I have no idea how this could have continued with Swim Swim still a major player. Remember that Ripple was a borderline case just for killing one person in revenge. Swim Swim would have either ended up in jail or memory wiped had she lived. Maybe someone would secretly give her memories back, but why bother? With her weakness she'd lose to half the cast, and her personality is awful for cooperation. She wants to rule, it's why she attacked Ripple at the end, and any meeting with an official or mastermind type probably would have ended in violence.
More importantly though, that was before he rewrote Restart to let Pfle live and define the future course of the series. Things must have been very different back when he thought Swim Swim had a chance.

If I read those side stories correctly then part of the reason why Leonetta took on extra work in her line of work is because she really needed that crystal. Is it possible then that Lapis Lazuline, due to unknowingly worsening Leonetta's situation, can be held partially responsible for Leonetta being forced to assist Melville and kill @NyanNyan?

What do you mean? Kanoe is not disabled nor uses an eyepatch. She walks around just fine. Pfle is the one who uses the wheelchair, and she doesn't use her MG form in front of her family.
