Anime is fucking great right now. There is a wide variety of shows and genres to choose from each season, in addition to incredible voice and animating talents highlighting some of the better shows. I second this. The first half serves as nothing more than what amounts to stupid visual novel tier crap. Slice of life all over the place with the occasional action. Although I the second half butchers everyone's character besides Subaru, its nice to see Subaru slowly lose his mind with each death, though it fucks the whole thing over with shitting up everything else. At the very least, second half didn't make me feel like bailing out on the whole thing compared to the first half.

It's not even a harem. Literally the only character that really likes Subaru at this point is Rem, with Lady Crusch barely coming to respect him by the end of the Whale Hunt. Felt doesn't give two shits about him, Ram and Beatrice think he's garbage, Emilia is getting more and more pissed off with his obsessive shit the further down the line he goes(due to having zero context for his actions, which is frustrating, but understandable), and none of the other Royal Election candidates really give two greasy shits about him.
