>Q: The rings in episode 10 is especially shocking. Does it flow naturally itself?
>Kubo: It is necessary! At least when I was drawing the name I was very serious. At the end of episode 9, the scene of Yuuri and Victor reunited is what I always want to draw. Then in episode 10 and 11, there haven't been a scenario that's shocking enough. Episode 10 is a relaxing episode before GPF, I thought about many delightful things but it worried me there hasn't been a thing to deepen their bond. Until now, we have seen them hugging and doing what could be seen in a getsu9 romance Jdrama. I think when faced with GPF, they might need an item to support them. So once I tried searching for ring brands, I learnt engagement rings are not only meant for those who want to get married, but also are gifts for soulmates to share. More over, I found in the files of location hunting of Barcelona, there're photos of church and choir. I was like that's it!
So the rings are back to being engament rings and she compared BaldFat's relationship development to romance drama.
I'm convinced she gives her answers based on how bitter she's about being single at the time. She wasn't bitter for this interview.
Is there any more plot after the make out sessions?
She just doesn't speak that well. This is probably along what she always meant to say (it's not about them getting married, but it's still part of their romantic development) but said in a better way.
Otabek is Otabear!
That's still basically what she said before with clubmategate. She said clubmates and marriage, now she's saying soul mates and marriage. If she never mentions that word again and just sicks with soul mates that'll be all right with me.
>Script writer says it’s really just like they were before - Goto hasn’t really gotten over his heartbreak either, and they aren’t really gay for each other or anything
>Director says that they didn’t have Masayoshi say they should get married because he was gay, but just because he’s the kind of character who can say crazy stuff like that
>They never write them as gay and anyone who thought that is wrong
Poor SamuMenco fans
It's actually mainly a Bikefairy book, despite the cover. All the GPF finalists (except for JJ) visit Yuutopia. Hijinks ensue.
Do you really think he's "confused", Anon?
Ass needs to be way fatter but god fucking damn
>falls in love with Victor in Bahamut world
>Baldfat gets overjoyed
>starts planning the rest of their lives and their family together
>Piggy has never been so happy
>Victor is rubbing his belly in bed with him when suddenly Piggy wakes up
>the whole thing is a dream and his baby is gone
This is like when that /sci/ anon showed up to explain pneumonia
Poor Piggy, unless there's a medical miracle he'll never realize his dream. A surrogate wouldn't be the same.
When will we get more epic Bahamut dialogs? The ones from yesterday annihilated my sides.
>the whole thing is a dream and his baby is gone
You fucked up
>the whole thing is a dream and he's just working in his parents onsen instead of being Japan's top skater and Viktor nikiforov's boyfriend
Yuuri looks good. I was just expecting a different expression.
>Blad looks ugly as fuck and Makkachin is cockblocking his daki
>Pig is wearing his ring and I'm not into NTR
>The little kid is the only one that actually looks good
I hate these things. At least my money is safe.
This is the only time I have called for dead of the author, anyone who rewatched the series after the end will notice that the ending did made sense
He also said the characters are all stupid and had no development, which is false, look at Mari.
I'm glad the mangaka and mobage just went deaf and ran with the marriage idea.
What the fuck is on writer's heads sometimes
>only fairy looks good
Goddamnit. I gotta say, I'm disappointed yet relieved.
Literally why would any sober person say this in this situation?
I can't call Chris' ice dancer Kotomine anymore. It's Masumi. Chris couldn't get the boy with blue roses so Kubo gave him Purple Rose, kek.
MAPPA has good taste in shoujo.
Fuck, how hard is it to get art on model for important merch? It's not one of a million keychains, you'd think they could at least put in effort for the item people are going to cuddle and dry hump.
Sorry to be that guy, but that Q+A translation has really broken English and also leaves out content, so I retranslated it.
>Q: The scene with the rings in episode 10 was particularly extreme and quite shocking. Going by what you previously said (in her answer for the Q before this she talks about how the relationship between Victor and Yuuri ended up being way deeper than she expected), would you say this is the outcome of that relationship getting deeper?
>A: I'd say it was inevitable! At the least, when I was drawing the rough drafts, that's how I felt about it, and I drew the scene very seriously. I always wanted to draw the scene at the end of episode 9 where Yuuri and Victor reunite, so I couldn't help putting it in, and at that point, it wasn't like director Yamamoto and I had planned for any explosive scenes in episode 10 or 11. We just thought that episode 10 would be the last chance for a break before the GPF, so we tried to think up as many ways as possible to make it a really fun episode. We were struggling to think of a way we could deepen the bonds between Yuuri and Victor even more. Up until now, they'd hugged and done the kind of thing you see in popular dramas, so just when we'd thought it would be impossible to go any further, we thought that Yuuri might want an item to give him support while facing the GPF. And then when I went looking for something going through sites for different brands of rings, I saw that engagement rings aren't just for people engaged to be married to each other, but also something you give your soulmate. I thought, "This is it!" And on top of that, there were photos of churches and choirs from the materials when we went on location, so I thought, "This is the place for it!"
It's like the artists don't know how to draw good looking men. They only manage not to fuck up fairy because girlface.
They're working on the wrong show t b fucking q h
>relationship getting deeper
Nah I'm not a fucking normie I just dont watch animu on a regular basis. I prefer vidya.
My exposure to animu has been mostly narutofags and latest flavor of the month followers. Why the fuck would I have an interest in animu when thats what I know?
Fairy doesn't look particularly girly there and he looks good though.
It just seems like they didn't put effort in BaldFats, it's not like anime characters are particularly hard to draw. He even has a black pillow and they have generic patterns for theirs whereas he has the animal print.
So the artists who draw all the official art are trap lovers? because this is a regular thing, not just for these pillow covers or whatever they are. I'm not even hating, just think it's funny because as I said anime characters aren't hard to draw yet Victor and Yuuri look like someone just slapped their eyes on or literally didn't even try half the time.
Still a more effeminate and easier to draw character.
Men are harder but there's still no excuse for this
>easier to draw
They all have the standard anime character features anon, if they can draw Fairy well they SHOULD be able to draw the others half way decently as well. and again, he doesn't look girly at all there and still looks good.
>And then when I went looking for something going through sites for different brands of rings
This is a misleading translation she said "from there, when researching ring brands' websites"
>Q: The relationship between Yuuri and Victor seemed to go more and more extreme as the end approached.
>A: Yuuri's decided to call it "love" as a phrasing of what he's been looking for, without being worried about how other people might place their own values on it. As far as that wording goes, I decided that if it was necessary for the series, I would use it without any hesitation. I thought that the kind of buildup that happens with their relationship would lead to a really special ending, so I didn't decide beforehand just what kind of relationship it was going to be. In the end their relationship got as deep as possible, and even I surprised myself as I was drawing it.
など implies she was looking through other things or looking for other things as well; this is just the kind of nitpicky semantics arguments that don't mean anything.
I just now noticed she colored Fairy in with a white marker.
Okay then "I was researching ring brand websites and such"
There is a difference,
>one implies that she was searching for rings specifically and found the multiple meanings
>the other implies that she was researching things in general and decided on rings after comming across the fact that there is a way to no-marriage engagement rings and therefore went with that
It's really funny how [certain people] try to lowkey no homo soulmates
>it's not gay, they just have the deepest love possible and want to be together forever
I just think that everybody interprets every translation whichever way suits their own beliefs best, and if it doesn't fit it, they will make whatever excuse it takes to feel vindicated.
>interview implies something homo
"K-Kubo isn't the only one in charge and she even says not to pay that much attention to what she says!"
>interview implies something no-homo
"See, she even said so herself it's not that homo!"
>interview implies something homo
>interview implies something no-homo
"This is just a biased translation!"
etc etc for both ends infinitely because just reading an interview without taking it overly seriously is too hard. This happens with every interview, and it's getting kind of ridiculous.
we don't even need fanart. we are truly blessed.
She can't, I bet she just ignores it.
Nips notice baldfat and how gay it is. That's why even some nip hetfags got triggered because they actually see it as a threat. The whole thing about it not being seen as canon there is utter bullshit
Forgot my pic and doesn't matter because it's corrupted anyway. Might even request someone to post that Baha pic with Victor tit touching translation.
>interview implies something no-homo
except this never happens.
I still can't believe we got all this. Baldfat is amazing.
I don't even know if those are one person or two separate people; that's how little I give a shit about translations that come out. I buy all the magazines and read them on my own and that's good enough for me, so I don't need to read anybody's translations. I just think people's reactions are way over the top and y'all need to chill the fuck out.
Just two heterosexuals.
You're either a terrible liar or a newfag. Which is it?
VAs opinions literally do not matter. Even they say their views are not be taken as official/canon. And funnily enough, Toyonaga's interview was actually more homo than I expected from him
Maybe I'm tired but I'm not seeing a difference in translations. They both sound like Kubo specifically went for engagement rings because she was thinking marriage and soulmates for BaldFat.
I keep forgetting how gay they really are, time for a rewatch.
That's what everyone should do instead of bitching about stupid shit
Thanks anon. I just noticed it's not some random popular drama she's referring to, it's Getsuku.
Here's a video nip fans made about the airport scene. A popular 90s Getsuku theme song works well there. kek
I believe it. That's all that's going through his mind most of the time
I'm cynical fujo, so I don't see so much wrong with what he said. Yes, it felt sometimes that Masayoshi had some onesided crush on Goto, but Goto clearly never got over his dead girlfriend's V. So thinkind they really could be a couple in the end is stupid.
I wonder who corrupted the little pig
I'm a "delusional" fujo and always thought Samumenco was one of the worst shows to look for homos unless you're into lesbians, and honestly the show is mostly a fun cheap trainwreck.
>Samumenco was one of the worst shows to look for homos unless you're into lesbians,
I'm a part yurifag and while I did admittedly like the fanservice between Mari and the other girl it was honestly kinda bad and annoying in how one-sided it felt, Mari was still after Goto's dick
Nobody. He was a born a fat gay slut
Piggy's eros was there all along, it just needed to be brought out.
>Matching rings for the world for just the two of them, and goes out of the rink Yuuri...My imagination was getting a little ahead of me.
rough translation because long fucking Japanese noun modifications are a pain
Well since I posted that I actually kinda realized that Chris was likely more talking about how Yuuri's sexuality is just more coy than as in-your-face as his is. He still said Yuuri's sexuality was powerful and treated it as a force to be reckoned with.
I'm not convinced this isn't canon.
Also I'm glad /a/ agrees that Yuuri is a slutty little piggy.
On second thoughts, I imagine Victor is the poking holes in condoms type just as much as Piggy is. He's going back to skating just for Yuuri, he'd go pretty far to keep him by his side.
>Yuuri is desperate to have a bit of Viktor in himself.
>one day he drugs Viktor and performs an operation, removing Victor's kidney and putting it in himseflf
>Viktor will never know, thinking he was just a victim of organ traffickers
We all know Victor's biggest dream is to become Piggy's househusband in a small traditional japanese home in Hasetsu. He'll never get bored when Yuuri is at work because they've got this big ass closet and he can model and if he's already cleaned the entire house. Makkachin and her puppies dirtying the house keep him busy too.
Why is Yuuri literally Hitler in everything?
The face he makes is a mix of incredulousness and murderous intent.
I remember when I first time found Omegaverse stuff on pixiv and tried to understand what's going on with my limited understanding ofd kana. Omegabasu? What's that, some kind of bath?
It was the oposite for me and not even fujo. I started to notice how Goto begun collecting the magazines Masayoshi appeared on despite literally having no use for them (unfashionable, little dept, doesn't even care for those things) and how increasingly caring he got. When the gf reveal happened I noticed how the messages from gf started to push Goto towards Masayoshi little by little.
Kurata is full of shit, the fact that Goto sent her gf to Nicaragua and changed his phone speaks volumes of his progress and how he's getting over.
The entire thing was framed as a couple end. The Sawada arc, Masayoshi's reactions and conversation with Ishihara plus the ridiculous music choice for that ED framed everything like that.
The manga which is canon to the anime (it's basically about everything that couldn't be fit in the series) also frames them as a couple. Masayoshi speaks of them as if they were a couple and have been living together for six months already in Goto's apartment.
Thank you, sounded like someone was actually paying attention. This was a big one for me too
>When the gf reveal happened I noticed how the messages from gf started to push Goto towards Masayoshi little by little.
The whole final arc felt like it was mainly about them finding out their feelings. I don't care about SamFlam much anymore but it was still retarded because I remember having discussions with /a/ when it was airing about all the subtle character and relationship development.
It was natural evolution. Masayoshi wasn't a bad person and the series never frames the obsesion with his hobby as something bad (which is quite refreshing) but rather teaches him to balance his hobby with his relationships with people and made new bonds beyond Ishihara. He got his master, learned to work with a team, made friends, became a role model for many people, finding love was something well suited for a final arc.
Eh, I don't think so. I think it would be internal anger at the person and then external anger at Victor. Or he'd think Victor was cheating but in reality he wasn't.
Either way, I can see him being the really jealous, crazy type. Yandere levels.
>Men are harder
drawfag here: women are way harder.
for me, drawing bald is the easiest, fat neutral (hair) and fairy the worst.
What's the plot twist going to be in S2? My bet is that they get registry married while drunk and neither if them remember.
Q: what’s up with chris wearing specs in ep11?
A: he’s actually slightly shortsighted. in the draft, he had those ‘good-at-studying-but-hopeless-at-sports guy’ kind of lame glasses but the anime’s glasses became so fashionable/stylish i was shocked (lol). i thought it was a nice setting to have a certain famous athlete like this. when performing he wears contact lenses.
What a pure faggots.
So Piggy has the ability to turn men gay? No wonder JJ was so afraid
I just started playing this and can barely understand anything but Jesus Christ, Yuri is fucking ripped in this game. I tried to take screenshots to get full frontal but the animation went too fast.
They're definitely a fun ship to play around with.
Victor seems like the type who'd have had a lot of sex with women but none with men and when he met Yuuri he suddenly realised that what he'd been missing in life was
victor seems like the type who choked on dicks on a daily basis when younger
Victor seems straight up 100% gay. He pays women no attention at all and his mannerisms are gay as hell.
For some reason people think he must be a playboy bislut because he's popular with women, but he doesn't even acknowledge them.
Victor is bigger but body wise he's less so? Pig being butch and Victor being frail is hitting so many points.
Victor's outfit is disgusting, he looks like the owner of a chocolate factory who is about to introduce you to his bussiness in an introductory video for people on a tour.
Let's play a game, go here http://www.withawish.jp/tuxedo/index.cgi?c=tuxedo-1&sk=0 and pick anything that you think would suit Victor and Yuri.
Either unique one for each or matching suits doesn't matter
Why these designers love glossy fabrics so much
JJ should fear him. Victor was a normal hetero man before pig succubus entered his life.
If he's had any amount of gay sex, it wouldn't have been consensual. I think he would've been too devoted to skating to bother.
And yeah he doesn't give a shit about women, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have had one night stands. Though he's definitely gay and definitely a bottom. And he probably gives really fucking good blowjobs.
Kind of related, but
Yuuri and Phichit experimented in Detroit, probably.
>And yeah he doesn't give a shit about women, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have had one night stands.
if he doesn't care about women he probably has no desire to fuck one.
Eh, he still could've when he was younger and finding out what he wanted.
Most likely this. I don't think he's had a bunch of sexual experiences like people seem to think he has. But I think he has had sex before. Just not for years.
That said, shota Victor is for gangbangs.
Yes, Victor was physically modeled after John Cameron Mitchell because Kubo thought he was super hot when she saw him in Hedwig (which is a flaming gay musical show). Also he was given the Johnny Weir homage, and a tiny blink-and-you-miss-it homage to Jeffrey Buttle.
If he could have one night stands with women, why would he be too devoted to skating to have one night stands with men? Devoted athletes still have time for sex with people of either gender, maybe he doesn't have dedicated relationships but there's always Olympic orgies.
And he and Yuuri are obviously switches, their dynamic flip flops constantly.
Considering the scene of Victor asking Yuuri what he'd want him to be in regards of relationship terms I always imagined him to be in one-sided relationships. Like someone only going out with him for either fame or money or Victor just not caring about the relationship because he was only focused on skating. So he more 'acting as a boyfriend' than an actual boyfriend.
Nice, thanks for the info.
I did kind of mean more in terms of actual relationships. But given his whole "I've been neglecting love and life forever" thing it comes across as him not having had much sex.
I want him to be a slut, don't get me wrong, but for some reason it doesn't seem that way to me.
I actually didn't get that reading from that scene but I did imagine Victor got dragged into a few/lot relationships that were only for media boost or money without realizing it early.
I was just trying to make sense as to why he would look so sad when talking about his first relationship, but it doesn't add up with how he says he has neglected love.
Yeah that face was cartoony but at that point we weren't supposed to think Victor was a sad character.
And I still think he would. But I also think he's been in actual relationships.
I do think Victor's gay and that he realised it ages ago, but there's something about him being a virgin in that regard that I like the idea of. Yuuri would probably worry about disappointing Victor and Victor having had great homo sex before and Victor going "no I've never tried dick don't worry it's cool".
Maybe he's only ever exclusively fucked dudes or only had boyfriends. Or he's fucked both men and women.
To be fair I do hate that trope. But in this case I think it would be bi or gay all along but Yuuri is the first person (man or woman) he's felt this strongly about.
Even if he has had gay sex before I don't think he's loved anyone as much as Yuuri, maybe.
In a way, yes, because neither Victor nor Yuuri fit a seme/uke stereotype. Victor is more experienced and is a sugar daddy but he's also a pure maiden and likes it when Yuuri is aggressive. Yuuri is not confident and hasn't been in a relationship before but he's very erotic on the ice, loves pulling Victor's tie and he's the one to put on a ring on it. He's also a bit of asshole.
I consider it a deconstruction of the sport genre because it's about adults who are professionals who deal with things like anxiety rather than underdog highschoolers who want to go to the interhigh using their sports related superpowers/friendships.
hope we get both. But in different shows, of course.
That's true. It's definitely one of the more realistic sports anime out there. I like my shitty shounen high school sports (Kurobas is my favourite anime) but things like this are definitely refreshing every so often. The characters are also much more realistic -- it's not only the sports side of things.
They are mostly tumblr fujoshit refugees and any mention of women in their yaoi triggers the shit out of them.
Just look how they ship a forced tumblr ship like MilaSara when they have barely interacted and Sara is too straight to function. Or how the very mention of Mila on official merch awakes the autism of bikefairys. Or how they literally cannot stop bringing the translator drama they see on their tumblrs into every single thread latelly. Just to quote the most notable examples.
Just downloaded it on chrome and I'm already exploding in a fit of pure rage.
Pretty fun but weird. Loving it.
They almost definitely don't, unfortunately. Even if they did it wouldn't necessarily make it good, YOI wouldn't have been so good if it wasn't for the way the staff felt about the subject matter and homos/sexuality. Staff who make homo just for the sake of fujobucks won't be able to put that sort of obvious passion into it.
>this whole post
Man, Baldfat is so good
No, its just that being gay for only one man is the worst of the worst BL cliches ever and does not need to be involved in Yoi. Especially if anyone wants to claim its deconsructing anything BL.
>any mention of women in their yaoi triggers the shit out of them
Being only "gay for one man" is typical yaoishit though. That's the part that annoys people. It's just a tired cliche.
Baldfat is love, Baldfat is life.
Well Piggy did have to pretend to be a woman when he first performed Eros. But I don't think Kubo will go that far, because in Hedwig his lover dumps him after he tries to transition from man to woman.
How is it illogical? It's a shitty trope and I don't want them to use it, but I don't understand what you mean by "illogical" in terms of Victor's past. Any assumptions about Victor's previous relationships or sexuality aren't based on anything in canon.
It took Karice years to understand what 王道 meant so now she rants every time she sees it. Tora ranted about someone mistranslating 王道. Coincidence? I think not.
There's no such thing as being gay for one man unless you're a retarded tumblr demisexual, and while there is plenty of evidence that Victor is attracted to men, there is zero evidence that he's attracted to women.
The concept is basically inherently illogical. If you are attracted to someone of the same sex, that proves you are capable of attraction to the same sex period and thus cannot be straight otherwise.
Also, like >>153567088 said. YoI is often appreciated for how it subverts or omits yaoi cliches. Even in nipland. It'd be a shame to change that.
I always took it to mean "never fallen in love with a man before" but have realised they're gay.
I have nothing against the idea of Victor being gay (and he is) but I feel like Yuuri would be his first actual boyfriend.
I'm at the part where you fight Yurio but I keep losing. I can't read enough jap to know where to go to power my shit up. It's fine though, it was fun listening to them and I'll read translations later.
Sure why not. Take it however makes you most happy.
I'm not sure why most of this thread is complaining and arguing with each other about stupid shit. Not everyone is going to take away what you did or I did.
Also I'm not disagreeing but other than Victor being (obviously) attracted to Yuuri when did he show evidence of being attracted to men in general? Did I miss something or did Kubo say something in one of her interviews?
I'm not trying to say people can't have their own opinions (unlike most of /a/), I'm just stating mine. If Victor has had previous boyfriends or has fucked dudes in the past it doesn't bother me and I'm not going to rage about it, but I like the idea of them being each other's first boyfriends (and first relationship period for Yuuri). But if that turns out to not be canon it's whatever. I'm just putting theories out there.
Same, I would love for that to be true. Even if it turns out to not be I wouldnt think about it for more than a few seconds because it doesnt matter. baldfat is true and forever.
You said he'd only have sex with women before yet is suddenly gay for Pig. How is that not the most cliche ridden bullshit that comes from stupid and outdated BLshit? Sorry but him not having sex with men before but only women does not make him more "pure" for his first time with a man.
Are you me? I can't defeat Yurio either
Managed to escape that bishie fucker that wouldn't die
No way in hell that I'm wasting my ap on nameless monsters.
I said that I think he's mostly had sexual experiences with women but worked out early on that he's gay. And Yuuri is the first actual man he's had a relationship with.
I don't think Yuuri made him gay.
No I think he's gay, but that doesn't mean he can't have had girlfriends when he was younger.
Just because you like one dick doesn't mean you like them all.
If this game is anything like the other mobage shit, you should be given a lot of free crap to give you a boost in the beginning. I was able to grab it from my mail box, but I don't know what I should be leveling and how? My cards? My character? Not concerned too much over it.
How the fuck is a naked twink fairy able to kick my ass anyway?
>Sorry but him not having sex with men before but only women does not make him more "pure" for his first time with a man.
This is what I feel this is what it's about.
It's like those purityfags back in the threads for ep 10 previews and threw a shitfit over the possibility of Chris being his ex and stuff when that theory was thrown around for fun, except way less subtle.
The thing is, sex with a mutual deep love is pretty different from casual sex. So no matter what, to Victor, his time with Piggy would still feel like a first time. We tell from ep 10 it's the first time he's felt a mutual love so deep and he's obsessed enough with Yuuri that I highly doubt any sex he had in the past would compare
