I found the anime adaptation of this shit, and after nearly causing me a mental break down from anxiety I decided to give the manga a read, to prevent any suicidal thoughts. What I expected to be a "two unlikely lovers falling for each other" story turned out to be a NTR fuckfest. These niggers don't help me escape the reality that is everyone is manipulative and in it for themselves, although I respect the author's way of staying away from romance cliches, this piece of shit is just cruel. The whole first half has you rooting for the main characters to get together through their mutual heartbreak, but instead gives you a story that inevitably splits off from each other making the characters almost foreign to one another. This fucking cunt of an author deserves to burn in hell. Fuck this story, and fuck Mengo Yokoyari, the cruel sadistic whore who wrote this piece of shit. Despite this I am intrigued by her story telling and wish to check out her other stories, but fuck Kuzu no Honkai. It will take all of your hopes and dreams and crush them in an instant.

Hello. I'm here to tell you that Kuzu No Honkai is the best show of the season. While you may be caught up in the muck of the story and disliking how different it is that it doesn't outright appeal to the viewers, this still has the elements of a good piece of work. It has undertones of different relationship tropes, takes societal structures face on, and EVERY character has a purpose in the latter principles. It's wayyyy different from the usual shit that's been put out. While it's definitely not something "comfy" we can appreciate the undertones that are vaguely absent from usual fun and simple animes.

See this for an example. It's a rather dumb response to dislike an anime because they stopped doing cute things and then deviate into a vague rebuttal about "forced" characters. If I would give it a criticism, is Mugi's "redemption" from Akane was too shallow in comparison to Hanabi. I would also criticize both Narumi and Akane's character and the love interests that initially got Hanabi and Mugi attached as being shallow. Both those reasons are important to the whole story, not just isolated nit-pickings. I also think it's less important to stress on the open relationships and instead focus on the reasons why the relationships are occurring. There's a reason for Ecchan being so popular, particularly here, is because she's a trope many experience here—humorously unknowingly.

The thing is the relationship between them already has been developing. They both have been starting to see each other differently. There's multiple scenes of that. It's already confirmed that Hanabi started having feelings for Mugi in the manga and Mugi is thinking about her more and more and it's only time since he finally realizes. There's a ton of foreshadowing, setup and symbolism. The author loves that red string of fate symbolism that it's being used for a magazine cover and the cover of the opening song cd.

You can say they haven't seen each other for 15 chapters but how many times have they been doing their own things and then right after seeing each other once again? When Hanabi was withecchan and Mugi was with his old Senpai. They came back for each other. When Hanabi was at it with the college boy while Mugi was with Moka. They came back once again and each time their feelings grew stronger despite not having seen each other for a while. The same thing is happening once again. They're both doing their own thing and finishing their own things. Ecchan breaking things with Hanabi while Akane broke her relationship with Mugi. It's pretty damn predictable and highly likely they'll see each other again. There's no reason to be unhappy and not stay true to their feelings and just be friends. Nothing is stopping them from being lovers after the obscales are out of the way.
