Yeah good enough, and then you notice each 3d printed part is hundreds of times geometrically simpler than a figure and hundreds of times more expensive as well. 3D printings is nowhere near the quality you reach with mass production methods and the quality/ration will never be anywhere close as it is.

And now that you account both for, have you seen that the material prices are gram per gram more expensive than PVC and they are only getting even more expensive?

We have an older Roland 3d scanner at work that the owner didnt even know we had. presumably a manager before me ordered it to play with and kept it on the downlow. if i get it up and going, would people be interested in having scans of figures, or would it be more trouble than its worth since they really cant do much with the 3d models?

Alright fuckers, here's the good news:
Due to the increasing popularity of 3D sculpting and the increasing ease for independent artist to manufacture their own figures (yes, 3D printing helps to a degree here), we are and will continue to see a rise in homebrewed figures of niche characters by independent artists.

The bad news:
These fuckers won't come cheap and will be of limited quality. You'll never have a box in your house you feed raw plastic into before it spits out a perfect figure, and you'll always depend on talented artists to actually sculpt the damn things, digital or not they'll never just materialize for free and an artist will always do better than some shitty 3D scan. Also just because someone made a 3D sculpt, it doesn't mean you'll be able to download it and have it be made, if the artist never bothers to go through the process to manufacture them then you're shit out of luck, and most all 3D artists are in no rush to make their sculpts physical. It takes a crazy fucker to make their own little store of 200+ resin kits of their sculpts only a few people will bother buying.

You're missing the fucking point, any figure a printer shits out will never compare to a carefully manufactured, assembled and painted figure. These figures are good because some japs spend months ensuring the final product is worth the money they charge for it, even with all the corporate profits and money saving surrounding it

Goddamn prize figs have more work put into them than what most of you retards expect to put in out of a perfect 3D printing fantasy, how is some shitty art reproduction that's even worse than mass produced shit supposed to evoke more emotion and feeling?

In what world will you be able to download a model for free, only pay for the materials, then press a button to have a cheap machine spit out a figure, and have it somehow be comparable to a real manufacturing process? You need a lot more real work and money to make figures of quality, which we're already doing as it stands.

For 3d printing to match current manufacturing you need to do a shitton of roundabout work which will only result in a massively more expensive and labor intensive process, which is not only worse than just regular manufacturing, it completely ruins any of the "poorfag printing his own figs" benefits. As it stands mass produced figures ARE the poorfag option.

It just costs the actual item cost, so in this case 3k yen or whatever, then you have to pay shipping from the nip site to the zenmarket warehouse, which costs like 300 yen, then you pay a 300 yen handling fee then shipping to your country.
