Villain protagonists are great. Because villains do bad shit, it's hard to portray them as sympathetic. But if the villain happens to be the MC, it's easier to put yourself in his shoes. The antagonists end up being easy to write as sympathetic as well, because they're theoretically the good guys. Like in episode 11, where the random journalist took a stand against Kira, putting his life on the line. If the MC is evil, every minor become more admirable.
