eat the Japari Buns to grow up big and strong
Official twitter requesting fans not to be too boisterous and loud at the live events so as not to impinge others enjoyment of the performances.
I found the artist who draws Arai-san comics.
As much as I hate to admit it, the momentum of the fandom will most likely dissipate after the show ends unless the production committee play their cards right and introduce new media. Fan content can only keep you going for so long, just look at Tiger & Bunny. It's now forgotten except by die-hard fujoshi despite being the winner of its season because Sunrise fucked up and dropped the season 2 ball.
Again, these are the same people that did Tesabu mate. And if you don't get what that means, let me give you the short explanation. Second season was rushed in just because of the positive reaction the first one had, and after the third and last season, they've kept the franchise afloat with specials. And it kind of works.

Any friends who are good at collecting wallpapers?
I don't mind that, not every series needs to become the new KanColle. If they manage to keep this ridiculous fandom alive with a new game that's great, but if things die out it's fine too. I'll just be glad that I enjoyed this show and that I had tanoshii times with all the people who did the same back when it was airing.
There's no point in being pessimistic. Just enjoy Kemono Friends while it's happening.
It will be part of the collective consciousness of /a/ for a long time at the very least. I predict Kemono Friends threads will spontaneously spring up for the next few years or so.
I'm a sucker for obvious throwaway series every season due to the underdog factor and I've watched Valkyrie Drive, Izetta the Last Witch, Ange Vierge etc.
I'm just glad I came across the AOTS
>whenever she says "P-please don't eat me"~
If you're into robots and haven't seen BBK yet I'd definitely recommend it. Flop of the season, yet AOTY, well at least in my case. Was, and more or less still am obsessed with that series, though unlike KF that didn't catch fire.
These threads really remind me of back when Touhou was still on /a/. Minus the thread spamming and TOUHOU HIJACK LOL though.
It's an anthology manga by 20 different authors and looks like it's based off the anime universe because bag is in it. Maybe they're throwing tons of variations out there and will then serialise the one that gets the most positive reaction.
I think currently its have all the right factor go big like Touhou in 2004: Interesting world-bulding, simple yet amusing storytelling, decent character design ( focus in cute and not lewd, unlike boatslut), mostly, the freedom for fan to interpret any charater they like,. The last factor create a shit-ton of memes to the franchise, which help bringing new fan and keep the old fan stay.
There's NOTHING wrong with Japari buns. Here, take one.
But that's clearly a Happy Meal.
So it's pronounced え like how Tewi is pronounced with い huh. I learned something new today, すっおーい！
Don't forget to stop by the park on your way out.
This is ancient Earth’s most foolish program. Why does Lion, the largest friend, not simply eat the other friends?
>Create anthropomorphized animals
>No armpit hair
Truly evolution has won.
No need to ponder, just go and watch it
Nipponia Nippon is really popular (but extinct).
Updated checklist of Friends' who appeared in the anime, now differentiating quick one line cameos from background cameos.
It is not extinct.
How it feels to watch Kemono Friends
If Sandstar can turn even the dead animals into Friends, there's no reason to not feed hamburgers to the Owls.
I lost it at space cobra
Reminder to always bully your southern tamandua.
There's nothing to be melancholic about if you ask me. If she never followed Bag in the first place, she wouldn't be attached to her and would just go have fun with the paper airplanes.
Is there a way to unspoiler webms' thumbnails on futaba?
Otter actually has a very serious expression on most of the time if you look at her eyebrows.
You can't half-ass these levels of tanoshii, you gotta WANT it.
Homeless people are still human friends
A real friend will try to be friends with anything.
Humans probably went extinct in this show because they weren't friendly enough to each other in the first place.
this should be her resting animation
when hiro turns off that filter. T B H is cancer and should never be allowed back
>implying hiro is ever going to touch this site again
I see, i never knew that, thanks friend
Marasy is a great pianist. He's been around for ages doing piano versions of lots of things. He also works with an electronic artist called Kousuke Saito sometimes and makes piano laced electronica with him.
when I was a kid there was this PSA that played on TV that talked about how "everyone has something they're good at!" and it always made me feel like garbage because it showed a bunch of really talented kids doing things like skateboard tricks. Totally had the opposite of its intended effect by making me self-conscious about how talentless I was since all the other kids were secretly skateboard wizards and shit like that.
You were supposed to be all like "Oh, those kids are good at those things? Well, I'll be even better at something else!" and get your ass to git gud at whatever it was you decided to git gud at.
Instead you decided to just whine about it and do nothing and here you still here being a complete waste of time and space and utterly useless at everything with zero skills.
You have no one to blame but yourself.
The first time I saw atm the only thing that came to mind for its meaning was ass-to-mouth. It took me months to connect it to 'at the moment'. Looking back that caused some hilarious misunderstandings of posts.
Well, I don't have a lot of friends, but I never feel lonely because of you anons.
So in my opinion, you're friends who are good at being friends.
I remember that shit. It didn't make me feel bad though because I felt like I had a special skill in being good at video games. Then online multiplayer became more common and I realized I was nothing special. Then it became even more common and I realized that most people are talentless, socially retarded idiots and me being 'nothing special' was actually a pretty good place to be.
The best way to make yourself feel better about who you are is to take a look around and realize how fucking awful everyone else is.
But that doesn't fit the message. If you say "everyone has something they're good at" and I don't, it's telling me I'm not only incompetent, but an unusually spectacular incompetent.
For your intended outcome the message would have to be, "Everyone can be good at something (with practise)". That's not the same at all.
>"There's a Boss there too!"
>"Is it sleeping there?"
Didn't notice the flower until after I translated.
Is Kaban going to be sad when she learns that there are no more humans alive?
me too, these threads are the only thing keeping me going
I wasted much of my youth being so terrible at video games I couldn't beat easy mode on most things. I never thought I was remotely good and am too timid to play online and prove it.
Cute, kaban have the cutest voice
>Hey we have to trick this girl into thinking there are animals here, what should we do?
>We could all just dress up like animals and pretend we don't know we're wearing costumes
>Come on, nobody would be dumb enough to fall for that
She will do anything for her beloved Bag-chan. It's the power of love.
I could at least partially understand the ones before this.
Of all the interviews there have been, no one has brought this up.
Wait, the catgirls died? wtf I thought this was a light heart kid show.
Jesus fuck this isn't the place to argue about this but I'll just throw one out.
It's a fucking horrid dumpster fire of a 'game'. If a shitty walking simulator in the form of Machine for Pigs didn't exist SOMA would be on top of the chopping block when it comes to relatively recent garbage I had the misfortune of playing through. Literally only existed to engage you, engage you like a brick wall engages you if I might add, with its own generic quandary on the nature of human consciousness. As a short story? Sure. Hit me with it, the whole WAU and ARK story line was interesting enough for a good read. As a game? Especially the game they made? God fucking no.
Had to go play I Have No Mouth just to wash the horrid taste of that sorry excuse of a tedious repetitive hide and seek fest. And don't even get me started on Outcast.
What if the anime is entirely from the perspective of the animals in the park?
>A monkey stole a guest's bag and escaped into the savanna
>The "monsters" are zookeepers in blue uniforms that are trying to get the monkey back to its enclosure
>A malfunctioning maintenance robot thinks the monkey is a human
It's common practice, first they rope you in with something that looks cute and innocent and then they drop all the serious shit on you.
>Japari Park is purgatory
Seems to be in different order though.
>The Proud - Toki
>The Envious - Beaver and Prairie Dog
>The Wrathful - Lion and Moose
>The Slothful - Neet Fox
>The Covetous - OOH A JAPARI COIN!
>The Gluttonous - Owls
>The Lustful - MarGAY
They have really good chemistry.
Let's separate them, and see what happens.
Very much this. If anything changed it would feel off.
It's cute how they all want the official announcement to be a season 2 as well.
Not so surprising is that it seems most fans of the anime are in their 20s or early 30s. And mostly from 2ch, not Futaba.
Was this already posted?
Please let us have a second season, and a third season, and a fourth season...
This does seem to be the case.
I just caught up with episode 9 and was reading a Japanese blog for theories and clues I missed. The blogger had a pretty brilliant theory, though maybe other people have thought of the same thing. I dunno if it's been mentioned in these threads before.
Bag is not actually a human. She's a Friend of a human.
In episode 9 they reveal that Friends are made when Sandstar comes in contact with "an animal or something that used to be an animal". They mentioned Giant Penguin, who was presumably born from Sandstar coming in contact with a fossil.
We know Raccoon is looking for her hat, which she believes Bag stole. Bag seems to have just shown up wearing that hat. Note that the hat is also pretty beat-up looking, with a bunch of holes and all. They also mention at a couple points that Bag was "born during this year's eruption." If she was a real human, then that wouldn't make sense.
Her knowledge of human culture also seems inconsistent. She knows how to read, she knows about clothes, but there are a bunch of other obvious things she doesn't know about (I'm forgetting some of the details the blogger brought up).
She also appears to be a bit sturdier than a human should be, surviving in the snowy mountain biome for quite a while before remarking that "it's kind of cold", and also being flung a good distance by Hippo in episode 1.
Anyway, the main point of the theory: Bag was born when Sandstar came into contact with a bit of human hair that was still stuck to Raccoon's hat. That's why the hat looks so old, that's why Bag seems oblivious to the fact that she "stole" the hat from Raccoon, that's why Bag seems a bit sturdier than a human should be, that explains how a supposedly extinct human suddenly popped up in Japari Park with no memory of her life, but peculiar bits of specific knowledge about being human. It's because Friends are born with a sort of "genetic knowledge" of their lives as animals.
>So, you want a comfy, slice-of-life show... that's completely off the wall and set in the post apocalypse?
But all Friends seem to remember their previous lives as Animals. Wouldn't Kaban be able to remember her life as a Human if she's a Friend of a Human? This part makes the theory inconsistent, she should be able to remember as everyone else does.
>dunno if it's been mentioned in these threads before
Are you actually fucking kidding me? People have been calling Kaban being a Human Friend god knows how many episode ago.
In fact, that's one of the theories that /a/ nearly unanimously agreed with after the end of episode 9 in its livestream thread. It really isn't as brilliant as you think it is.
>Bag is not actually a human. She's a Friend of a human.
Welcome to the episode 2 theory thread, anon. Nice to have you finally catch up with the rest of us.
This may not be canonically accurate given what they revealed about the Sandstar and Ceruleans in the last episode but I like to think what they have is a genetic memory of their species' behavior, and not necessarily the memories of a specific individual.
Ibis has empty eyes and remembers her animal life.
The issue of the empty eyes also goes against the idea of Kaban being a Friend created from human remains. Every extinct animal Friend has empty eyes, but Kaban doesn't.
Some people seem to assume that they only have empty eyes if they know they're extinct, which is why Kaban's aren't empty, but in that case most of them wouldn't have empty eyes since they wouldn't remember their former lives anyway.
There's also cases like Australian Devil, which has empty eyes even though it's just a Tasmanian Devil fossil from mainland Australia, and the actual Tasmanian Devil Friend doesn't have empty eyes (and, yes, both of those have made cameos in the anime).
However, in spite of saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if Kaban really is created from human remains. There'd be no point in bringing that up in the first place if they aren't going in that direction. I just don't think it fits well with how the Friends are designed and presented.
Interesting that the most popular age groups are 20-34. Probably older than your average anime fan in the west I think. I assumed as much to be honest and I think that older appeal might explain to some extent these threads as compared to others on the board.
Well, the crested ibis isn't quite extinct yet, according to Wikipedia. But that's an interesting detail I never noticed.
I tend to just relax and enjoy the experience while I'm watching, and avoid spoilers and theories until I get caught up, so I often miss "obvious clues" until they're formally revealed. Definitely want to rewatch the series from the beginning, paying more attention to the details.
It's from greek philosophy.
The Pneuma (spirit) inhabits the Soma (body).
This is where we get words like "psychosomatic".
Tangentially, absolutely nothing in SOMA is in any way new. Its core twist has been done many times before, in movies like
The Prestigeand most recently in Christopher Brookmeyer's Bedlam
>Well, the crested ibis isn't quite extinct yet, according to Wikipedia. But that's an interesting detail I never noticed.
Crested Ibis is basically a situation similar to Australian/Tasmanian Devil. The original Japanese ones are extinct (and the site specifically calls her "Japanese" Crested Ibis) with the surviving ones originating from China.
There's enough of a distinct made in Japan they've preserved genetic material of the last Japanese ones hoping to inseminate the ones brought from China in order to bring back the native line one day.
Missing the first ones.
Actually now that you mention that, I remember hearing something about that gene preserving thing.
Well, while we're at it, anyone want to enlighten me on the other subtle details and clues that clearly went over my head?
Don't take it the wrong way, bro. It's just that they kinda explicitly mentioned in the first episode that Bag was born from the sandstar eruption so she's a friend, regardless of genetic origins.
>tfw picking Pepapu Live as a liked episode because don't want the penguin girls to feel like no one loves them
