It's a little rushed compared to the game, but they work wit hit the best they can.

While following the same basic plot the manga handles things differently after the first few chapters, so even if you played the whole game it should still be pretty fresh.

P5 is literally the best thing that could've happened to Persona series since 2.
Both thematically and with atmosphere it's a lot like If.../P1/P2 rather than P3/P4, it takes the best part of 3/4 which is the greatly improved gameplay mechanics and improves them even further
Soundtrack is again a lot more about atmosphere and ambience without losing the "catchy" aspects just like the P1/P2 soundtracks
Hand crafted dungeons again rather than procedurally generated cancer of P3/P4

Generally P5 is without a shadow of a doubt GOTY material for me.
