What went wrong, /a/ ?
Wasn't this supposed to be the next grand shonen? Wasn't this supposed to become as big as Naruto?
shitty exposure, unknown author, rushed ending, horrible anime adaptation
a shame too, this is one of my favorite manga of all time
Dragonball came back from the dead and stole it's anime.
Season 2 after DBS?
it was unique in its own way. I enjoyed reading it for its crazy shit. Toriko is based most of the time and Acacia is fucking savage when it comes to taunting people.
Mangaka got bored or canned and rushed towards the end.
The whole finding new and unique dishes took a backseat to typical shonen fights.
Admitingly despite the rushed ending it did have one of the more satifsying and comfy endings out there where pretty much everyone came and ate the dishes that Toriko had found all throughout his adventures and of course GOD.
The pacing went to absolute shit after Century Soup arc.
Arcs that felt like they could have been something were one-two chapters, the adventure aspect got diluted a bit and there was far too many power ups outside of just 'Good Food' happening to close to one another.
Then when the Chef arc happened the status quo changed too much too fast and then the pacing just became a complete diarrhea mess.
If the pacing was just a bit tighter, add a few more girls (one for each of the HK would have been nice. You know Zebra and some brown muscle chef chick arguing would have been cute) and expanded on things such as each HK's animal companion and them each getting a chef of their own and you'd have had a solid Food Porn Adventure manga with punching and other BS.
