I think the pace was fucking great, especially in the first few episodes. It got its own rhythm.

I didn't like the first episode much but less because of the pace and more because it was the cast at it's most zany (can't think of a better word to describe them). They still are zany further into the series but either because it's toned down a bit or the plot makes it feel as such that it isn't annoying by that point.

Also these two should've been the protagonists.

Shun is best boy. I've been thinking lately that maybe it isn't a good idea to have a dedicated detective character within the main cast who solves most of the shit and then not have them be the MC. When did people's problem with this series become not being able to follow what was happening? I thought the issue was that while everything was pretty bluntly laid out for you it was rushed + most of it wasn't expanded on or resolved satisfyingly enough (or at all in some cases, like pic related) by the end (due to it being a glorified advert for the unreleased VN, I know)
