I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Friends, is in fact, Kemono/Friends, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, Kemono as Friends. Friends is not a life unto itself, but rather another living component of a fully functioning Kemono Domain made humanoid by the Sandstar deposits, animal traits and vital bodily functions comprising a full living being as defined by JAPARI.

However, they are not friends on their own volition; they can only be considered as such after their transformation through Sandstar exposure: the whole Kemono Friends is basically animal with Sandstar transformation, or Kemono/Friends. All the so called "friends" are really just independent species to Kemono/Friends.

I'm not watching Maidragon, and I went to some of the LWA threads after the first episode but they were not very tanoshii. It's pretty rare to have threads like these for currently airing shows, similarly comfy threads are normally for unpopular shows.

Not that guy, but this show is why I more or less came back to the board, and site in general. Usually, I'd just come in once a day to repost a request in the drawfag thread and that would be it, other than that, the last threads I was active in where the BBK ones. Had no idea of the incoming hype or anything, only that the guys that did Tesabu/gdgd were behind it so was prepared for the one thread a week it would obviously get. And yes, am still somewhat shocked it went this viral.

As far as the elevens go, I am still surprised it hit so well with them, but considering it has animal girls, I guess not so much. As for over here, again, I was only expecting this to have the generic one thread a week Tesabu had. Not surprised in the least the western audience couldn't get into it though, since this is more of a market focused on "battle shounen" or "elitist sakuga". Maybe a bit of comedy as well, but Japanese humor's more hit and miss with them. Overall, I would've been a hell of a lot more surprised if it clicked as well as it did in moonland with most of the western market.

Nexon isn't part of Kemono Friends' production committee. There might be some kind of exclusivity contract though, but their lack of interest in a new game or bringing the original back could be used as a reason to break it even if something like that exists.
