Things like "Can a ghost be outrun if the girl can run laps forever? If the person was extremely heavy, could they be dragged into the haunted painting still? What would happen if you were to catch the ghost that jumps off the school roof?"

A man starting a new life in a new town wakes up at the scene of an accident. His accident. Someone had dragged him out of his car and took off in a hurry just as he was waking up. Or rather, something did. He couldn't make it out properly but he knew its silhouette and its lanky scampering movements could hardly be described as human.

Once the local authorities see him safely to his new house, he tries to officially get his new life off to a good start but is plagued by paranoia leftover from his old life. Afraid that his old life found him so much sooner than he had ever expected, he takes measures to make certain of whether or not he was just imagining things. Unfortunately for him however, he wasn't imagining it. Even more unfortunate, it wasn't his old life coming to haunt him but whatever it was that dragged him out of his wreck the night he arrived.

One by one, the people around him soon begin behaving unusually and anytime he tries to learn more or do something about it the weirdness only spreads farther and wider. One day, pretending to be in on their secret, he follows the weirdos to one of their meetings and learns that the town is falling prey to a race of bodysnatchers that are getting ready to do something big in a few weeks time.

He tries to gather together a resistance under their noses passing off his exterminations as accidents but for every step forward he takes he ends up taking two steps back when it's all said and done. When the big day comes, he is left with very few choices and opts out to start a new life somewhere else and forget about the town. While the bodysnatchers make their big push to take over the remaining half of the town out in the open, the man tries to save whoever he can and trap and kill as many of the monsters he can on his way out.

The MC is a lonely salaryman with a hero complex. One day he gets isekai'd into a fantasy battle shounen like show where he meets the Main Girl who is the chosen one of sorts. She travels with this RPG like party and her quest is to defeat the Main Villain who is the evil terrorizing the land, one thing led to another and MC ends up joining the party. MC has no powers whatsoever but because of his complex, he wants to be stronger than the Main Girl to protect her. He loses every time he spars with her and this frustrates him to no end.

Instead of getting good, the MC decided to meet up with the Main Villain and form a contract with her for some quick power up. In exchange, the MC will sell out his newfound comrades to the Main Villain. So as the story progresses, the Main Girl's party starts to drop like flies thanks to the MC leaking info but this does not concern the MC since he starts winning some of his fights with the Main Girl thanks to his new cheating powers, the MC and Main Girl also start getting close to each other.

The final episode will be the Main Girl and the MC reaching the Main Villain's lair for the final battle and the Main Villain kisses the MC in front of the Main Girl as she then drops the bombshell that she and the MC has been working together all along much to the disgusts and outrage of the Main Girl, Main Villain and the MC then team up and kills the Main Girl. A portal then open ups leading back to MC's world, it turns out that the Main Villain was the one who summoned the MC all along. The show ends with the Main Villain retiring from her role as the main villain and follows the MC back to Japan where she is now stripped off her powers and becomes the MC's housewife.

They both live happily ever after, the end.

In a last ditch effort, the man tries to persuade them into letting them go as they are not all too keen on their threat of suicide. Reluctant to see their bodies go to waste, the bodysnatchers let them leave town in peace and the survivors look for new lives of their own with the man who only just joined their community three months before.

I call this one "A Strange New Start". The twist is that the man was already a bodysnatcher but his being in an accident screwed up the consciousness takeover so everyone thought he was actually playing the other side through most of the story.

Advances in biology and chemistry had enabled the development of human slave clones that can be biologically programmed for labor created from the DNA of citizens which is obtained through blood samples extracted from newly born infants. To distinguish these clones from regular humans, they are made with grey eyes and display no ability for self reflection. The manufacturing and production of sentient clones are deemed illegal by law.

MC is a worker in one of of the oligarchs responsible for providing these slave labor to markets worldwide. Unable to cope with the recent death of his wife, the idea popped into his mind that he could simply make a clone of her, just with modifications to enable sentience and a normal human lifespan. All is well as MC had cloned his wife unbeknowst to his higherups and colleagues. Unfortunately, a surprise inspection by the government threatens MC's project, forcing him to eject his wife's clone prematurely which now makes her biologically ten years old.

With his project to bring back his wife failed, MC has no choice but to raise the child as his own. All had been well for four years, until one day the child realizes her origins and struggles from identity issues as she perceives herself not as a regular human but as one of the many mindless slaves operated by humanity and sees them as having lost their sentience by some form of mind control. MC's 'daughter' now rebels and it is up for MC to try to stop her and conceal it all before he is found out and ultimately, before she could mess up the balance of the system by being known to the world.

A girl transfers into a new school. However, all the students are cliched anime archtypes. She must try to have a normal life despite being surrounded by these strange people, while fighting creeping doubt if she's actually a normal person or one of these cliched archtypes too.
