I like KonoSuba and the dynamics between the characters. But the comedy isn't that great. It's good but not super great. I think it's mostly because a lot of the jokes are basically rehashes in some form or completely predictable (which I don't find a problem but it does hold it back from being super great).

Like today's episode, the joke of interpreting Darkness' masochism as heroism. I think that has been done before but it was predictable and more than that it was drawn out. One person making the same joke, sure that's good. But we got four different statements essentially repeating the same joke. It's not bad but again not super great.

Personally I like Prison School's humor more (and Grand Blue's). That's some top-tier comedy. What these three have in common is that they feature a trash main cast who backstab their friends. It's the best kind of starting point for an anime comedy.

At one point in the novels, Aqua challenges Kazuma to a fight, and is very casual about it.
She explains to him, that the tricks he used to beat Darkness with, would have no effect on her. And if she were to buff herself with her already broken stats, she would crush him in the blink of an eye. Kazuma is genuinely rustled by this and the demeanor she says it with, so he changes the rules.
Aqua would be the more dangerous one to fistfight.

I am going to spoil heavily so be warned.

In volume 5 (Season 3 if Deen does it), Megumin reveals that she saved up her skill points because she feels guilty about being useless and letting Kazuma die multiple times. She gives him her adventure card and tell him to allocate points for her. Since he knows Megumin will only love casting explosions, he goes against his own judgment and puts all of her points in explosions. After that, Megumin casually tells Kazuma that she "likes" him. Kazuma, being blue balled, doesn't know whether Megumin is just playing around or is serious. She becomes more open about her love towards Kazuma and jealousy. She fully comes out in Volume 9 and almost have sex until Aqua messes up everything. In Volume 10, when Kazuma asked Megumin whether she is jealous of Iris, she plainly told Kazuma that she is and she told him that he should treasure her more. Weak to direct attack, Kazuma doesn't know how to react and moves on. Out of all of heroines, Megumin has most crush on Kazuma to the point that he is as much as important as explosions to her (Explosion Vol 4). Megumin is on full assult while Kazuma is delaying. Megumin (and Darkness) both points out that, while he sexually assaults girls a lot, he will never cross the line when both consents.

They killed Megumin's idol and aspiration, basically the one who got her hooked on explosions, because she was a General. Megumin got super upset and depressed and Kazuma comforted her. During the whole thing she ended up confessing and Kazuma realised that he did have legit feelings for her and reciprocated. After Wolbach is killed, Megumin visits Kazuma's room. Kazuma, unlike him we know in anime, stumbles a lot. Megumin goes on full assult and says "I love you" on his bed. She loves oxymornic part of Kazuma. He is lazy, but will work hardest when he is poor. He is selfish, but will sacrifice anything for his comrades. He is weak, but can beat the most powerful bosses using his tactics. Then she hugs him on the bed while lying down. Kazuma apologizes to all harem MCs because he doesn't what to do. She almost pushes him to the end until Megumin cries. She is unstable right now because she had to kill Wolbach, which was her idol and one who put her into path of explosions. Kazuma spills his spagetti trying to cheer her up by telling how he is much more pathetic than her and how he disappointed his parents with his NEET ways. Megumin laughs and she leaves his room. Kazuma thinks he screwed it up, but, in next chapter, it reveals that Megumin thinks she is the one who screwed it up. She later thinks that he would be popular if he tamed his selfish and lazy parts of him, but she is glad he is that way. It wouldn't matter as long as she is only one who would love him. That's when Megumin became best girl on my mind.
