The thing they've done now is changed the game completely.
This isn't just an addition to the game like XYZ and Synchro which just sped up the game and caused huge powercreep but now you unironically have to run Link Monsters as a necessity and if I recall you are still limited to 15 monsters meaning a fair portion of those are going to have to be Links just to use the extra deck.
Combine that with the left-most and right-most spots in your magic and trap zone effectively becoming pendulum zones, it means Pendulum summoning sacrifices your ability to play spells and traps making Pendulum summoning much more awkward.

In theory traps should probably see more play in a slowed down meta that is provided by Links but I'm confident that as a community we'll find a way to break Link Summoning like we have everything else and powercreep will hit back almost immediately.

Most decks bring out fields which are multiple extra deck monsters.
Things like Blackwings heavily rely on it and so forcing links just to get more space to syncho summon to bring out the Assault Blackwings for example has just gone straight to shit.
At this point I'm not even sure if you could get 3 Main Monster Spaces to even become open for synchros to commit to that level of summoning.
Extra Monster Zone one link, put a link behind that but then you've still only got two spaces from the left and right links of that second Link Monster meaning you're still short one space in theory meaning certain monsters can no longer be summoned or have to be nerfed in their effects if it requires X amount of monsters.

Literally all you have to do is swing into it. Other than Decode Talker (who is a 2300~3800 ATK monster), the strongest Link monster is a fucking 1900 ATK with nothing protecting it. If you negate the effect that makes it 1900, it goes down to 1400, making the NEXT strongest 1800 ATK.

You can kill this shit no problem with a single ED monster, and shouldn't have too much trouble killing it with a normal summon or a non-ED Special Summon.

Synchro summoning is entirely different, all they need are levels. But with Links, you need to send them to the grave. Tokens don't go in the grave so your combo does not work. If the mechanic called for just using them as material like Synchros, then sure, but that doesn't apply here.

Not really. The hard part is still getting both Neos AND a Neo Spacian on board AND having Neospace up. Link Summoning doesn't help with that.
