I just watched all of it recently, and it's just incredibly comfy, I think.
There's not really any fanservice or ecchi, despite literally every single joke being sexually vulgar. It just works, somehow.
And Prez is so fucking best.

SYD is arguably has the best comedic pacing in anime. It doesn't matter if the jokes are bad because they're never long enough to be an issue.

It's the exact opposite of Nichijou where one shitty sketch (and there was more than one of them) will ruin 1/4 of an episode.

Yeah but the problem with the show is that by episode 6 you can practically write the show yourself and the jokes start to lose value

I was going in thinking the show was a 8 or 9 but then in the end it was pretty much a 6 for me. Didn't bother with season 2

There's that dissonance between comfy daily life in high school and incredibly obscene jokes that makes it great.

It is all about the characters and their interactions. Sure they jokes aren't always funny (though they certainly can be) but the timing of everything is great and as the series has been produced more and more the VAs have gotten better and better.

They all have their characters personas down perfectly, it is all so natural sounding at this point.

Plus great girls, good music. Decent production values. Honestly one of my favorite series.
