That's totally fair, I only mean in a visual appeal to me, at least. Both of their art is usually just an instant "I want to kill this" reaction from me. Instead of maybe wanting to see the rape CG first. Half the fun of MGQ for me was wondering what was around the corner, so many fappable monsters in this game that was occasionally bogged down by one drawn by them. The game was, without doubt, a means for me to fap AND enjoy a nice story.

I understand that Xelvy isn't necessarily a bad artist, the stuff he draws is just unappealing to me right away except for Laplace. Something like Delphinus' work just seemed like the artist just truly lacks talent. Odd shaped bodies, unappealing faces, it was like he'd be drawing for only a few weeks at best. Setouchi I think just got complacent with his own work.

The game was pretty easy, you're not wrong, and you could fly by over half the fights no problem. It's still just a shame that a couple of the artists didn't produce the same quality as others.

It still truly is fascinating to me. Though the MGQ universe is even more so.

In part because of how MGQ monsters are still actual monsters, they arent there to just sex you, they will do what they want, how they want, when they want. And unless you are a Deviant Art tier hero, you are most likely going to get fucked, eaten, and killed. And most likely not in that order.

It's an encyclopedia and written as such. Granted, there are, apparently, doujins and such now to give it more life, but it feels very dry going by the entries alone. There are a few exceptions and a general attempt to establish the world outside the individual entries, but they're never the main focus.
