Because he is a very unorthodox villain, especially for a shonen series. There is nothing edgy or tryhard about him, he is gentle and respectful without being humble.
He has a pretty complex personality for a minor henchman. He doesn't have a bullshit or tragic backstory. His main motivation was his interest to see the new world made by Yhwach, which is pretty understandable and realistic goal.
He never lost his composure, even on the verge of death he was himself and didn't lose his cool. He was also very effective antagonist, bringing down a lot of improtant characters - Yoruichi, Urahara, Grimmjaw, he even defeated Ichigo once.
His ability was also pretty complex and interesting without being outright broken or hax.

Unless Mayuri asspulls Yhwach's absorption powers, nothing is going to defeat Gerard.

Fullbringer arc proved that it would take a lot more for Ichigo to betray Soul Society than words, and the fact they each gave him part of their own power means they earned his trust. Ichigo joining the Quincy for any reason would have been entirely out of character; Uryu's motivation was understandeable but Ichigo isn't smart enough to feign loyalty.

There is a thing called playing possum, which is how Giselle escaped from Mayuri. Giselle's tongue was out, which would mean Giselle was absorbing blood. After Orihime and Ichigo arrived Giselle and Liltotto were no where to be seen. Giselle was stabbed in the, heart and survived. A head wound is rather minor compared to that.

But Kubo already knew what he was doing with 1000 Year Blood War. It would have been Shonen Jump that would be adding more characters given how they had a particular focus on mandating Arrancars in the 2 arcs after Soul Society. Both Arrancar: Hueco Mund (21-32) and Fake Karakura Town (33-48) had the mandated Arrancars in there.

While Kubo was able to control 21-32 to not detriment his writing, Fake Karakura Town is where the editors started going out of control.

1000 Year Blood was was when Kubo designed the Sternritter to be more like the Soul Society in structure of focus.

Seemed like the only character in the Bleachverse who was familiar with the very nature of the Bleachverse. He taunted and respected everyone because he was amused and enthralled by the fellow freaks he met on the battlefield. His aim was to see things change up even more and participate in that new world. I don't know if BBS makes enough money to justify the amount of work and investment needed to do Quincy arc. They'd need to:
- open a new negotiation with Shueisha (their present license is from Pierrot who only have IP up to what's covered by the anime)
- cast new VAs (though seeing as it's only a few lines, they don't need huge names)
- create new stills (as they can't just take from existing anime)
- design movesets (but they're already doing it for some characters anyway)

I'd say BBS is more likely to cover movies and Bount arc rather than take that risk.

The CEO is definitely interested and voiced his opinion about that several times. Only Pierrot and Shueisha have give the okay, if they already didn't. Like I still find that deleted tweet a bit suspicious.
