Medaka leaves me conflicted. On the one hand, when it's good, it's really fucking good, but some of the arcs just ...drag ...on ...so ...much.

The thing that left me most conflicted was the relationship between Medaka and Zenkichi.
At first she only seems to give a fuck about him when he dies. Then the mentioned arc happens and she just straight up drops him, despite the fact that she's seemingly loved him since her childhood. Then she falls for him (again?) when he defeats her, then it's back to usual. But she still offers the king guy to marry her and even offers Kumagawa her love, despite knowing about how Zenkichi feels.

Well, she puts others before herself, so her offering her love is kind of a natural conclusion. She's kind of a broken person inside, even if it's pretty different from the usual depictions.
What left me most conflicted is the fact that once Kumagawa and Ajimu enter the story, all the shitload of otherwise interesting characters end up on the eternal backburner.

I don't think the benched characters would fit on the power scale though, considering they had powerhouses like Kumagawa can rewrite reality with『All Fiction』, Ajimu with her trillions of skills, etc. Just having sonic powers and enhanced strength doesn't really measure up. It's amazing that Zenkichi was even brought along, considering that he's the weakest.

I can't remember the last time a manga made me feel like this. It was a fucking boat that I never really thought too much about once they actually got it. But between Skypea and Water 7/CP9 Oda really made this boat shine. I cried bitch tears when Merry had to burn and I can feel some tears welling up in my eyes now.

OP has changed now. I don't feel like Oda is planning his arcs out like he did pre Time Skip. The buildup is gone, the feels are gone, the excitement and mystery is gone. It's funny because up until last year I never really talked about One Piece with anyone but between talking with one of my co-workers and lurking the OP threads I've just come to realize that I don't really care for the current direction. It's not bad, but it feels hollow when compared to the previous stuff Oda accomplished with the story.

I wish I had a page to contribute to the thread but I don't really cry over Manga and the few examples I can think of were already posted. This is probably the closest though from recent memory.

I mostly rely on the command line as well, so I prefer Fluxbox for minimal intrusiveness and memory use (fuck you KDE for being a buggy piece of shit using like 30% of the memory on duplicated nonsense processes, don't know why I recommended you). I recently read a little about an even smaller environment called Awesome, but I haven't tried it yet.
