This could be it, but she did make a fuss about needing a lot of blood from Ochako during the training arc. And remember, Toga didn't transform into Ochako for that long at all during the provisional exam - so I'm not sure if the quantity of blood is a time thing.

It's been said by other people, I'm sure, but what bugged me about this chapter is Hori just made a beeline right to the next plot point.

It's like the bath scene with Kouta. Mineta went resourceful-but-ultimately-harmless pervert to creepy pervert for some reason (which is probably why he fell in the rankings), which was just done so Kouta could fall, Deku could catch him, and Deku could get Kouta's backstory without anyone else interfering. Hori needed a way for Deku to be the only one to know Kouta's backstory so he could assume Kouta was quirkless, which establishes that people can be wrong without needing an idiot ball, TWEESTS, or plot progression in this universe.

But while what it established was good, the scene to get there just felt hamhanded and lame. Which sucks, because I'm sure Hori could've thought of a better way.

Likewise here, it felt dumb that this little girl and Overhaul were here RIGHT here RIGHT now.

Hopefully it's just part of Overhaul's keikaku, tho.

Deku's All Might obsession runs a lot deeper than most people's.

The fighting is the aspect that's kicked him now, but he's getting his own style, so he's grown like that.

Personality-wise, he becomes so hellbent on saving people that he destroys himself in the process. His personality isn't like All Might's, but he's mindlessly trying to embody those "qualities of a hero" without making them his own.

There's also the fact that he nebulously wants to be the "#1 hero" without having really any reason for doing so. He just wants to be it because All Might is.

Kacchan wants to be the #1 hero because he thinks he's the best and he wants all the fame and glory. It's simple, but it's HIS reason and he's running with it.

To hop mangas, Naruto wanted to be the Hokage because he wanted everyone to acknowledge him. However, he didn't need to actually be the hokage to do that since everyone acknowledged him by the end anyway (I've seen an alternate ending someone wrote where he became a ramen chef; way better imo). If we don't want Deku to go the same way, he needs to find a reason for him to want to be the best hero in particular.

Is he going to become the Symbol of Peace 2.0? Probably not, because Deku is Deku and All Might is All Might. But he clearly wants to help and save people, and we already know he's going to be the greatest hero by the end of the manga. The question is how he's going to find he own hero way and become the greatest in his own right, rather than walking in All Might's shadow.

OfA is transferred by ingesting DNA. And it's a full transfer. There's no indication that you split it up.

The only way I could ever see that happening would be if Twice duplicated Deku, but the second Deku's OfA somehow stayed after being transferred, which is a whole nother sack of potatoes and I don't think Hori would even think of going that way.

Someone like Mirio is charismatic and has an uplifting persona and is a "dazzling light" similar to All Might. Ochako's main problem as a character is simply her lack of screentime (she gets benched during most major arcs) and the main problem with her ship with Deku is that they never had meaningful enough interactions to justify the crush and now that Ochako has a crush she can't actual conversations with Deku without avoiding him or spilling her spaghetti so we aren't getting any development there anyway.

Even if she wasn't doing much, it would feel much better if at least she was tagging along in events like Bakugou's rescue. At least she wouldn't completely fade into the background for months.

I don't see lack of screentime as her problem. If we use Naruto as an example here, Hinata had very little screen time but was still a great love interest and developed character. She had her own goals and her own story with her family going on in the background.
Ochako's problem is just that she's bland and her entire character revolves around Deku.

Considering Shiragaki and all the villains know about Deku having OfA the secret is a bit pointless right now. Pretty much the only motivation to keep it a secret now that All Might is over is to make Deku get a name for himself and not just inherit All-Might's fame.

I can't say what's gonna happen with Ochako - but the thing that frustrates fans about her - her fixation on Deku and only Deku - is explicitly an issue brought up in the manga - and now something Hori slaps on the cover. It's one of the "hidden" plots of the manga. I say "hidden" since you'd have to be blind not to see it at this point.

13 is a foil to Ochako, if her and Aoyama fighting him during the test didn't make it obvious.

Aoyama is easy enough - Black Hole sucks up light.

With Ochako - first off Uraraka means "bright light", but more to the point, a black hole is a super dense pit of gravity - and Ochako's talent is negating gravity.

But beyond the quirks being opposites(13's black holes suck at range, Ochako needs to make contact), Ochako's choice to go for Gunhead despite telling Deku she wanted to be like 13 shows that Ochako has no intention of being a pacifist.

The only tangible results from the training arc that Deku notices about Ochako is that she extended her levitation time a bit. It's how he susses out fake Ochako from real Ochako - he knows Ochako would levitate and not fall. But I've combed through the Provisional Exam - even Mineta came up with an Ultimate Move - his "grape whip". Ochako didn't showcase any new moves OR a new costume.

Instead her focus during the provisional arc is purely interaction with Kemi and weird internal monologing about Deku with an explicit callback to the Toga scene. There is something not right going on here.
