>soma will somehow produce a better soba than the girl who was raised with soba because of a polar star gimmick
>He will also defeat the 1st seat by 'you didnt taste your food while cooking'
>Azami will go down because Erina will be one the judges and the 'I cooked it for YOUUUU" power Soma pulls out of his ass will hand him the victory
Fucking hell why do I have a feeling it all end this way?
I found the answers the Mangaka answered on twitter
Was this before or during Azami arc? If it was before then that means that when he said that the "main herione is still a secret" that was during the time people thought Megumi was the MAIN Herione while Erina was the Main protagonist. So pretty much during that time of delusional people thinking Megumi was the true Herione it's false, Erina was always the MAIN Herione while Megumi is just the second herione/third main character lol.
The most important part of this chapter...
How did he know?
>main heroine is still a secret
A very poorly hidden secret
They do make this giant point about Jouichirou basically being on the verge of An Heroing before he met Souma Mom
>Megumi's dark side
Why do I think this is going to be how Rindou's cooking style is revealed?
Like it's a fucking cooking manga but I unironically think Rindou will make the evil in a person come out during a Shokugeki. Evil cooking.
>What was the explanation for this?
"For starters, Erina seats in the center, Alice tries to sit by her side but Hisako interferes.
Erina makes eye contact with Megumi and she offers her a seat.
She intended to thank Souma but he was talking loudly with Takumi so it was hard to say anything.
Hayama didn't care and Mimasaka really likes corners."
>doesn't know whether he will continue the series all the way to soumas graduation
No shit, high school WSJ series 99/100 times ends in the first fucking year. It always ends up first year fighting third years just like we're having right now.
Only stuff like Nisekoi where there's no battling element what so ever can avoid this. Even something as old as Whistle just does time skips out the ass and ignores the rest of the years beyond the first.
It's very hard for writers to keep a series fresh when 3 years of high school are basically very similar, and require a lot of thought to make sense of introducing tons of new shit happening. Diamond no Ace did it by going 400+ fucking chapters where the MC isn't even the MC and is a bench boy and we still don't know if the series will make it to graduation. Ippo on the other hand just acted as if school never existed.
>unleashing the true power of her blood; the long forgotten cooking arts of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Wait since when did Shokugeki no Soma turn into my Chinese Cultivation novels?
He's probably annoyed that some twinks took his seat. I mean the guy is 3rd, which means other than the overpowered duo and maybe Momo there's really no one threatening him at all.
Outside of confirming Souma's mom status everything else is kinda eh.
Even though it says we've only seen one side of Megumi, they're probably just going to transfer over her competitive/serious mode she had with table tennis into cooking.
Eizan was being a cheater but what if Rindou has some style that is dishonorable and that will trigger Megumi?
Megumi stands for hospitality, so perhaps Rindou will become the opposite?
She does believe thag a dish becomes tastier when you think of someone. Maybe Rindou will have some selfish style.
Instead of cooking for others, Rindou will end up cooking solely to please herself.
Imagine it like this.
You are the cook but you dont add in dishes that please your customers but only for yourself.
Would be rather dishonorable and something I can see that pisses off Megumi.
Especially should Rindou be talking shit about her mother.
Unlikely, she's been the most upstanding as far as giving a chance to others is concerned, she only ever eggs people who seem to be trying to act above their station. It's a totally different type of confidence/arrogance.
Don't defend your idiocy with attacks with no relevance or argument, that only works in elementary school or with retarded rednecks.
So each chef has a unique style/type of cuisine right? Or do they have both? Like Souma is French/Jap + peasant style, or Kurokiba is seafood + overpowering flavor or Megumi is seafood + hospitality..etc
The mom thing sounds really interesting, besides this the only important stuff is that obviously the endgame and main heroine will be Ikumi
>we've only seen one personality/side of megumi so far
If that's how tsukada actually put it then that's the shittiest excuse for the lack of character development I've ever heard. Nothing we've seen so far even remotely suggests that this is true.
I remember this one from back in June.
basically - "Until now Erina didn't make as many appearances, And fans have been anxiously waiting to see more of her, At any rate, I just needed to have Soma get closer to Erina in the coming months Thanks for your support. Thanks a lot!!"
There was also the one during the Hayama match where he apologized and said he understood that a lot of people weren't liking it but it was something he felt he had to do for the story.
>Nothing we've seen so far even remotely suggests that this is true.
She turns into a different person when she plays ping-pong.
Plus her upcoming match is very important so maybe we'll get to see her more confident/serious side crack through her gentle and shy demeanor.
Actually, people started to believe this more when we had those panels where Central people/Azami were talking about Central's plans and visions for the future and Megumi just looked deep in thoughts.
People believed she would join Central because someone like her would eventually get weeded out in Toots old regime.
I wonder how he's going to handle the teams. Since Megishima and Isshiki are competing at the same time is he going to show all three working together or dedicate chapters to each one?
Reminder that Alice is gonna get fucked by worst boys.
yeah, but as mentioned, while he did apologize for Hayama's match in the middle of it, he still said he was going to do it because he felt it was necessary.
He won't just kowtow to what people want.
He'll stomp the shit out of Eizan. These chapters will be another goldmine of reactionpics.
If he faces #1 or #2 he's doomed just like everybody else that isn't Erina or Souma.
But I also expect what >>154637216 posted. He might job later but he will surely shit on someone hard.
There's no limit to the amount of help you can give a teammate right? So technically its possible to have an ally do everything for you while you're the one who serves it, effectively switching the theme with another ally?
Who knows? But I doubt they'd do it like that for Souma at least since he takes on all challenges with confidence anyways. All those years of getting beaten by his dad kinda made him immune to even thinking of the consequences of losing.
Please shut the fuck up. We barely have waifuwars in this threads so eat dick. We don't need shitty cancer to stick to the threads now that we made it all this way without it.
Honestly I think this is as great as the triple threat match when /a/ was completely divided on who would win. This time it's not about which side will win, which is obviously Rebels in the end, but how it'll go down.
From what I can see it's probably like this.
>Souma: Has to be the clincher / Main Character
>Erina: Has to show off her power / Main Heroine
>Megishima: Has to show off his power for at least 1 round which is this one
>Isshiki: Highest possibility of jobbing after Kuga since he's also comic relief, but given his interactions with Rindou he will most likely lose to her instead of literal who #2
>Takumi: Has been losing every match that mattered, needs vindication at least once
>Giganigga: Better than Umis, but needs to show his reflection/change (highly likely to bite more than he can chew with Tsukasa's perfection)
>Kuga: Leave Tsukasa to me
It's still possible for Erina to lose later on, given how she's never actually been challenged by someone like Tsukasa or Rindou, but for Souma to lose would mean either Erina somehow steals the spotlight and saves the day with Souma being the former's inspiration in the final match (this can apply vice versa naturally), or Rindou uses the ribbon on her hair to save the day since her entire reason for joining Central was shaking things up and basically makes her Thorkell of Vinland Saga.
Erina could also take the last win, it'd be a stronger victory over Azami if even his own daughter rejected his ideals and beat his champion. It would also ensure that Soma isn't the top dog by the end of the first year and still leave room for him to get stronger.
>Erina could also take the last win
That's what I said. If Erina wins, it would mean Souma would fall near the end, but his actions would inspire Erina. It's been foreshadowed by Isshiki that Souma will be the catalyst that brings change to Tootsuki and make it grow. It would be like a Slam Dunk ending where the rival (Rukawa/Erina) would be superior to the MC (Hanamichi/Souma) and we end with one continuing to catch up to the other, only this time with more romance.
If you read the Q&A up top, the writer doesn't really have plans to go past the first year. They already used up everything but BLUE, so while it definitely can go international past the first year, it's basically 90% chance gonna be like ES21/Kuroko no Basketwhere the Christmas Bowl/Winter Cup was the 'final' and fighting the Americans (Or in the case of Shokugeki the French) and it will be lack luster in comparison and rather it's just fan service so we can see all the enemies band together with Souma and Erina.
>>No hope in hell: Kuga
yeah, he's going right after Tsukasa and losing right there. poor midget.
Erina actually has the strongest plot armor this match, since Souma and the rest symbolically put their lives in her hands via their IDs in a dramatic scene.
But it's not invincible plot armor. They can set it up where she's been given the burden but ends up failing to carry it the whole way only for someone else to pick it up.
Also speaking of symbolic, I just realized upon re-reading that when the E10 first made their debut after Stagiare, Rindou was at the front and in the middle as opposed to Tsukasa with 4 on the left 4 on the right just like Erina who sat in the middle. So it really might come down to Erina vs Rindou in the later rounds.
I don't know about you, but that would be the hypest match up for me since Tsukasa has already shown us what he's got.
Yes that's what I mean, usually the MC will get revenge matches which means Tsukasa vs Souma and Erina vs Rindou, with the two more known chefs in one bracket, and the more mysterious one in the other.
While this is true, we have no way to know how it works when a chef is eliminated. Can they still remain as a sous chef or will they be removed from the rest of the match period? Stuff like that is important since losing a member means losing support.
In this way, whoever wins early on with sheer numbers is simply gonna be set up to get steam rolled by the one hyped up monster on the other side, with Erina being the Rebel's big cannon while the 1-2 from Central.
I believe that when you are out, you are out for good.
Having said that, the most reasonable finale is the rebels winning 2v1 against the strongest of Central. The two kind of obviously being Erina and Souma.
She's also the first one to silently stare at Souma as he challenges the E10 to Shokugeki. Usually in shonen manga characters who just silently stare for a whole panel with ... to their speech bubble it has a certain foreshadowing.
Not sure if this was posted already but some new VAs were reveled for the next OVA.
>Shizuka Itou as Rindō Kobayashi, the council's second seat
>Rie Kugimiya as Momo Akangakubo, the council's fourth seat
>Kana Hanazawa as Nene Kinokuni, the council's sixth seat
>Yuuki Kaji as Terunori Kuga, the council's eighth seat
>Akira Ishida will play the council's first seat member Eishi Tsukasa
>Hisako Kanemoto is again replacing Risa Taneda as Erina Nakiri.
>the tragedy became one of the building blocks to his character/huge impact on his overall personality
Oh no ;_;
In their picture Souma seems young, but not like preschool young. So she probably lived long enough that he was in school before she died. We also know he got his scar somewhere between 1st and 4th grade from 2 flashbacks we've seen (did not have it in 1st, had it by 4th).
It's possible it's related, though that's purely speculation.
Probably a car accident. We're going to get some shit like
>I like your smiling face best, Souma
>Take good care of your father and the restaurant
You raise a good point. But that really suits Eishi vs Soma a lot more to make it climactic. If it's true of what they say then Eishi dissing Souma on who to cook for would set him off the wrong way and for the first time we really see him pissed off.
>Especially should Rindou be talking shit about her mother.
That seems like something Eishi would do. Rindou wouldn't stoop so low, but maybe get a snarky comment in to try and rile her up like Dog did with Alice that one time.
Probably the same sweet and gentle nature, but Souma's mom had short hair and small breasts going by that one picture; unless Tsukuda decided to change her design or something.
We already know that the 3rd seat has to go up against either the 2nd or the 1st, and Souma has to go up against the other (probably along with Erina).
So we pretty much know the match-ups already.
It's about time for a loss that'll chew Souma up.
Going home gives a good chance for exposition about his mother. I have no idea how he'd get back once they lose here though.
Joe rescue arc?
They aren't losing since that will mean all of them except Erina are expelled. Jou has to shut down Yukihira's and work for Azami. And Erina has to become his unquestioning slave.
They have very little time left in this year. The third years will be graduating very shortly.
BLUE would pretty much have to be during their second year.
Amusingly the age range they gave for BLUE lets them go against several alumni, even Shino, along with the 3rd years graduating now. Azami, Jun, Jou and Doujima are too old to compete in it though.
Can't wait to see how they will make Megumi. She will always be my favorite
I think the one time you see Rindou fucking pissed in the manga is when Eizan cheats. I imagine Rindou's cooking is evil in the sense that she's fiercely combative in how she makes her dishes - but I can't see her literally rigging or interfering with the opponent
It could easily be the case that Souma gets his shit pushed in and needs to depend on others, or something. Also, I dunno about the themes, but maybe Tsukasa will draw some retarded dish like Manchu Han Full Course that he literally cannot finish on his own.
>maybe Tsukasa will draw some retarded dish like Manchu Han Full Course that he literally cannot finish on his own
Watching him implode from his own autism would be great
This would be your final battle /a/, also Rindou and Soma as cousins imminent
yeah, though multiple traumatic backstories can be trying. It's why I'll bet that Erina's mom is not only dead, but died when Erina was too young to remember her. That'll still leave her with dead mom and shitty dad, but it's mitigated a bit that way.
I like the idea of her being competitive.
Her name does in fact have "dragon" in it.
I can see this smiling and chaos loving girl becoming fierce as fuck in a Shokugeki.
Also ironic that Eishi was portrayed as this knight of the round when Rindou is the dragon.
She might "spit fire" during the Shokugeki.
A-Anon he's just fucking with her because they hate eachother.
Nene is japanese cuisine while Megishima could very well be simply noodles.
I think we all might agree his specialty might be ramen?
Swear to god though, if he ends up being 3rd ranked by simply making basic cup ramen.
Admittedly, this did make me a little curious.
Well, Erina will fall for Souma. If somehow the one shot and ch 1 didn't make things obvious, Tsukuda did say so.
Meat, of course, did long ago.
While it's possible, we have no guarantee that Megumi will fall for Souma though. Tsukuda said what she feels for him right now is admiration.
Would that be an explanation on Eishi being first?
Rindou is becoming aggressive, intimidating and raging in battles.
But Eishi is first cause he is too autistic for that to work on him. He does have better skill but that shit won't fly with him.
To be honest, she does look better without them. I really don't like the shade of green for her hair though, so I'm glad this is in black and white.
Speaking of. Whose idea was it to give loli girl purple hair and green eyes? Do these people know nothing about colour theory? Literally edgy thirteen year old's first OC do not steal tier.
Yeah purple hair and green eyes is a terrible unheard of combination that has never been used in anime.
>yfw the two jobber get 10+ chapters a piece and this tournament goes on for over a year and a half
Nozomi purple isnt nearly as saturated. This applies to any other anime character whose colours look like they were picked right off of Barney's suit.
What if she is soma's sister?
What will be /a/'s face when it will be finally revealed?
What if her dark side is something unethical? She's known for hospitality so her opposite could be the blood arts or something equally dark, although I doubt a SJ manga would be that heavy.
There's a lot.
First, the third years will leave, the second years will become third years and Souma and Co. will be second years.
Since they decided that "the seats will be decided after", then we'll have a competition/fight for the seats.
Now add some second year shaneningans, also add some kouhais, then BLUE, etc etc. And you didn't even get to the romance/love/person to cook for part.
There's a lot of material to work with, it all depends on Tsukuda. He did said it really depends on the characters if he will go all out of end it early.
>A team based shokugeki is a complete hard counter to Tsukasa's autism.
Not really. As long as people follow his orders or know what the fuck they are doing, he's completely fine with help.
See: the reason of his match with Souma.
Reminder that Rindou is letting Tsukasa have the first seat and she's most likely better than him.
If the new E10 members somehow make it past the 1st round and got put into Tsukasa's team, I bet they'll get their heads too far up their ass and try to add their own flair to Tsukasa's dish.
Thank god this is not going to happen though.
I read it thoroughly until peoples reactions to tasting food got boring (the clothes just ripping off), i much preferred pic related. After that I became a speed reader so that i could finish t fast and go onto one piece
B E S T G I R L
There are parallels though
>Jou being second seat even though he was better than Gin and Rindou willingly taking second just because Tsukasa wanted to be first
>Both are aloof as fuck
>Both don't give a fuck
>Both hate the cold
I'm not saying it will happen, but there is "evidence" to make the assumption.
I know this is obvious at this point but I'm still gonna post it.
>Souma beats Nene because his instant yakisoba has a more traditional feeling/taste to it:
and maybe some cheese
I know one of the judges
Which of the elite ten do you think is a pussy in fight?
Huh, i've never thought about it as much before but they really do have a lot in common.
I wouldn't be mad if it turned out they were cousins but at the same time it would be fucking stupid that Saiba never bothered to bring it up to Souma in 16 years. I don't see it happening.
It's not that good desu. The art is mediocre since the series isn't drawn by Tosh and the writing feels foreign to the original series so you'll be reading a completely different manga. But I guess you'll like it if you're into Shinomiya.
I think that if they were related it's weird that neither she nor Jou seemed to recognize each other.
However, it is possible. In particular if they don't know each other. As for Jou never telling Souma, we have to remember that flashback with the old woman Souma treated like a grandmother and Jou thinking to himself that Souma doesn't know his actual grandma.
That always struck me as an interesting comment. Jou might be cut off from his family.
So Tsukasa is going to solo 3 people because of his autism right? And we're supposed to believe it makes him that much better because the audience will be yelling "He's doing the work of 3 people at once!!!" the whole time
I mean either Tsukasa goes undefeated in this thing, loses because he can't cooperate with the other E10 on his team (even Rindou), or he loses to Souma because of your typical shonen bullshit.
Hope it's the first one honestly.
Look at Nene!, anon what have you said that she's blushing??!!
WORSHIP YOUR GODDESS
The only time we've seen him cook was in the beginning against Souma and Smoke called him out for not taking it seriously. So back then it could be that he just wanted to test Souma.
Kind of related, it was established early on that Isshiki skips class to tend to the fields which I would think suggests he's better than 7th if it were not already rumored that Nene was way above the rest. So maybe Isshiki has been fucking around and Nene is one of the only ones that realizes it.
>That early Souma
How far we've come.
>Jou is better than Gin
>Rindou is probably better than Eishi
>Isshiki might be better than Nene and if AzamiHijackLOL hadn't happened after the 3rd years graduated normally he would be bumped up to 2nd seat with her as 1st.
Is Shinomiya the only First seat we have seen whose actually better than his Second? Or is >>154657680 also secretly super powerful?
She won't be able to resist him forever.
Well, to be fair, Jou was just a cooking autist, Rindou literally said she would let Tsukusa be first, but Isshiki has the keikaku eyes, so he probably has a plan to steal the top seat - and Nene is catching up to it.
Hey guys, I updated the OPT Chart
Who the fuck cares, we have an official one.
Megumi's dark side is that she's actually the ghost of rocky stuck inside a tiny jap school girl.
It explains why she's always in boxing form.
Thought he was a trap at first.
I remember that one cover where he and Soma where doing martial art poses.
Kuga was using one from a style which was specially made for women by utilizing the different body build between men and women.
>Is Shinomiya the only First seat we have seen whose actually better than his Second?
Shinomiya is the only first seat who's actually professional and not just an autist who happens to be good at cooking.
Remember author already stated that E10 isn't based on power but usefulness.
Jou was an edgy cunt who's useless outside of cooking. Jin is actually a good student and mature adult.
There is an estimation chart of Kuga's height somewhere in japanese net that estimates his height between 153 - 156 cm, so yeah, he is shorter than Mehgoo (158?)
I also remember that in the OVA preview, we could see him and erina side by side and he is significantly shorter than she is, so i guess the estimation isnt far from his true height.
Anyway, that is fucking short. Even for Asian girls this days.
>not even in color.
In what century are we. Step it up, fag.
>Isami has Bianca.
This with Isami, Meat and Bianca when.
>over 200 chapters in and erina still doesnt like souma
>people still think most of these pairings are going to happen on-screen
the only ones that'll be developed properly are souma/erina and maybe takumi/megumi. alice and dog are basically engaged so they don't count.
>implying Hisako and Pajeet doesn't have dates at the market while bickering over coffe or tea being better.
Kuga x Twins is my favorite. I hope they'd come back
I believe in my Megumi ship. If it is anything like Naruto there is still hope that Soma will be with her
Souma x Megumi
Souma x Rindou
Hayama x loli
Shinomiya x Mizuhara
Isami x Nikumi
Ryou x Alice
Takumi x Megumi
Souma x Erina
Shinomiya x Hinako
Souma x Nikumi
Eishi x Rindou
I really like Soumegu, but it's not gonna happen. It's pretty easy to tell which pairings will happen in a shounen. I can still enjoy their relationship despite them not getting together so it's no big deal for me.
I don't care for shippings.
I just like Megumi
>Souma beats Nene because his instant yakisoba has a more traditional feeling/taste to it:
I think it's going to be the opposite. The super traditional noodles from Nene is going to be enough for the judges to appreciate from a technical standpoint, but not truly enjoy as a dish.
It's cute and everything Anon, but you can't wrap yourself in a bubble of delusion.
Will she go full yandere and try to kill Megoo?
>Shinomiya x Hinako
Nigger you the fuck what
You can say whatever the shit comes out of your toilet mouth, but don't you there talk shit about those
Is this, dare I say, the Shokugeki no Soma for the thinking man?
>Jou offers him food he made
>This is what Azami wanted all along, just to eat another dish by his husbando
>Azami cries just like Erina did when she ate Soumas rgg dish
>Azami, Jou, and Gin start a 12 Michelin star restaurant
>Azami thinks they are selling food to the elite of the world
>Jou keeps him back in the kitchen at all times so he doesn't see the customers
>One day Jou steps out for just a second to got buy some mayonnaise and eggs at the supermarket
>Azami hears a commotion and decides to check on the customers
>Gin is naked and arm wrestling an American trucker while a bunch of drunk Japanese businessmen are betting on who will win
>Erina and Soma are on a date, slurping down Jou's homemade ramen while discussing their future together
>a crying toddler walks up to Azami and says "I made a poopy"
>Azami's face when
