How did you make it through DR1's cases if DR2's first case felt shitty to you? They were barely mysteries at all and it was all padded out with characters crying about friendship or whatever in almost every case in DR1 until Kyoko gave Makoto permission to end the case.

Hell DR2's first case is probably the series' best attempt at having tons of characters have a notable role/presence at some point during the trial so far.

The final two cases of DR1 are amongst the worst in that game. Junko started ignoring her own game rules, the explanation for how everything ties together is literally just "lol despair, I don't have to explain shit xD" and it just devolves into a Hope vs Despair speech face-off by the end. Main issue is that the overarching story ended up being too shit for this to actually be any good.
