I PLACE ONE CARD FACE DOWN AND END MY TURN, YOUR MOVE.
I tap 3 mana and play a morph card face down as a 2/2 creature
I NOW PLAY MY MAGIC CARD, POT OF GREED.
The card game how it's played in the anime and how real life players actually play is like night and day. For the sake of time, budget, and shounen shenanigans, the card game is dramatically different to the normal real life wombo combos
>He's not a good enough duelist to create a brand new card in the middle of a game
Get a load of this dweeb
>Arc-V starts by the protagonist creating a new summoning rule out of his ass in the middle of a match
>everyone just goes "wow neat"
Dueling is primeval to this world. The depictions on the cards hold some measure of the power of the monster and Koiba only found a way to project it. As shit as it sounds, he didn't "make" the rule, he """discovered"""". If it wasn't supposed to work, the card just wouldn't function or whatever. Or maybe it would. I'm talking out if my ass
Long story short: rape
Play by play breakdown
>Normal Summon Predaplant Ophyrus Scorpio, effect activates discarding Speedroid Terrortop to special summon Predaplant Darling Cobra
>Darling Cobra activates, allowing me to search my deck for any "fusion" card, in this case "Instant Fusion"
>Predaplants are overlayed to xyz summon M X-Saber Invoker, invoker special summons Zoodiac Ratpier from deck
>Zoodiac combo ensues, resulting in Castel and Zoodaic Drident being summoned
>Castel and Drident deal with the backrow
>Double Summon is activated allowing for an additional normal summon
>Instant Fusion is activated summoning Independent Nightingale from the Extra Deck
>Independent Nightingale is tributed to summon The Tyrant Neptune
>The Tyrant Neptune gains all of Nightingale's atk and effects including unaffected by card effects, 500+ atk points for each level and dealing 500 damage times it's level once per turn.
>First I place one card face down (magic/trap zone)
>Play Pot of Greed
>Now I activate Dark Hole
>Chain activate Pyramid of Light off of Dark Hole
>Pay 500 LP to special summon Andro Sphinx
>Pay 500 LP to special summon Sphinx Teleia
>Pay 500 LP to send them to the graveyard and special summon Theinen the Great Sphinx
>Equip Theinen the Great Sphinx with Megamorph
>Attack you for 10,000 points of direct damage.
Yeah, and Konami got sued over the new XYZLGBTSYNCHRO69 Circle jerk shit because they intentionally overpowered newer cards and banned older cards they considered to be overpowered in a money grab attempt to make people spend 5 dollars to get 11 cards with only a tiny chance to get something rare.
Take my 15 Just Desserts and shove them up your ass.
Wouldn't stop, just slow it down. Because you need at least 3 XYZ's on the field to pull something like that off, you would need a LINK that gave you 3 zones. So it's just however much set it up takes to get that up + the current set up.
I hear voices in my head.
They counsel. They understand.
They talk to me.
>Just read about LInk Summoning
This game died to me today
I honestly hope they will. The worst part about that deck is that it's my fuck around deck. It has meta components in it, but that combo (tyrant + nightingale) isn't even considered good in the current meta.
Haha it took me 3 cards but now I'm halfway read to complete my synchro-summon.
Well, after looking this up I couldn't find anything. I heard this in the local tournament circle when I was still in high school and too young to look stuff up on my own.
But you have to admit, banning older cards for being too OP just so you can force a new meta based on legal OP cards is a pretty shitty thing for them to do.
>So is yugioh just a combo fiesta?
>Are any other archetypes even viable
Archetypes as in aggro, midrange, control and combo; yugioh decks really don't fit those descriptions that well given it's lack of a resource system.
Archetype in the yugioh sense as a collection of cards; in the current meta, not any more. Every deck runs the Zoodiac Engine because it's just too good not to, so about 6-8 Cards in main and 5 in Extra are devoted to it. The previous meta (last week in the tcg) had a much higher amount of variety in viable decks
>do both players just play their entire decks trying to nuke eachother first
Synchro decks will try that but rank 4 xyz, which is far more common, the goal is more or less to stop the other guy from playing yugioh.
Except most of the truly OP cards were banned and stayed banned even before new cards turned up (Yata, the Envoys etc). Some of the old bans/restricted actually went from being unbanned to straight unlimited (like Black Hole being a classic example) because they are no longer OP.
YGO has plenty of issues, but your logic is rather faulty.
DARK Cybers-Type Link Effect Monster
Links: Up, Bottom Left, Bottom Right
Materials: 2 or more Effect Monster
(1) This card gains 500 ATK for each monster Linked to it.
(2) When an opponent’s card effect that targets a card you control is activated: You can Tribute 1 of your monsters Linked to this card; negate that activation, and if you do, destroy it.
Just how many cards that you're allowed to have in a deck now?
From that webm I think at least you need to use half of the old deck (40 cards) just to summon a fucking high level monster.
If I use Needle Worm deck, I believe you'll be done in no time.
That was a 40 card deck. It used about I think 11 from the main deck including my starting hand and first draw. So no, needle worm will do nothing when Tyrant wins in 2 turns.
Sorry mate, one thing a lot of people who are only acquainted with the old game (pre XYZ) don't realise is that the game is even more different than they expected. You'd be lucky if you even managed to flip summon it once successfully. The current play style is all about being able to search out and summon powerful monsters in a single turn AND negate the shit out of multiple things, again, all in one turn.
See the current Blue Eyes deck for instance. Managed to summon one Blue eyes monster? Oh, go ahead and summon another one while triggering its effect of destroy/banishing opponent's card or some shit. You'll barely have a chance to even set your Needle Worm once.
LINK 3 means you need 3 non-Link monsters or 1 non-Link and 1 LINK 2 monster to summon it.
The materials just prevent you from using a LINK 3 to summon another LINK 3.
The way I see it is that when using a LINK X monster for a Link summon, it counts as X materials on its own. So you could use 2 LINK 2s for a LINK 4, or a LINK 3 and a non-Link.
I PLAY MY QUICK PLAY MAGIC CARD "DUEL ANOTHER DAY"
THIS CARD'S EFFECT STATES THAT THE DUEL ENDS INSTANTLY IF BOTH PLAYER'S LIFE POINTS ARE OF EQUAL VALUE, ADDITIONALLY, UNLESS THE OPPONENT SHAKES HANDS WITH THE USER WHO ACTIVATED THIS CARD'S EFFECT, THE USER WINS THE DUEL; OTHERWISE, IT'S A DRAW. THIS CARD'S EFFECT CANNOT BE NEGATED. ONLY ONE "DUEL ANOTHER DAY" CAN BE ACTIVATED PER DUEL. FOR EVERY TIME THIS CARD IS ACTIVATED PER DUEL, PLACE ONE "GG" COUNTER ON THIS CARD. THE COUNTER DOES NOTHING, IT JUST LETS YOUR OPPONENT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES YOU PLAYED IT.
>If I use Needle Worm deck, I believe you'll be done in no time.
Haha no. If anything, you've just made things easier for your opponent since he can now just special summon straight from the grave instead of searching for it.
As Kaiba once said, the grave is but a pit stop from getting to the field. Even chaos/D.D./banish decks are no longer the crazy overpowered cards they used to be. Let alone discarding decks.
>use this card at a tournament so often until the opponent can't show up and loses by default
Heh, nothing personal.
I can't keep up with this game anymore.
YuGiOh Power of Chaos PC game is my beloved game and the only game that I have on my computer.
Not that my computer can't run AAA games, I just have motion sickness when I'm playing it.
>the current Blue Eyes deck for instance
Oh god this. Because of the new movie/ manga storytime threads, I tried getting back to the game. Went on to YGOPro and got floored hard. Like, lost to 8K full health hard.
>set some traditional trap cards (mirror force, magic cylinder, that sort, feeling happy to find that mirror force is no longer restricted)
>set some traditionally strong low level effect monsters etc
>have like at most 4 cards on the field
>opponent summon like 3 BEWD variants I've never seen
>destroyed all cards in my spell/trap zone
>monster's effect got negated
I lost so quickly I didn't even have time to process it. Fuck it.
despite that it's fake I like how the card can only be played if both player's life points are equal. It's like Konami actually did release a card like this without the "equal life point value" prerequisite so everyone in tournaments spammed this card whenever they were just about to lose, and then they errata'd it so that essentially the only time you can realistically use it in a duel is during the first few turns
I'm not sure if I don't understand how Pendulums work or if they're simply so ridiculous that I'd rather believe I don't understand them.
Apparently they let you summon anything for free and with no drawbacks and that's it?
Main drawback is you need Pendulum scales, so before you summon a single fucker, you have to (usually) invest 2 cards. If even one of those scales gets destroyed, you can't do pendulum summons
Most of the old tactics and philosophies are pretty much obsolete. Remember how they used to tell you to keep the number of high level monsters to the minimum? People barely give a shit about vanilla tribute summons as you can now special summon plenty of monsters with ease. Then there's of course, xyz summons where some xyz mon needing 2 level 4 materials is posing a way bigger threat than some lv 7+ monster.
One thing I don't like about modern YuGiOh, or at least as modern as it was the last time I played, was how every deck was an archetype deck. I used to always play a deck that focused on getting high ATK and direct damage very quickly, I'd kick a lot of ass with it, but eventually I didn't kick any more ass. So then I learned to play Ghostricks because they were cute, and I kicked some ass again, but I feel like the deck was already built for me. Then there's Vanguard, I don't play Vanguard but it seems like literally every deck is an archetype deck in that game, like they just decided to make their own YGO except only taking the aspects that "worked" and avoiding all the mistakes and artifacts YGO made over the years.
Not like I'm an expert at TCGs or anything, I'm just a casual but that's how it looks like to me.
I've never even played with real cards, only on GBA/DS/PSP.
>hurr durr one thing I don't like about a game I barely have any actual knowledge of is this and that but who am I to say I'm just a casual babby durr
that's what you sound like
>those guys that almost won the 5ds-tournament full of god-users with nothing but old, common, low level vanilla monsters
I really wanted them to win
you dumbass that one was already posted, now I have to finish the job
Yo who has the Yu gi oh duel links game
Fight me my name is ScrewRule$$$
Not yet. Rat's effect is so stupid it can just summon enough monsers to link and then summon a couple Xyz's anyway. Rat needs to go.
After that, it all depends what happens with Links. Honestly I would have preferred if they just made all the changes without adding links, even if that would make many a card unplayable. I've been burned too many times to expect this shit not to be broken in 1/2 sets.
I have been playing yugioh with my best friend for 11 years now, and i have never beaten him. What am i doing wrong? I mean, i do have some pretty dank cards, why do i keep loosing?
First off, The Pendullum zones were fused with the S/T zones. This means you set the pendullum cards in the outermost pendullum zones. As such, you can't set pendullum scales when you have spells or traps set in there, as well as you have only 3 S/T zones with both pendullum scales set.
Moreover, there is now only one zone that you can summon monsters from the extra deck without using the Link monsters (those allow you to use some of the other zones for extra deck summoning). I am NOT sure how this interacts with summoning face-up pendullums from the Extra deck, but I'm afraid they'd also be limited to that one spot.
...+ Qli Scout is currently still limited.
I do have a strategy. It is called: survive. My enemy literally trolls me and toys with me, thanks to the fact that he has such a op/troll deck. Any strategy i start, he just negates.
>It is called: survive
That's not a strategy, retard. No wonder you lose. You think like a child
>Those cards are powerful! So I'll randomly throw multiple copies of them! Combo? Tactics? What's that?
No mate, your deck has NO strategy. You only have a bunch of high level monsters (many of them bad), some bad S/T cards, as well as a couple of banned/limited cards. It's actually funny how you're calling his deck OP when you're the one playing Change of Heart and Monster Reborn (banned, banned).
Out of curiosity, what cards is your friend playing?
Again, why even bother putting banned (powerful) cards if you know jack shit on how to use them? It's like handing you a gun when you have shit tier aim, have zero training. No shit, you lost.
That's not a strategy.
Buy a structure deck (ideally 3 copies of the same structure deck, but let's not get ahead of ourselves). That should be a major improvement in of itself, for they have a build-in strategy, synergy, and playable card ratios.
With that, you should have a pool of cards that play well with each other from which you can experiment and learn about deckbuilding.
All the structure decks that came out during the last 3-4 years could be made into playable decks when combining chosen cards from 3 copies (never competitive outright, but often able to put up a fight at the time of their release and sometimes only requiring a couple cards to become semi-competitive or even outright good in case of HERO Strike).
The drawback is that you need to place two pendulum cards on the field to even summon (so a 3 card investment to summon one monster), if your summon gets negated you lose everything you tried to summon, and pendulum cards in the pendulum zone can be destroyed with any number of spell destroying cards which results in you being unable to pendulum summon unless you have another pendulum to fill that spot (god help you if you don't have one with a decently usable scale) within your hand.
Also, you can only pendulum summon once a turn.
It's prolly the weakest summon method that isn't shit.
I only played a bit until maybe 5-6 booster packs where released......so fucking confused. I guess everything is a place for monster cards now? even other monsters? Do you also put monsters on your field card space? Or literally face up on your deck? Can monsters act from the graveyard ny putting them on top of it?
The guy in the video is displaying the new link mechanic. The reason one monster is placed above the others is because extra deck monsters (Fusion, Synchro, XYZ) can now only be placed in a single spot on the field (a new 6th monster zone placed above the others on the field), unless that spot is held by a Link monster which has arrows on the card itself which permit you to summon the other extra deck monsters onto the monster zones on the field at the exact spaces which the arrows point to.
XYZ monsters (black cards) are monsters that require overlapping monsters of the same level. The deck being displayed is a special case that also allows you to overlay XYZ monsters over XYZ monsters as per the card's effects.
You need to send monsters equal to the LINK, but also fulfill the material requirement. For example, Decode Talker there can be summoned by sending 3 monsters to the graveyard, two of which have to be effect, or a LINK 2 effect monster and another effect monster.
The duel disc recognized it, so it's legitimate. When people cheat, it's known to give ERRORs and shut down the duel. In fact, near the ending of arc-V you see someone play an illegal card, and it kills the duel in exactly this way. So since this didn't happen, it was a legitimate summon method.
What does this guy mean /a/? https://twitter.com/hagaoto7018/status/832822558449741824
Also I keep reading the article about new rule changes and I still can't understand it. Please help this dumb anon desu
There's now only one zone you can summon extra deck monsters to by default, while the others need to be unlocked with the new mechanic. So if you manage to block all the important zones, you can pretty much shut your opponents out of their boss monsters.
git gud New playing rule is that Extra Deck(Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Link) can only be summon onto the Extra Monster Zone OR Main Monster Zone indicated by the Link monster. To put it simply, if you run zero Link, you can only summon 1 Extra Deck monster.
that doesn't even make any sense
and fucking really?
>h-huurrr j-j-jealous anon?
if you're really that insecure when someone pokes fun at your preference over a fucking language then why are you browsing 4chan
It's less that and more that I have watched Yu-Gi-Oh! only in Japanese.
The English dub simply does not resonate with me.
I can look past Kaiba's deficits, if it's his Japanese voice, since that voice actually transports the impression that he deservingly sees himself as superior to everyone else. His English voice makes him feel like a stupid retard.
did I hurt your feelings anon? I'm sorry your ego is that vulnerable that you'd feel attacked for indirectly being labeled autistic. Are you just going to keep replying now until you feel like you've won?
Ron. Daisangen. 48000.
>mfw Berserker Soul is an actual card now
Why no one redesign cards template? It looks like a piece of shit.
I played YGO Links and it's still that crappy design and shitty art.
Would Weevil have been less annoying if he was a girl?
>haven't played the game since 2006
>BLS limited to one
>raigeki no longer banned but Harpie's feather duster still is
Is it even viable to play a chaos deck nowdays and still put up a fight?
Last they were really relevant was 2 years ago I think. BLS Envoy and Sorcerer are limited, former because of the new support BLS got including a brand new ritual. I don't remember whether or not Dragon is still banned
If Yata is still banned, I'm more than certain CED is as well. I remember getting one from a booster pack 2 days after he was first put on the list
and then some fucker stole it.
The game doesn't have many cards, and for balance issues they even removed many original cards. Pvps basically revolve around using http://duellinks.gamea.co/c/r0k3kdnv and whatever your strongest 4* monsters and equip spell are.
>mfw using a Naturia deck, with bamboo shoot, drill barnacle, black garden and gravity bind
READY SO HAVE SOME FUN BUDDY
Check the OCG text. Basically, activating CED's effect means you can't activate any other monster effects for the turn, and the burn damage is only based on the opponent's cards sent to the graveyard, instead of all of them.
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. During the turn you activate this card’s effect, you cannot activate other effects. (1) Once per turn: You can pay 1000 LP; send all cards on the field and in both players’ hands to the Graveyard, then inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each of your opponent’s cards sent by this effect.
> During the turn you activate this card’s effect, you cannot activate other effects.
>damage to your opponent for each of your opponent’s cards
that's kind of the whole point of yu-gi-oh
Is there any card game that's like a mix of Tabletop RPGs?
Like, you literally makeup duels as you go like in the early Yugioh anime and if the explanation is convincing enough the DM lets you do your action.
>Link card doesn't have DEF
>You can't use Trap/Spell zone anymore if you decide to summon Pendulum monster
>You can't summon XYZ card unless Link monster's effect allowed to
>that GX duel where both players received 50k damage
Zane vs. Jaden with Battle Fusion?
That outfit is pretty cool, desu.
Why are all of the Insect players male anyway? Aren't the insects that typically do things female?
No the issue is the SPECIAL SUMMON cancer it is the special summon that is the base of all extra deck spam, nerfing special summon nerfs extra deck spam big time.
>Lol I summon a monster that allows me to special summon this tuner from my hand
This Link Summon thing will cause an influx of special summon cancer Boss Monsters like during the GX times.
Allow to explain how yugioh became cancer
Monster 1 is a Rank 4 XYZ monster
Monster 2 is a 4S monster that can be special summoned from your hand by discarding one continuous spell card
The continuous spell card once destroyed by card effect allows you to draw 3 cards then banish two in your hand.
You banish a monster whos effect is when this card is removed from your hand by the effect of a spell card special summon Monster 4 in face up attack position
And just like that you have magically gotten TWO 4S monsters on the field and can now Xyz Summon into Monster 1.
The Xyz monster has an effect:
Detach 1 xyz material from this card to select one continuous spell card in your graveyard and add it to your hand.
Now special summon Monster 2 again and repeat this until you have three Xyz monsters on the field IN ONE TURN.
The cancer is caused by metafags discovering unstable long ass combos.
I summon Photon Satellite and use its effect to make it Level 8! I then Overlay it into New Orders 8: Etheric Sebek! Sebek allows me to add 1 Spell/Trap from my Deck to the hand. I activate two Numbers Evaille from my hand and Special Summon, Number C1000: Numerronia and Number 99: Hope Dragun! I activate Numerronia to target HopeDragon and destroy it! Hope Dragun's effect activates, If this card would leave the field, I detach one overlay unit to negate that effect and destroy all other monsters in the field and you take 13000 damage!
She's the best magic equip card.
Fucking bullshit game. Fucking meteor dragon coming out of nowhere. FUCKING PLANET ORIENTATIONS? WHAT THE FUCK DOES NEPTUNE MEAN? FUCKING 3000ATK MONSTERS ON TURN 2 I HATE MYSELF;
It was a fun bullshit game.
I've not touched the game in years, what makes this card OP?
So with these new xyz/synchro nerfs, arent all decks that rely on syncing then reviving into more syncs/xyz fucked? I last played right after xyz's came out and they released that bullshit banlist
5D's storytime when!??!? Come on storytime brah
Proud falcon, flap your wings, dyed with the blood of the hero. And race through the path of revolution! Rank Up Xyz Change! Come forth! Rank 6! Raid Raptors - Revolution Falcon!
>Is Yuzu in this universe?
>Nope! Better not turn the page
>there will be no anime of SoI/EM
>there will be no animation to show the power of Emrakul
>no corrupted angelfu's
>no shounen style final fight where, as a last ditch effort, Tamiyo puts Emrakul in the moon
I have fleeting hope.
For anime purposes? Yugioh
Imagine a show about people playing mtg, it'd literally just be two chubby dudes in glasses saying a total of 20 words to eachother and occasionally a great topdeck
Emrakul was one of the strongest creatures in all of the planes, and she wanted to siphon the mana from all planes, corrupting everything except planeswalkers.
The said planeswalkers weren't happy with everything turning to bone. Being unable to gib her, they put her in the moon.
Just a reminder that Buster Blader can only gain ATK from the field OR the graveyard you don't get both.
The story they released about Emrakul being sealed revealed that she took over Tamiyo's mind and changed her scrolls around from a world destroying spell to a powerful sealing spell. Emrakul did seal herself in the moon because the universe wasn't ready
I panic and drop my deck on the floor, where they lay over the spaghetti.
there's a lightsworn/light ray deck that utilizes magical merchant where I can see this being used. Although the damage it does is practically useless because otherwise if you got the combo off you'd probably win.
I remember doing something similar waaaaaaaaay back in the day. It was an all or nothing 9k direct damage attack.
>play Jinzo #7
>play united we stand, attach it to Jinzo #7
>play limiter removal
>card ability only says "Draw 2 cards"
>everyone keeps pulling from the top of their deck
It's not against the rules if you were to just draw 2 random cards from the entirety of your deck, is it?
He can do that, yeah, but that would require him to want to draw Exodia for five turns in a row, which gives him no support to whatever he has on the field. Not to mention that Pegasus would probably have Exchange or something and just take one of his pieces just to be a dick.
Also, Exodia would be a massive crutch for him and wouldn't allow him to have bullshit new strategies, which was half the fun of the series.
yugioh doesn't care about grammer or rules text
If the judge says it does get both, then it does
It's why there are rules and conditions not written on cards that still take effect in game
>"I place one card face down and end my turn!"
>"What could his face down card be?? I've got to think.. does he know I'm about to play my ace monster? I've seen his playstyle before, it must be a trap.. but can I risk it? Wait, maybe I can bait him out if I use my other monster's special ability first..."
>"I place three cards face down and end my turn!"
>"HAHA HE HAS NOTHING ON THE FIELD, I SEND IN MY STRONGEST MONSTER TO ATTACK DIRECTLY, WHAT COULD GO WRONG HAHA LOL"
- Large cards investments. You need to set scales (-2) to at least summon one. Scales occasionally have important effects here or there, but for the most part they're dead cards.
- Susceptible to being negated all at once, i.e. if you set 2 scale and summon 3. Scales are also susceptible to being destroyed by standard S/T removal, so unless you can set up a replacement you're boned
- You lose more hand advantage than XYZ/Synchro because the monster you're summoning doesn't come from the Extra Deck. You also risk bricking if you decide to a run a big boss monster to be pendulum summoned.
In overall, its a pretty weak summoning methods. The only truly OP Pendulum based decks is EmEm/PePe, and not because of the pendulum mechanics. Qli was T1 for a time due to its ability to abuse Skill Drain.
Sort of. Its better than Dignity of the Retarded yellow HK subs, but there's still some really stupid error (Black Sphere. Black Magician is clearly holding a Spear. Calling Silent Magician Silent Swordsman, etc...), but its a whole lot more watchable.
That's because since he ran a fusion deck, Jaden was completely reliant on having a poly and at least two fusion-able monsters, which really limited his hand after the first turn. Contact fusion made things better, but the series was already almost over by that point.
>That 12 min related video explaining what Pot of Greed does.
Shit, Yu-gi-oh duels in the anime had always been kind of grounded to work around the whole 4,000 life point duels. When I saw this episode as a kid, shit was pretty hype.
>Only one extra deck monster allowed now.
I'm done. I'm fucking done.
Then don't come to a ygo thread, retard. Go start your own vg thread.
You were already done for years then, which means it's no longer even relevant to you in the first place.
Too late for that.
Let me get this straight
Kaiba's autistic obsession with Atem led to killing any hope of a "promise land" in the latest movie
This whole time I was trying to figure out which side character Syrus is supposed to be based on and it's only while watching this that I realize that he's basically regular Yugi.
I feel dumb.
Technically, there's nothing in the rulebook that explicitly says 'no magic allowed'. Yugioh is magical boys who happen to play a game instead of just magic beaming their opponents
It lets you keep playing cards everywhere forever.
Anyone who pulls this shit deserves castration
Just installed Legacy of the duelist after this thread, second match Yugi VS Kaiba, using their original decks, this bullshit (and you have three no less) card lets you just keep drawing all the deck till EXODIA GET. Was Yugi this crazy strong at the beginning of the series? Damn.
Or you should just stop playing the game all together. That sort of play style has been the norm for quite a while now and what you have seen isn't even like the most popular decks. For reference, you can pull similar shit with BEWD decks.
I miss the days before Jeremy Jarvis took over the art direction for Magic.
I guess I'd have to watch the show to understand.
Looking up the actual card effect, I really don't see what the advantage of it is unless you're attacking something face-down or in defense mode. Seems pretty shitty compared to something like Mage Power.
The basic context is that whenever Smile World shows up in the anime, antagonists inevitably get brainwashed into stopping whatever they're doing and become jovial good guys. It's terrible
