I like that the Links concept means characters will have the same advantage as far as the new mechanic goes, seeing as how both players explicitly have an EMZ zone.

One of the most annoying things about Arc-V's duels is that Yuya, and to a much smaller extent the Lancers, were the only ones with Pendulums. It made for an unfair advantage, and spewing the same monsters back onto the field repeatedly is also a really boring way to duel, yet their opponents didn't bother to side in Pendulum hate.

For Yusei, I'd say his friendship with Bruno after the Dark Signer arc was great.

Yuya was too focused on Yuzu, and I was pretty disappointed that he didn't form a new, deep bond with anyone he encountered during the course of the show.
He was already friends with Gongenzaka when the show started, he didn't really interact that much with Sora after Standard (there was that episode in Synchro but it was poorly presented) and he barely interacted with Reiji and Shun but he suddenly gained their respect.

Yeah, Yuya didn't really have a equal, friendly relationship with the main cast.
Gongenzaka is overprotective of Yuya and pretty much everyone regards him as a egao messiah by the end of the show, while people who didn't get egao'd dies or disappears like Sergey, Roget, Barett and Zarc.

I guess the only one that actually called Yuya's belief out is ironically Jack, but even then he "approves" Yuya's entame and only got screentime through favoritism.
