Playing casual is fun since you don't always have the same card interactions like i.e. having a Solemn Strike thrown at you every time you summon a card. Most experienced/tryhard/meta players often have casual decks too, I have both Paleozoic Frogs for when I'm tryharding and SPYRALS for casual play. By the way, don't buy the D/D/D structure if you're plannning to play with the Link rules whenever they arrive.

Arc-V's flaws heavily outweighs its pros by the Synchro Dimension arc, mainly due to the staff throwing away most of the good aspects of the first year.

In Arc-V, every conflict stems from lack of egao. Original Dimension apocalypse? The audience didn't egao, so Zarc turned murderous. Leo losing his daughter? Zexal's plot isn't masterful by any stretch, but, at the very least, most of it comes from a somewhat reasonable sense of self-preservation, and the conflicts are resolved by directly addressing the problem, rather than covering it up with a disingenuous ideology.

I agree with you on Dr. Faker, but I personally find Don Thousand to be a good antagonist and "final boss" for the show.
He was shown to manipulate all the Barians from the start, and he planned pretty much one step ahead of Yuma/Astral and Vector, which displayed his smug personality well. The problem a lot of people have with Don is his absurd cards, I like his cards but I can see the flaws that many point out.

Even without including these two antagonists though, the majority of Zexal's antagonists were well-fleshed out.

The first part of "Card games on motorcycles" is actually universally considered one of the highest points of the franchise, including DM.

That joke only came about because LK and I thought the original premise was silly. We started poking fun at it and some people took the joke seriously, using that to discard the entire notion behind the show, never giving it a chance like we did. Then it turned out to be fucking awesome.

GX and ZeXal have their high points, A lot of them being well after the 1/3rd or halfway mark. Arc-V unfortunately blows its load in the first third, struggles to reclaim its original hype in the second third, and is an utter disappointment in its last third.
