Not to mention that the final girl's arc will happen during Valentine's day. Reading the route split for that last arc is going to hurt a lot if they don't prepare a "Moe-nee to the rescue" path at the end of the timeline.

Hikari keeps messing up every route. Probably why she put up another fake persona after hearing the news from Shouichi when he told her she was interested in a girl. Maybe still even suspecting that she was going to be that girl who he was going to ask out since she said what does Cake fatigue supposed to mean. You can kind of see her behave the same way she does in her own arc when she was called a slut. Makes me think there still is something hidden in her as a final big surprise. Feeling a little conflicted after episode 4. Seems like this is just going to go through arcs of his life with different girlfriends before they break up and he keeps doing what he's doing before meeting Tsuneki again. Should I just keep watching without expecting any change to the overall resolution? I feel like this would have been way better if they hadn't had that cut forward 5 years, now it doesn't really feel like you need to watch the rest of the show if you're interested in the romance at all. Is it still worth watching for the character interaction?

I guess there isn't much left to say at this point, but I want to pinpoint this as the precise moment when I gave up on the show. Because it's not even relevant to the plot like playing games with Tooru, it's just a complete waste of time bullshit.
Fucking Seiren, man. I'm feeling it boys, I'm in IBO territory now. But with IBO I was feeling like my brain was melting, this is bad in a completely different way, it fills me with regret instead. It's like, you think with Amagami's omnibus format if they fucked up one arc they can just make the other ones good. So when episode 5 aired I thought that we can finally move past the first arc and put it behind us, but no, they kept shoving Tsuneki scenes into all episodes so we've actually never moved past all her bullshit, it stayed with us until the end, dragging the anime down (by taking away screentime from the actual romance stuff). That's why regret is appropriate feeling, because I expected it to become better and waited for each episode (because the things that I like about the show - I actually like them a lot) and it only became worse. I might as well finish it, but the show is so fucking done. Like, I'm sure Kyouko's ending is gonna be sweet like Tooru's, but it's not gonna feel very impactful due to the lack of development.
One of the things I like about Seiren compared to Amagami is that it has an overarching storyline, but if that's the end result then fuck it, I don't want it. Just reset and give the new heroine all the focus even if makes for a less interesting show.
And I only criticized how Tsuneki made the story worse by hogging screentime from other heroines. Her being an unpleasant cunt is a completely different problem on top of that. I really, really don't want to see her more than I have to, but they keep subjecting me to it. Those fuckers, they don't have enough faith in themselves to try selling it by making it good, they want to sell it by Ayaneru shilling. How do you fuck up Amagami this badly?

It's nice for the show to not ignore important events, like what the class should do for the festival. More Yukarin is nice, too bad we suffered quality because of it.

It's also a nice callback to Tsuneki's bullshit concerning the summer seminar in the previous episode. We're gonna see more of her trying (and failing) to maintain that image of the popular girl who knows everything about romance and fucking up Shou1 in the process.
Looking back on Tooru's arc, we mainly saw her real side (likes cooking, admires Moe-nee, plays with kids, gives actual advice, positively advances the plot via her phone conversation with Tooru).
Her own actual arc was pretty much her real self vs her popular image. I'm not gonna talk about the ending because Shou1 didn't raise enough flags.

I admit they fucked up by putting her arc first, they should've put Tooru's arc first instead. There's no way you could fuck up the easy-modo route. Should've put Tsuneki's arc last because by that point we'll see both sides of her already. Too bad she's the most interesting character out of the three this cour.

I agree on most parts wih you that is why i like to see Tsuneki so much in every arc. I also respect the other anons opinion about not liking the series because of her. Either you completely hate her or you like her. But putting the Tsuneki arc last wouldn't work in my opinion. It feels like the Tsuneki arc is more the Shouichi arc and the world building arc.

Amagami had a well defined motivation. Find Junichi a girl before christmas a real gamelike setting. The motivation for Shouichi is a bit more complicated but became more clear as i watched. Shouichi is a second year highschool boy stuck in life don't knows what he wants to be or do and plays games and watch anime all day. Him finding a passion in life and overcoming uncertainty is kind of the meat of the story and helping the girl in the process.

I think the reason why they decided to the Tsuneki arc first is to develop Shouichi as a character. Since it was the most uncertain time in his arc. We learned that he is a very caring boy who cant leave people alone when they have problems. But also when he puts his mind to it achieving goals with hard working. Also he is very deprived and has weird fetishes but is lacking as a male. These are his diving traits. So now to build on that we move on to the Tooru arc. We learn more about him being a big nerdy guy. Who also is very insecure and careful with his tought proces and how he approaches stuff. These are expects he want to improve on. Both these arcs focus more on shouichi as a person. The girls are more vessels for Shouichi to develop. Tooru more as Shouichi should take things more seriously and Tsuneki as you should find a passion and go for it.

In comes the kyouko arc and you can see him taking his problems more seriously. Hear bad news about kyouko act upon it. This arc seems to touch on his manhood. Because he came of as a beta. Now i am not saying he is becoming alpha but you can see him more acting upon his feelings then in the Tsuneki arc.
