I've continued to wait under this frozen sky
Glimmering tears, idly shooting by
But now is the time to ride the transit and fly
Fly away, on the transit to my future
Man. I think that was a perfect episode. The little things like Mahiru and Yozora only reading each other's articles in the magazines, Ako carefully mentioning that they'll be seen as a weak S4 if nobody beats the previous heads, showing a rival group to the ganguro girls who support Yozora. And yes, it's funny, she broke all the tiles the previous night in preparation and the other girls knew she would (I honestly think that's nice awareness on the part of the creators).
But the competition was every bit worth the buildup. These two, as sisters, have had the longest rivalry of all, with Mahiru's background being unable to beat Onee-chan in anything and her goal being to bring her down. She made a name for herself with her Stylish Girls Lesson as being unique, and is even the one called "Nee-san" now. Two things of note happened during her performance. Everyone must have noticed her new aura, but the camerawork also changed to put particular focus on her legs during a difficult part, as walking is the most important skill for a model.
Yozora sung Mirai Transit, a song about moving on towards the future and leaving behind a lesson. Mahiru's TSU-BO-MI is about breaking free from an oppressive snow and blooming for yourself. And Summer Tears Diary is about parting but staying strong and not crying. All of it was for this moment as Yozora leaves for Ital—France. Mahiru realizing it just as Yozora finishes is what made it really tragic. But do you remember? Yozora actually hinted at this in episode 31, and we weren't sure if she meant graduation or something else. I actually forgot up until the exact moment she said it. Things are really going to change now.
In the end, I'm just so happy that Mahiru was able to win. Inheriting Yozora's brand Romance Kiss was something only she could do, and I can't wait to see how she grows and what new dreams she'll find.
Also I read last thread. Screw you if you think S4 didn't all try their hardest.
It's likely Hime will go undefeated since Elsa is trying to recruit her in the preview. It looks like Elsa trying to get Hime into her school is actually just a way of getting back at Hime. I guess that's better than Yume being super-ultra special.
Accept now that they're not going to let her set the highest score at the beginning of a two-parter. It'll already be much if they let her keep a higher score than both Rola and Yume before Hime performs.
well I guess they had to do SOMETHING to make the episode not boring as fuck
Oh, I see what you're saying now. But there's nothing binding them to not shake up "traditional" progression. I think two weeks from now there will be two separate conflicts: Yume against Rola's score, and Hime against Lily's score.
Any Nipfriends want to shed a light on the new arcade game?
Does it look better than an upscaled DS already?
>and I'm gonna laugh
Anything that's not a repeat of Tiekatsu is probably a step up.
The fuck is with this episode?
Mahiru won but it doesn't feel like she won
If you can show her doing worse than any previous performance she's held, you'd have a point. The onus of proof is on you. Find an image where Yozora had a better aura than today.
I guess we're using this thread.
Hoshi no Tsubasa presentation
>emcee squealing over Koharu
I squeaked too.
>But there's nothing binding them to not shake up "traditional" progression.
Of course there is not, but it wouldn't make it any less shittier.
Sweves for the sake for a swerve are the worst kind of writing.
Hoshi no Tsubasa Part 1 MV medley
>OP Stardom! (Sena, Rie, Miki, Kana)
>Kouya no Kiseki (Nanase)
>Onegai Mary(?) (Miho)
>ED Bon Bon Voyage! (Risa, Miho)
Anon, that's not how you do it.
The S4 is so OP and what Yozora said was so well timed that it was quite hard to believe she actually went all out and losing wasn't part of her keikaku, but her performance was awesome indeed..
Where? Because Hexer is old as fuck.
Yeah seeing Koharu again is going to be sweet. We should celebrate.
That's the killer there.
Even if she actually went all out it doesn't feel like it because everything she did afterwards was based around Mahiru winning for maximum emotional impact.
You are really dense if you cannot understand the difference.
>Elza = Siera + Mizuki
>Kirara = Nina + Harukaruak + Kokoro
Venus arc will be DreCa done right.
Yes, it did, the whole emotional value of the scene would have been way different if Mahiru would have lost, the fact how you can't see this simple thing is astonishing.
>Some people just don't like Mahiru for some reason.
What has to do with anything? I like Mahiru but the whole thing still felt staged as fuck.
>no one has ever mentioned that
If you meant in this brand-new thread, then you're right. If you meant in terms of the general sentiment that has been in these threads, then you're not.
I was a different person than the one you first replied to and I only disagree with the people saying they think it was fake. It would have been sad either way, but if Mahiru had lost it would have been soul-crushingly depressing. When Ichigo lost, she was the one who left. Now imagine if Mizuki had been the one to leave the country, not even giving her a chance to beat her.
>but if Mahiru had lost it would have been soul-crushingly depressing. When Ichigo lost, she was the one who left. Now imagine if Mizuki had been the one to leave the country, not even giving her a chance to beat her.
So you are admitting than the whole emotional value and more of the scene would have changed completely had Yozora won? I'm glad you agree with that's anon assessment.
>It would have been sad either way, but if Mahiru had lost it would have been soul-crushingly depressing.
Indeed, it would have been horrible and the whole thing of being the new face of Romantic Kiss would feel like "Take this and stop crying loser" so it still felt like Yozora expected to lose or something like that.
>Why are people still thinking Lily won't be the new S4?
That's how lowly people think of Stars writing.
Still, the biggest crux of the argument is if Lily will beat Hime or will get a pity S4.
Also, Rola vs Yume argument too.
If people liked the writing of Stars we wouldn't have this argument because things would actually be as foreshadowing and build-up implied. Not about what would be the most unexpected to make nerds upset like so many people in these threads seemingly so much want it to be instead.
As expected of best girl.
>the ark has a physical arc
>50 episodes to know how the S4 male equivalent works
>Pretty much S2 at that point
Not surprising considering how they added them at the last minute just because they thought it would be cool. Wouldn't surprise me if they thought everything else needed as S1 went along and after they were sure M4 actually were a hit instead of a miss.
That's not exactly right. They wanted to include boys somehow and eventually reached the decision of making M4. Also you severely underestimate the anime making process if you think they didn't have clear rules for M4 succession from the start.
It's anime though. Things like this can happen, despite the fact that if they happened in real life it would seem far too perfect to be not planned.
I also think Yozora loves her sister far too much to gift her a win like that.
I'm a little girl with a feminine penis.
>I also think Yozora loves her sister far too much to gift her a win like that.
Funny because you can use that very same argument the other way.
You could, if this wasn't an idol anime where every competition means everything, especially this one, and S4 specifically spent many of their tea parties talking about beating everyone else during the Selection.
Gifting your siblings wins so they think they beat you is a lesser love. Going all out against them so that when they finally do beat you, they've actually surpassed you is real love. You might have to pull a few punches along the way, but when that final battle comes along it's a disservice to both of you if you hold back in any way.
I legit thought Yozora and Mahiru would tie.
Still, something I do like here, is that the S4 selection is not just the performance, but doing stuff related to their career choice too. It gives a much more wider view and feels more fair as well.
Since Yume's entire goal is to make it into S4, there's no way she will since having that happen in the first season would be pointless. Lilly will get second place because there's no way anyone is beating Hime.
What is this expression trying to convey?
What the fuck, this guy looks Don Bonby-tier of shady.
I believe in Yuri, even if the Theater and Beauty Class admins dropped the ball! (At least Miki and Saya slid in nicely behind Yuzu and Haruka, and they were the second most developed after Lily and Yuri).
I want to fuck Lala.
>Well met, JAPAHN.
>Fellow idols: I am Elsa Forte, the owner of the Venus Ark and the Top Idol of the world.
>Seems like a lot of idols have gathered here today, PERFECT!
>Nijino Yume, Four Star Academy, even all of you... just you wait!
>I, Elsa Forte, am going to steal everything!
kek, Elsa is going to be as hammy as Lily.
>job to Mahiru
>move to Europe so is easier drop by ex-waifu's house
>Koharu come back to Japan
Well that sucks for her.
Actually, job would fit in too. Yozora purposely underperformed so as to make Mahiru look better.
You know there's more than one person who thinks that, right? You really get butthurt when people disagree on you about Stars being nothing but a perfect masterpiece with no flaws. Chill a little lad.
We can throw opinions at each other all day, or we can throw some facts and evidence around too. It's pointless and boring to do only the former, especially when it's an easily verifiable claim, were it to be true.
So where are your "facts" and "evidence" that show Yozora went 10000% all out? That's just own interpretation of the facts as well.
That there's a few person who believe Yozora threw away the match on purpose is proof that even if it was not meant to come out that way it did to some and it's not just someone shitposting to rile you up.
All you are doing is forcing your own interpretation of the events unto others because they don't fit your own.
>it's an anon gets salty again because nobody cares about her opinion episode
Okay, how about the S4 tea parties where they explicitly say that they want to beat the new girls? I'm pretty sure just two short episodes ago was the most recent one. Yozora spoke out loud to other people that she wants to beat Mahiru (I don't have the episode on hand, and I know she didn't verbatim say that, but that was the point of the entire conversation). Now it's your turn.
All the S4 members talked about wanting to hold onto their spots until the end. She also outscored the other S4 members, which doesn't really indicate someone who held back. I'm not that guy, I can deal with people talking about Mahiru's lack of character, but the idea that Yozora threw the competition is just fucking dumb.
Actions speak louder than words. And that she threw the match was what her actions told me this episode.
It's not like if Yozora can really go around and parade I'll throw my match on purpose for my sister. It would kinda defeat the point of it, you know?
Her actions were clearly and obviously an idol desperately trying to be the best. I'm sorry if you can't see that and need to justify why you think Mahiru isn't better than Yozora.
>How about no?
Please do. It would be nice to not get your autistic ass replying to me again.
>You're simply wrong. Actually, did you even watch the episode?
Livewatched it like I do every week.
>I'm pretty sure you're just trolling at this point.
If that makes you sleep at night.
You know someone is trolling when their only argument is "she lost it because she threw it and not because she was beaten" in the face of a mountain of conflicting facts.
Fucking shit /ai/, can't we just have a reasonable argument for once? Earlier this thread was much better. I care more about being able to communicate like logical humans with you all than being right or wrong. When Yozora says "I'm in it to win" and you just say "no" back, it only makes you look like someone who can't learn.
Are you really just repeating what I said and turning it around? I don't see how "she lost it because she threw it and not because she was beaten" could be used in any argument that isn't about this episode of Aikatsu Stars in particular, so I'm not sure how you'd use it to determine whether someone is a troll in any other context.
Probably, the admins were described as being the closest to S4, and she came in third place for Dance class, above all of the second years and third years except Yozora.
I really hope that dress is one that gets added to the game.
I feel bad for all the Admins.
Despite being the supposedly closest to being the S4 as >>154385260 just mentioned, they all keep getting jobbed to a bunch of first years.
Lily is the only Admin that will become S4 be it through a legit win or a pity S4. As much as I like Yuri it pains me to say that she'll most certainly be topped by Yume and Rola on the Song Class competition.
Everyone was doing more of less the same thing until Lily showed up with her out of the norm dress and image song. Dreaming Bird is literally Lily while most other songs are whatever.
Rola should keep Spice Chord and go power metal.
So i'm guessing this means we'll be getting a new 3DS game announced soon?
The first aistars 3ds game came out around November so we will start rolling previews for a new one around May or June, unless they wanna go for a summer release which seems unlikely. t
They usually do 1 3DS game per Season anyways, im expecting something big because the first one was just a low quality port with most brandless coords but its unlikely.
Haha time for Samui
and a new OP
This is some Either/or level shit
I'm excited. I really liked the first half of the S4 selection (although Ako's episode was better than Mahiru's, but that just comes with the territory of being one of the best girls vs one of the worst) and provided song class doesn't shit the bed, I'll be really looking forward to S2, which is looking promising from the preview.
I believe Yume's smile could bring world peace.
I see why everyone loved Lily so much. After this second showing, her song really is the best. Judging by the preview for the next episode she's gonna shake things up a little, which is good.
OP2 > OP1, but ED1 > ED2 I think. Though I did like start line a lot.
Also now I get why people laughed at me when I thought the whole rainbow thing was gonna be relevant soon, they've completely ignored it again since the CD release.
You're right. I didn't notice since they spelled it as "Elsa" in-show.
>I'm cheering her on!
Yume, you already failed at the wingwoman thing.
Is this still the greatest mystery of Stars?
KOKORO FOR S4. NEXT YEAR.
This is interesting, but an important caveat is that the different days are incomparable. They're each a mix of a performance and a class-specific activity. In scientific research, you need a baseline to compare things like this accurately. I would not take this to mean that Mahiru is a better idol than Tsubasa or Yuzu, only that she is a better beauty class idol than Yozora.
They really are pushing this individuality thing. Not that I mind, it's good to have a running theme like this. It's almost strange that everyone else had figured it out except for Yume. I guess being kind of slow is part of her character.
Cant wait for the final showdown of the season
Why even bother when you know it'll be nothing but a Kasumi sisters circlejerk?
Heck, even the advertisement was more KASUMI SISTERS SHOWDOWN than Beauty Class New S4 Competition.
Will they been proven right?
I want to get fun with Laura
Anyone who is not rooting for Lily is even dumber than the little girls who are the actual audience of the show and they are showing their utter inability to understand and comprehend a literal show for kids.
Can't wait for Erza.
I hope she doesn't disappoint me.
If Lily doesn't win I'm going to be
Normally I'd have more to say here, but this episode was just wild. I can't really say much else. Halloween is fun.
I guess I'd best get this over with then.
>She was asleep too
And Laura was out training.
I can't fucking wait for atsui and samui interactions.
Did Hikari's singing voice quit or something? I love Hikari but felt she got cut off or something, I mean she even got songs out. I wish she got a PR in photokatsu too, this is not mabushii.
I don't know if I'm ready for PriPara to end. There are so many episodes I still want to see.
I want Mikan to make a new friend who's really similar to her and Aroma to become jealous but not flip the fuck out like she did in the first arc, more just become sad and pretend nothing's wrong then eventually she talks about it and Mikan says they'll be best friends forever, she likes her more than anyone else and they have a gay as fuck slow dance in the studio they were practicing in.
I want Reona to get chocolates from a male fan who things he's a girl and then he eventually tells him the truth, the fan's shocked but then decides he doesn't care and they become friends with the friend occasionally blushing around him.
I want Pepper and Chiri to be Romeo and Juliet in some kind of PriPara play event thing where Pepper's a terrible actor and Chiri can't handle her shit and keeps blasting her with water when they try the kiss scene and in the actual performance they fuck up and actually kiss, comedy gold and the episode has a duet with them, meanwhile Non gets pissed off about her lack of screentime and keeps popping up as different Triangle members, trying to take over the episode.
They're equally beautiful and sexy.
Although I prefer Juri.
Oldest but not best friend squad here.
So even with the Aura destroying, and what looked like Laura stumbling, Yume didn't actually appear to win by all the much. I'm still mad though.. I'll probably have to leave that for tomorrow, I don't think I could handle it right now.
And then on top of that Koharu leaving
Uh, no. It was a wonderful resolution combining aspects alluded to throughout the series since the first episode, necessitating several side characters and revealing what their hidden and misunderstood intentions were. Sorry it's not like Pripara where everyone can just come up with the winning Making Drama literally in the middle of performing.
It's like it had never happened at all. What was the point of the Rola angst if the power Yume used to beat her won't be used ever again? At least if it had happened in the 40's it would still be fresh for the S4 election.
yeah, that's how you wreck a fag
Crossover between Stars and OGkatsu.
Yume underwent a change in motivation and character due to it. And if you remember, Rola never cared about it. I'm pretty sure it was episode 12 where she said as much.
Thanks, I like big words.
After that the single other instance of character development for Yume was that episode she shared with M4. Nothing about the arc actually needed to be in the 30's instead of the 40's.
And you're right, Rola actually preferred Yume to use the Rainbow Power just because she is the Vegeta. But that's pointless since she won't use it ever again anyway.
Hikari was set up to be a rival of sorts so it was weird that she just disappeared. Looks like one of her actresses biggest roles as well.
Plenty of characterization, for anyone, happens in the moments they're not in the focus. Yume defying everyone's warnings to scale a mountain in the snow to go help Lily, everything she does for Ako when she's trying to get her Glitter. You can say that any character in the show is nice enough to help their friends, but these are moments that define the new proactive Yume. She's a lot more focused now, and much more confident than she was in the beginning without any of the naivety she had about her power at the start.
Rainbow arc has been the most painful thing ever in all of Aikatsu. Even infinite ties works was more tolerable than it.
I'm glad it disappeared and hope they don't ever bring it up again.
I hope you're not implying Yume (and Rola, for that matter) wouldn't have scaled the mountain to help Lily or helped Ako before the Rainbow Power arc. Did you forget when she literally carried Rola through the meme audition?
Yeah, the meme audition they were taking together against those meme girls in the meme school that actually showed up later in the meme episode we were talking about.
Except they were right there next to each other on the same team, no shit Yume helped her.
No, clearly it was proximity and desire to be helped. Lily's entire thing is about being independent, and again, she was who the hell knows where on top of a snowy mountain. Not within arm's reach.
If she had known? Maybe. But also remember that Rola didn't notice anything and just assumed Lily was concentrating hard. It's because of Yume's experience (and also talking to Lily a lot) that she realized Lily was in trouble and also went to great lengths to help her.
There is no "rainbow arc", it's 2/3 of the entire show.
I want to cook rice with Yui.
You have to be a real drone to not have been platinum mad at that episode.
>Even Precure is doing new things each year.
Putting a new coat of paint on a wall whose paintwork is peeling does not make it a new wall.
I used to hold Precure in high standard but then expanded by worldview and watched more children's anime and realized how bottom of the barrel Precure is in comparison.
I wish there were one or two other yearly magical girl franchises instead of just Precure.
In hindsight, I should've saved my breath rather than getting into heated discussions about episode 29 since I thought they were doing Rola a disservice, unaware that I'd end up barely caring about her later on. I hope they salvage her in S2.
I was not mad. I was both happy for Yume, but sad and frustrated and disappointed for Rola. It was a complex mix of emotions.
And then when Yume apologizes to Rola later she says it doesn't matter, which should've been obvious to anyone paying attention. You'd have to be a real drone to get mad.
And then it took Lily and another teacher to fix her, and then we never saw how she supposedly began "going my way" and next time we got insight from her it was still about Yume. I hope she gets better in the next episode, although I really don't want her to win.
It's just frustrating more than anything looking back on it. She was my favorite early on, and around 29 was really when my feelings towards Rola were beginning to tip. After 30 I thought maybe they would use this as a chance to take her character in an interesting direction, but no they've done jack shit with her for almost 20 episodes, and like I said it's nothing but frustrating.
>And then when Yume apologizes to Rola later she says it doesn't matter, which should've been obvious to anyone paying attention. You'd have to be a real drone to get mad.
This doesn't even make sense.
You really need to calm down about people disagreeing with you man. I swear all your posts in this thread are "No! You are watching Stars wrong! Here's how it actually happened and here's how you must feel!" and so on.
You are gonna get an aneurysm someday if you keep like this.
Oh yes, totally trolled me hard, ecks dee
I'm just saying that Rola's viewpoint is to use every ability you have to win. That's why she accepts Yume as she is but doesn't take back all their past competitions.
Rola's character would make more sense if the whole "do your own thing" morale was better represented in the show. I don't get how they got across how Rola did her own thing. Or any other character other than Lily, for that matter. I was expecting Rola to turn into an actual rock idol but she liking rock is still nothing but an informed trait. She still hasn't sung a single rock-like song.
Why didn't you say that in first place rather than what you wrote?
Still, that Rola's accepting it doesn't make her various loses any less painful for the invested viewer.
More like pulling her out of her ass while her bandmates somehow also have the perfect music for it right away for a performance.
The existence of Precures themselves was less bullshit than that.
I can't wait for Koharu to be revealed as a spy in Venus sent by Kasumi Mama who destroys it from the inside, and then returns to Four Star only to destroy Mahiru and take her place.
All according to keikaku.
No way Kii is okay okay okay.
There is nothing wrong with being a sexual predator. In fact, it's healthy.
Ako's brand when?
Hey anons! Anyone finished their colouring yet? Are square holders (minus 6) still alive? I printed my square and will do it this weekend.
I check every thread for your precious submissions!
Lily a cool.
>Yozora takes interest on you
>On the condition that she'll put you through a massively hard and tiring training regime to make you fit and cute and make you into her dress-up doll
Would you accept it?
>make you fit and cute and make you into her dress-up doll
I don't see a downside to this
>>I don't see a downside to this
You'll become a woman's fucktoy and her girlyboy slave completely dependent on her physically and emotionally and with your pride completely trashed and destroyed forever.
We already know both that Lily wins S4 and the Yume gets her own brand because Elsa goes lol why no and lets her make one because she's interested on Yume because of that very same MC privilege. You kill yourself for advocating shitty nonsensical writing.
