Konosuba(the brand) prints money, but from a business perspective there's only a finite amount of money that audience can be leveraged for.

More and more seasons of anime could be produced, and would very likely generate a profit, but it would do nothing to grow the audience. There are tons of products which can also achieve this, although these would enjoy much better margins than the anime does.

If a possible S3 wouldn't add more revenue sources for the brand, they'd rather just sell LNs and merchandise forever so as not to cannibalize their own sales. Though I would say a S3 isn't out of the question, we're probably looking at a 20% chance.

No one knows. We're basing it off the fact that there was no announcement at the end like S1, the end slate was "Thanks For Your Playing", and Kazuma named drop the title of the show before cutting to credits.

It seems in all likelihood that there won't be a S3. Doesn't rule out the new approach we've been seeing where you wait 3 years and a S3 happens.

Isn't it pretty successful in Japan? Why wouldn't it get another season? If yuru yuri can get a million seasons why not this.

If DEEN didn't make KonoSuba, it wouldn't have been as great as it turned out.
People have to understand that while directors and top staffers can move, studios themselves have their own "personality" that they impart with the shows they make.

The thing that makes me disagree with this is that Natsume has consistently proven how much she enjoys fucking with people's preconceptions and subverting tropes.

I get a strong feeling that a lot of why Konosuba is the way it is is that she was a fan just like us before becoming a writer, was annoyed by the same stuff that annoys us, and wants to do it the right way.

How much am I missing out on by picking up this show after the fact and just watching it all at once? Were the threads fun?
