblings watch anime might help with that)
i didn't come to /a/ when this aired, but i've never once seen it mentioned
This was good and you probably haven't seen it, so I post it even though I watched it just yesterday.
Watched it a few weeks ago, good stuff
Typical anime adaptation that explains literally nothing and expected you to read the manga.
There was almost no thread when this show was airing but I'm surprised that she managed to get into Musou Starts roosters.
Is she popular in Japan?
I thought that pic related is the one everyone forgot after falling asleep in the first half hour, but I'm not sure after I've seen the bdmv rip on nyaa getting 155 leechers almost immediately after upload.
i like ryoko case files
i call it chinese x files
i fucking love the ed, its stuck in my head all the time
Mon Colle Knights
Nanatsuiro Drops (apparently that is a porn VN as well, not surprising)
Kind of disappointing how Abenobashi turned out. Watching the first few episodes, I had high hopes for it.
I'm watching this right now and I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention it before. It's sort of like a worse Trigun with boobs so far.
watching right now
This dumpster fire of an anime may have been one of the worst things I have ever watched. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
well since the thread is still going
I love how Chihaya went full psycho on this for some reason
I feel like re-watching it all over again. The anime adaptation was a bit lackluster, but I clearly remember the ending being a great bitter-sweet finish.
>tfw this is the anime that seriously got me into weeb shit
I'm pretty sure there are a good number of people, myself included, who sat through it just for Chimeko.
Already a thing.

You had Yugioh. You had Beyblade. And then you had motherfucking Medabots.
It's not exactly obscure but I hardly ever see it talked about on this board.
Oh fuck, this is the one I always post. It's one of my favorite series of all time, and yet pretty much nobody on /a/ has seen it.
Actually, last time I posted it, some anon said he was downloading it. I wonder if he liked it.
I can't remember the name but I once watched a short action/horror anime that took place during the early 90s. It featured a female protagonist in buisiness attire who drank straight vodka all troughout the show. The second or third episode was a zombie episode and the intro music was death metal. As in serious 100% real death metal.
It's set during the 90s. I never said it was from the 90s. I just googled it and it's supposedly made by one of the biggest names in the industry, so yeah. It's not very obscure.
Never heard anyone else even mention this fucking thing
I dropped it 9 episodes in but the opening theme song was cool
Gunparade March. It was actually the first anime I had watched in like 3-4 years and got me back into regular watching. No idea why though, the show was the pinnacle of mediocre
Why did no one else watch this? The OP is so catchy.
I've never seen anyone mention this, even in other obscure anime threads.
Ken'yu Densetsu Yaiba
Mirmo de Pon!
The local cartoon channels here localized some weird shit back then.
Every thread until I find my brothers who also subjected themselves to this garbage for the sake of titties
For the three or four of you out there that have seen it, the theme song should spring directly into your brain immediately.
Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin
Right here, senpai. Hated all of it when all said and done alongside this abomination of tits and Lewis Caroll wanking
There's gotta be someone else that watched it. I doubt it's too obscure.
All I remember about this was the author wanted the ending to be a ghost love story between MC and 1 girl and he got so many death threats that he made magic clones and got a harem end or some shit.
People dropped it after she wanted to NTR MC
Are you trolling or what
Genuinely enjoyed this and to this day I still have no idea why.
I recall threads when it was airing, but I haven't seen it mentioned in years.
BPS AND THE ISABEL ADJAAAANI GAG GOT ME TO WATCH POSSESSION AND THE DRIVER
used to be pretty popular in latin america back in the day, dont know if it aired on burgerland.
Although it's well known in japan and has a live action drama, I've NEVER seen anyone mention it here.
It's basically GTO with a female teacher that's like next a yakuza princess. I think I watched it dubbed, and it wasn't too bad. Like a little GTO mixed with some Cromartie High school.
I love the English dub with all of my heart.
Not as huge of a day as I let on to be so I'm vouriouse on how obscure is this
The show was about apples and trying to get into the pantsu of a terminally ill kid. There may have been some planes involved aswell.
If we include obscure manga, my answer is this one.
I like you
I liked Coppelion. I wish the anime went longer because shit goes fucking INSANE later on.
I won't give much away, but there's giant robot fights and almost WW3
I could be wrong but the only reason I remember it is because of this girl right here
Not gonna lie here but dub is better than sub 100 percent. Especially Hillary Haag's voice was good for Yasuna
the manga blew me away. I was expecting something good but boy it did not shy in delivering
Like it or not, but best-selling stuff tends to have some hook (cool setting, characters, powers, whatever) that is interesting enough to draw people in even when the work itself isn't very good. Most shows ITT don't have even that.
shows with GOTY tend to stick with you
Thanks for proving you're a retard
Popularity or being remembered is in no way a sign of qualty. I fail to see "the hook" in shit like Naruto or SAO that makes them in ANY WAY better than some stuff posted here
Still one of most memorable anime
I somehow can't find all my tanned goodness webms.
no one ever talks about Rainbow here
I'm the only one that remembers this show right?
I dont remember anyone ever talking about this
The manga was absolutely brilliant and got better and better as it went on
It's a shame only the slow start got animated, I want to see a genki trap do fun things!
what about this one i cant even remember where or when i saw it first but nobody ever knew what i was talking about when i brought it up
That was already posted in this thread.
That or in the other identical thread up right now.
I watched it, it was nice, although the last arc is really obviously padded and dragged out to make one episode's worth of content last three or four. Wish there was more of it.
I'll watch it.
>that one show where two girls get isekai'd into a world filled with midgets
It was decent.
Most people like romance, action and don't like to read when they're watching something. Mouryo is a really good show, but I can see why it's not exactly a big audience magnet.
It's full of mystery and passion and weid things, enough to keep up the interest until the end.
I thought /a/ was elitist enough to appreciate something like that, more at least.
I don't think I've ever seen even a single post about this show. Not surprising, utter garbage. ED was the shit though.
Not exactly obscure as it was quite popular in Asia and Latin America, but it doesn't seem to be well-known in the West. Which is a shame since it was a pretty fun series.
obscure as fuck.
used to enjoy watching it as a kid, but now that i think of it was pretty fucking bad.
Kikuko Inoue was her seiyuu.
Incidentally, most of the characters' names are based on months. Yayoi Sanzennin= old Japanese name for March + a name with the number three (san) in there.
I still have a place in my heart for Happy Lesson.
What? In my country, Mirmo, Super Gals, and InuYasha aired on Hero (InuYasha also aired on Animax I think, but the other two never did).
What country, by any chance?
Same as the one you're sleeping in. I'm just putting them together because they were airing in the same timeframe.
Nobody remembers this and they shouldn't, It's fucking terrible outside the OP and the transformation
It wasn't very memorable- I think I saw the first 4 eps or so. The characters were stereotypes (including the excessively jailbait loli) and the plots and mechas cookie-cutter.
So the "memorable" things like DB, SAO and SnK are "good"?
Kill yourself. Also, nice bullshit. Have you even looked at the thread? None of the shows posted are modern seasonal stuff
Also, because discussion is heavily focused on the newest stuff, old stuff that's already been discussed seems "forgotten" because nobody talks about it anymore.
I need to go back and watch this from the beginning but what I remember of this was awesome.
Does this one count? Used to watch it every morning when I was a kid. Never seen a thread about it here.
Probably will be less obscure soon since AIC announced a sequel/remake.
>tfw you will never be an apache killing t-80s from 20 miles away.
No, the spinoff was about the brown musclegirl during her merc days. Anime just stops right before their actual adventure which makes everything else seem like practice/warmup.
