Ant's strength and danger was shown pretty well when Pitou killed Kite and when Meruem was born. I also feel wish granting is better than revival, since it has more possibilities for misuse and repercussion, such as when Yasuha wished to be a billionaire and 68 butlers died from it.

Gon dying would be arguably more impactful, but one could argue that Ging attending the funeral wouldn't change anything, which wouldn't be the case if Gon was still alive. Also coming back in his Gon-san form wouldn't make sense, since Gon reverted back when he went comatose. Also, Gon did have nen problems after Nanika healed him.

That was the only blemish of the fight for me. It was promised to be a deathmatch, and while Hisoka did technically "die", Togashi copped out by making sure both of them stayed alive in the end.

There was an idea thrown around that Togashi really was willing to kill Hisoka off, but Ishida begged him not to do it during their meeting together.

This show's exceeded all my expectations ten-folds, and I have no idea why it's so seemingly "unknown" compared to the big 3 titles for example.

You can find 9999 other super strong guys to take place of Phinks or Feitan, but where do you plan to find someone with an ability that allows him to control even the strongest nen user in the world and someone that can make a perfect physical copy of any object he touches, allowing you to steal whatever you want without anyone knowing just by replacing the original with the perfect copy?

Ryodan didn't lost a lot in terms of fight capacity, but in terms of black ops they are crippled for a while.

Agreed, this was by far the best episode of the arc, it had so many meanings it's ridiculous. I really loved the end with Meruem's final words to Welfin and Pouf bursting to tears with these dramatic theatrical lighting as if it was the end of Pouf's play, and the final shot seeing light going out from Meruem and engulfing Welfin and Pouf, he finally became "the light that illuminates all". He never was born to be a King.

I don't what happened, but Viz didn't advertise it for whatever reason. Though that wouldn't have helped, around the dub's release Togashi was still in CA limbo. Best case scenario, we could have had the 1999 cast for the dub. I don't like Erica as Gon. Eleanor Holt sounded like an actual kid coming of age. I don't think he's going to be killed off, but I don't think the Troupe will survive as a group. We'll probably see Chrollo display a wider range of emotions. Chrollo's biting off more than he can chew as there are too many powerful enemy nen users in the Black Whale including two who are around Netero-tier (Beyond and that old Zodiac member.)

Chrollo's downfall will be Kurapika's rise. Chrollo's probably unhinged after finding out about Hisoka killing two Ryodan members. If there's anything that the York Shin reveals about Chrollo's character is that he doesn't take the deaths of his members lightly. He's also close friends with Kortupi. He left Shalnark and Kortupi without nen abilities near Hisoka's body. Chrollo fucked up by underestimating Hisoka's randomness factor, and he's going to keep fucking up throughout the Black Whale Arc. I could see them questioning their loyalty to him throughout the arc.

Meanwhile Kurapika has built up many powerful connections faster than Chrollo did. He's got powerful nen users like Hanzo and Biscuit. He's got the Zodiacs. It would be in Hisoka's best interest to keep Kurapika alive. Everyone who wants the expedition to be a success would want to get rid of the Troupe and that includes the Beyond. The baby's nen beast looks to be the strongest of the all. Then there's the possibility of the Troupe being unable to return home if the Black Whale lands in the Dark Continent, which means they'll have to avoid Ging as well.

It's a role reversal from York Shin. Togashi did say that a confrontation between Kurapika and the Troupe would mean that everyone involved might die, but I think the Troupe is going to be killed off before Kurapika finds out they were on the Black Whale. Kurapika's side is too powerful.

Just imagine Chrollo meeting Kurapika only for Chrollo to be powerless as the rest of the Troupe is gone while Kurapika has his crew of uber nen users backing him.

Pitou could have been exchanged for anything and it would still fit her role well. Pouf and Youpi are actually the ones that have a presence so strong, so much mannerisms that they were unique.
Same thing I said from Pitou you could say from Youpi until the first time he used his rage attack though, but the best thing about his character is that he evolved mentally too quickly. Just a few chapters were needed for him to become something else, a villain that even the main characters were fond of.
You couldn't say the same about Pouf though as since he started noticing Komugi were a bad influence over the king he was already not generic.

Pitou's only worth is being such a fuck bait. I wish I could make her into a "king" and mate with me multiple times until we have a shit ton of baby ants.
