exactly. you can tell that they don't have the budget to do what they want and that in plenty of scenes they are limited in what they can animate well. But they made the show relatively consistent in quality and cute, and with enough detail to overlook both the the cg and the nature of it. It helps the voice work and pacing are great too.

There are much better (technically) animated shows that look worse or fall flat because there's no substance to support the visuals.

Also you really can't go wrong with cute animal girls being cute.

Well, we've been seeing 9 episodes of Serval getting excited and going sugoi for a lot of little things, we get drawn in by that amusement and that charm.
